Wow. I am pretty speechless.
Simon was at a loss for words, for the first time.
Moon-howler, you beat me to that “WOW.” I watched the full video 3 times…I want the album!!
AWC,
I have you beat, I watched it four times! It was so amazing. Did you watch the full video I linked to? She cries in the end….and yes, I get all choked up too. I admit it, I can be an emotional sap sometimes 🙂
five times!
Amazing! Susan vs. Adam for American Idol!
Elena, that’s what I watched 3 times!
You know Twinad, something about this sweet, unpretentious, timid, and amazing woman WAYYYY out does Adam. She steps out on stage, no makeup, no special hair do, just herself, no “mask” , and she just is….a voice that simply and utterly lifts your spirit.
AWC, not quite as pathetic as me, but your close, you better be careful 😉
What a wonderful voice!
Wow, thank you so much for sharing this. What an uplifting experience!
What a beautiful voice. Thanks,Elena.
Simon looks as if he’s in love….
haha Alanna. I thought he looked like Marcia Brady having that “dreamy” look on her face when she met Davey Jones of the Monkees.
Adam has fans? gag! I just think he is artificial.
Oh, MH! I think he is absolutely killer. And when they interview him, he really is humble, I don’t think he is fake at all…well, except for the nail polish, etc. He is authentic and what an amazing range.
I do agree with Elena though, that Susan’s story is something really special…and so is she. What a talent!
There’s a Susan Boyle fan site on Facebook…a friend of mine joined which is how I found it. There’s already over 62,000 members. Very cool.
AWC,
Thanks for the FB info. I didn’t know that. I will have to become a fan too.
AWC,
Did you see that her mom had just recently died, and she promised her mom, her dying wish, that she would perform on the show. This morning the site had over 12 million hits. Beauty, real everlasting beauty, truly can not be judged simply by the exterior.
I agree, Elena.
How about the eye liner and mascara on Adam? Is that real also?
😉
M-H,
I don’t get the Adam thing too. I love Danny, what a great husky voice and such a sad but sweet love story to lose your wife so young.
Danny was my front runner until the week Adam did Tears for Fears. He won me over that week. I still think it will be a Danny/Adam showdown. And since Danny is the more mainstream of the two, and has the sad story, I still think he could pull it out. Especially when I know there are so many homo phobes out their ala Greg. Sorry, everyone, I have to let my American Idol geekdom out somewhere that is not in the workplace!
Elena, sort of reminds me of Love Story. Yea, I am a Danny fan with Allison as runner up. What a talent on one so young.
You might be right about a Danny/Adam showdown, Twinad. I would count on it in fact. Adam might be talented. I just find nothing likable about him.
Just saw this…Susan Boyle recorded a song 10 years ago that has just been “discovered”…

Hi Firedancer, I posted this on my FaceBook earlier today. I was getting ready to post it here, but you beat me to it. I love this recording of Cry Me A River. Simply amazing!
Hey Chris, I’m impressed that you have a Facebook page. I don’t know what it is, exactly, about Susan’s story that is so touching…besides not judging by appearances, such an important lesson itself. But there’s more to it than that, that has inspired the whole world. Here it is 11:30 and I’m looking at her interviews on youtube instead of going to bed. She’s a person of few words, which is such a refreshing change from people who yack too much!
Firedancer,
Susan’s story is one for all of us to learn from and be inspired by. In just a few days she has over 400,00 fans on Facebook. The comments are non-stop on FB. Why are you impressed by my having a FB page? (just curious)
I agree few words a “refreshing change”. I don’t yack near as much as I once did. 😉
I think this story just shows “common ground” can be found. Just look at us…we’re living proof. Of course, we agree on several things.
Good morning, Chris! I’m just trying to identify the special something about Susan that brings people together on “common ground”. The revelation about not judging by appearances, which is a universal truth? Cheering for the underdog, that gives all of us hope that we can succeed?
Heh, heh, about Facebook…well, we’re of the same demographic, more or less. I logged on to see what all the fuss was about, and was instantly overwhelmed by the lack of privacy. As in, seeing every contact of every friend and everything they say. And the time factor! There’s only so many hours in a day. I’m still trying to figure out how people can keep up with that, with email, with work, with daily responsibilities of life, with blogs, and forget about Twitter. The comments I see on FB seems like twittering anyway.
You have kids, I believe, and a job. Truly, how do manage to keep up with everything?
Good evening, Firedancer!I also, think one thing that’s special about the Susan Boyle story is reminds us all don’t be afraid to go after your dreams. Afterall, sometimes they do come true.
I’m new to Facebook, and many of my friends from high school had been after me to join. I don’t have time to tell everyone my every move like twitter. Which I’ve never seen a twitter.
I do a have daughter and 2 stepdaughters. So, sometimes there are three teens here. I keep odd hours, and survive on little sleep. I can get cranky from it all. Gotta run off with my to get my daughter. (tweet tweet).
The lack of privacy thing on face book bothers me.
I guess that’s the key to keeping up with everything…surviving on little sleep. As someone who is going through life perpetually tired, I’ll never bridge that gap!
