On tomorrow’s agenda we have item 9A, an interim report of an evaluation study of the Prince William County of the Illegal Immigration Enforcement Policy.  The policy and its effects have been researched by the Center of Research Study at University of Virginia, so stay tuned.

7 Thoughts to “UVA Evaluation Study Report at PWCBOS Tomorrow”

    Should be interesting…

Corey wants the county to use a service and not use obsolete software? Interesting. I wonder if he had someone special in mind for that job? I bet he wasn’t suggesting New Dehli

  3. NOT SPLC

80% of PWC residents are happy with how the police are carrying out the resolution. Also Deane admitted that immigrants are still reporting crimes.

It was difficult to draw conclusions from that report.

And there was a drop in reports of loitering at sites where day-laborers could find work, though those complaints may again be on the rise.

The report concludes that the drop in crime could be caused by less wrongdoing, or by fewer people reporting crimes to police.

In addition, the report showed that local Hispanics developed an increasingly negative view of police after the resolution was passed.

It said some illegal immigrants may have left Prince William because of the new regulations.

If anyone would like to read the actual report rather than through the news filter–

Wow, an intellectually honest report … it all rings true to me (having read the summary). Are we at consensus now on this issue?

  7. Slowpoke Rodriguez

Wow, thanks, Ordinary Joe for posting the link. A bit dry, but I’m happy with every slide in the report. Super-satisfied with county government and the job the police did with the resolution.
