The Fort Sumter and Bull Run commemorative stamps are now on sale at your local post office.  The stamps are forever stamps.  Very neat.  I ordered mine to avoid the lines at the PO and they arrived today.

We know who won the war.  It is called the Yankee Battle of Bull Run rather than First Manassas.

  1. Lafayette, stop by. I ordered one for you.

    Hello…it’s the First Battle of Manassas. After all it did take place in a southern state.

    Lafayette,

    You are right about it being First Manassas!

    And to add insult to injury, the stamp appears to picture
    Damn Yankee’s charging and winning the field. It should
    have shown them fleeing back towards Washington! Grrr.

    MH, thanks for the tip. The SC stamp looks really neat.

    Buy as many as you can. The USPS only has 4 months of life in it left…..

    Thank you, Moon!! We were posting at the same time.

    @Big Dog
    We are in total agreement on this one!

  6. No one really ever wins a war.

    the stamp is an historical image of Rickett’s Battery being captured by a Confederate charge over Henry House Hill. They have it in the park Visitor Center…and the park is Manassas, so I think First Manassas is appropriate 😉
