Corey is just the gift that keeps on giving. The Washington Post in its Virginia Political blog section quotes Corey:
The always-outspoken Stewart repeated his remarks today, and said he doesn’t worry that McDonnell may back Allen because voters already showed they don’t support Allen by voting him out of office in 2006.
“They’re old friends,” Stewart said. “George Allen has a lot of old friends. It’s not Bob McDonnell who chooses the next senator from Virginia. It’s the electorate. … And they have already decided Allen had a mediocre term as senator. He needs to move on.”
“I think a lot of George Allen,” McDonnell said on his monthly radio show Tuesday on WTOP. “I served with him in the legislature when he was governor. He was the most dynamic governor of the modern age. I think he was an exceptional governor. He was a very good senator.”
McDonnell also has said he probably won’t endorse anyone. Perhaps discretion is the better part of valor. Maybe Corey needs to emulate the governor. He just keeps digging himself in deeper and deeper. If he keeps it up, about 10% of the population will support him, if he is lucky. That’s won’t send Mr. Stewart to Washington.
Do you think there is something wrong with Corey? I’m being serious here. What kind of person is THIS self destructive?
Easy one…a NARCISSIST!!!
@Vigilant Vulture
He should seek professional help.
Please back off.. we’ll never lose him. We tout him as the best thing for since sliced bread.
Yea Wendy, lets do that in New England, Great Lakes area, Nova Scotia or something. I don’t want him influencing Virginia.
Could it be that the attacks on George Allen are meant to distract from the more substantive problem he is facing, that the “issue” he is standing is plagued with falsehoods, misrepresentations, bad policy, irresponsible spending, and higher taxes? Corey Stewart’s only strong suit is public speaking. As long as he keeps making news, he is getting that microphone and an opportunity to get more famous.
Hmmm..can we skip NE and NS? Great Lakes – Minnesota is good. Or Arizona.
Arizona! That’s the ticket. He can help them with their law suits.
“Does Corey not know the math of winning an election? The winner has to get the most votes. No one decided that George Allen was a mediocre senator. Jim Webb got more votes. Corey’s over-simplification is laughable.”
OK, an automatic “A” for the course to anyone who can see what’s funny about this.
Are you defending Corey? What do YOU have against George Allen? Do you think the voters sent a message to Allen in 2005?
I always thought that those who liked Allen liked him. I don’t think his supporters turned on him at all.
Maybe we should hope that McDonnell will endorse Corey since just about everything else he has touched has turned to crap. I think it might be called the “Reverse Midas Touch”!
Moon and George – I still like George Allen and if we were voting today I would vote for him for the Republican nomination for Senate in 2012.
Governor McDonnell is not going to come anywhere near Corey Stewart. He does not want to be tainted with the buffonery we’ve seen from Corey. McDonnell has been mentioned as a contender for the Republican nomination for President in 2012 (not likely) but will very likely be the Republican nominee against Senator Warner in 2014.
