This gem was located on the Huffington Post.  It has to be a joke.  There are not this many nut burgers in the world.

My favorite character:

Right here. I got a book here called the U.S.S. Constitution. I’m sure everybody’s seen this before. And you know what? I’ve read this book three times now, and I’ve referenced it dozens of times and I can’t find one little paragraph in here that says the government has the right to take over our health care

.

Do we assume this is because people don’t like Obama? What makes people act like this?

And people wonder why congressmen are now meeting in small groups rather than large circuses?

Where is Frank Wolf’s town hall meeting? Frankly Frank, I don’t blame you for not having one.
Where are the voices of reason? Liberal, conservative, or anywhere in between, where are the normal people who just want to solve problems?

I believe this man is what is called a”low information voter”.

  2. rod2155

“where are the normal people who just want to solve problems?”

working 9-5 and finding more productive logical ways to protest without having to dress in costumes and parade in front of the cameras shouting during their spare time.

  3. Mando

hehe… nobody works 9-5 anymore rod… that was decades ago…

9 hours days with a 1 hour lunch are the norm now.

But I must say, I agree with rod.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to get accomplish MH. Why don’t you post some youtubes of loony lefties marching for public health care.

Does it make you feel better or smarter dredging the bottom of the barrel? There are TONS of good arguments against public health care you could be delving into.

“Do we assume this is because people don’t like Obama? What makes people act like this?”

What makes people spit on GI’s and call them baby killers? What makes old bags dressed in pink shout “murderer” at sitting presidents?

My favorite health care protest story:

    From AP
“THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – California authorities say a clash between opponents and supporters of health care reform ended with one man biting off another man’s finger.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Capt. Frank O’Hanlon says about 100 people demonstrating in favor of health care reforms rallied Wednesday night on a street corner. One protester walked across the street to confront about 25 counter-demonstrators.

O’Hanlon says the man got into an argument and fist fight, during which he bit off the left pinky of a 65-year-old man who opposed health care reform.

A hospital spokeswoman says the man lost half the finger, but doctors reattached it and he was sent home the same night.

    She says he had Medicare.”

So the pro Obamacare bites off the pinky of the anti Obamacare protestor but he gets it sewed back on because he has medicare. Oh the irony!

But seriously, biting off the pinky of someone you don’t agree with? I don’t think that has ever crossed my mind. I don’t agree with the health care reform proposal but I promise not to bite anything off of the people who do support it. We should all be able to discuss it in a civil manner.

    I want the youtube!!!

  6. Moon-howler

Mando, it makes me feel saner. What you don’t understand is, it isn’t the message about health care, it’s the behavior.

I have questions about health care. I think we need reform and some serious changes. I don’t necessarily think HB3200 is the answer. That’s the reason I would like to hear discussion, not shrieking people spreading misinformation. Death panels don’t cut it as debate.

It’s the hysteria and total disregard for facts that I find so disturbing. The fact that HB3200 is being called ‘Obamacare’ pretty much speaks to the hysteria.

What makes people do all those things you described? Bad manners and in some cases, insanity. I don’t like those people either. These are just more current. If I were you I would be distancing myself rather than jabbing at me for posting about nut burgers. I would say this is a rather current issue, wouldn’t you?

  7. Moon-howler

Anona, that behavior qualifies as insane in my book. Was the man arrested? I certainly hope so.

I am not sure sure where medicare fits into all this. Most people I know on medicare love it. Greatest thing since sliced bread. The down side of that is, it is not inexpensive.

  8. Elena

Good night, this is INSANITY! No war protest over Iraq EVER degraded to this disaster and yet thousands of our brave men and women are dead, wounded physically and mentally.

  9. @anona
    LOL!!!

    That’s so freaking sick.

  10. Slowpoke Rodriguez

    Ahhh Obama, the great unifier!

  11. Slowpoke Rodriguez

“Found this on the Huffington Post…it must be a joke.” Good Call! That’s where the smart money always is!

  12. Slowpoke Rodriguez

Here…here’s a nutburger that’s a US Congressman! Oh, how about that anti-Puerto Rican racism!

Isn’t the Huffinton Post a gag site anyway…

  14. Moon-howler

Jan Helfeld would get thrown through a window if it were up to me.

  15. Moon-howler

Slow, Bush was supposed to be the great unifer. It hasn’t worked out for either of them.
There are just some people you cannot unify.

  16. Slowpoke Rodriguez

No argument that Bush wasn’t the great unifier. I remember his touting a record of “reaching across the aisle” in Texas, but it wasn’t one of his “titles”. I don’t however remember people chomping other people’s fingers off during the Bush years. Bush was polarizing, Obama is polarizing on steroids, and anyone who cares to look around just a little bit will quickly figure out why. How many people have come out in the last couple of days to say that any opposition of Obama’s health care reform is racism, besides Rangel?

  17. Moon-howler

Rangel didn’t help with that remark. I don’t think Bush or Obama are the cause of the contentiousness. I think the rancor is caused by people, rumors and hysteria, during the administration of both men.

I see each administration getting worse..by that I mean the other ‘side’ simply unable to tolerate the opposition. I can’t think of a candidate I don’t think I could have not lived with.

  18. El Guapo

Here’s some more footage from another townhall meeting. This is just getting out of hand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOOTKA0aGI0

  19. Mando

“I don’t think Bush or Obama are the cause of the contentiousness.”

Maybe not the cause, but I lay the majority of the blame on their shoulders for the degree of division we are experiencing now.

  20. @Moon-howler
I would settle for people ignoring one another.

  21. Second-Alamo

The low level of research and displayed knowledge by the average person is scary. This video is just as embarrassing as the ones I’ve seen asking people why they voted for Obama. The vote for the president was a parallel to American Idol and nothing less.

  22. RingDangDoo

    @El Guapo

    >>>Here’s some more footage from another townhall meeting.

Yes, definitely getting out of hand.

    Well done.

  23. RingDangDoo

    @hello

    >>>Isn’t the Huffinton Post a gag site anyway…

    Yea. It gags most folks.

  24. Elena

    You gotta love Monty Python!

  25. Moon-howler

Mando, think back to Clinton. Remember the contentiousness then? It started before his inauguration also. It seemed more civilized under Daddy Bush, but I could be wrong.

  26. hello

“Do we assume this is because people don’t like Obama? What makes people act like this?”

I’ve asked the question about this guy, why have you never talked about him? I would be willing to bet that if this guy wasn’t caught you would have posted this story as ‘some right wing nut’ smashes up Dem headquarters…

Loved that woman who said her eyes were opened when she listened to Hannity! Now, there’s an eyeopener!
