@Rick Bentley
Rick, I find “anchor babies” incredibly offensive. It strips children and families of their humanity, and a good deal of one’s willingness to do something like that comes from racial resentment. This is bad news, and there is just no place for it.
What term would I use?
They are American citizens by right of birth, and they are no less so than you or I, no matter how many generations we have been here.
If you assume the right to strip a child of his or her humanity (or American citizenship) based on something their parents did, then why not grandparents, or great grandparents. Many of us have great grandparents who swore allegiance to the Confederacy and took up arms against the United States. Are we less American because of our ancestry?
I guess I would be out of luck. My great great grandfather fought in the Confederate Army. Mother’s side. Forget that I had a father.
Odd, the 14th amendment, which I assume is law, says that those kids born here are citizens. It doesn’t mention their parents. What happened to this RULE OF LAW I keep hearing people scream about.
Hey Moon-Howler, don’t get all high and mighty on us, don’t you know “rule of law” only applies when its convienent to target Latino’s! Don’t be silly 😉
Sorry for that abrupt transition. i thought i was in a different thread.
@Rick Bentley
Yeah, so stop projecting on me Rick.
The funny thing is, I’m not the first person to say one of them is bound to blow. I’m just repeating what I heard.
