Pro-choice Virginians knew what they were getting if McDonnell became governor.  That is why some of us were so vocal about his 20 year old thesis from Pat Robertson’s school.  Despite efforts to dismiss McDonnell’s thesis, many of us were not fooled, even though McDonnell attempted to bill himself as a moderate.

McDonnell is an extremist.  The hospital designation won’t make abortion safer.  It will do what it set out to do….make abortion less accessible.  The anti-choice zealots just don’t have the honesty to say that is the real motive for such a law.

I guess extremism is ok as long as you are not a Muslim.

  2. Dan Cooper

    Or a Republican.

  3. I don’t care much for it from Democrats either. I can name one senator who won’t be putting a sign in my card after his vote on this issue.

Moon-howler :I don’t care much for it from Democrats either. I can name one senator who won’t be putting a sign in my card after his vote on this issue.

Does that mean that senator’s challenger will have a sign in your yard? 👿
In the words of Geraldine-“the devil made me do it”

    1. @Lafayette, if there is a challenger, I don’t want his or her picture in the yard either since I believe they would have voted yes for the same thing I am so angry about.

Does anyone think that this abstinence money really helps at all? The money should be directed towards efforts that will do something – like teach them abstinence, but if you are going to do it, use birth control.

    1. Pat, I think abstinence money is the biggest waste of money I have ever heard of. Parents should be the ones giving the abstinence speeches and lessons. Those lessons are free.

The Governor of VA has put in nearly a million dollars in abstinence education money. I believe the use birth control money has been stripped away.

If anyone has ever sat through one of those abstinence classes, they would see how foolish they are.

Furthermore, I believe I read the Virginia abstinence program where nearly a million bucks in invested is an abstinence until marriage program. How realistic is that?

“The anti-choice zealots just don’t have the honesty to say that is the real motive for such a law. ”

There IS a reason why they are called PRO-LIARS…. It’s not nor will it ever be about “da baybeeez!!!!” They do not care for born children, nor do they care for women….they are no friends of families or compassionate of the tough circumstances women who are UNWANTEDLY pregnant must endure. They don’t care if a famikly will go bust if another child is born…they scoff at and make little of the pain of adopting out a child…they like to stand upon their soapboxes and proclaim that people just shouldn’t have sex unless they want kids. And in the next breath they like to talk about individual liberty and the right to self-determination.

When you get down to the bottom if it, the pro-liars are mainly concerned with women/society being mandated to live within the guidelines of their own personal religion, (see: Bob Marshall) or they really do not like women. YOu won’t be seeing it on the news anytime soon, but illegal abortions are making a comeback for those women who are underage, poor or lack access to a safe, legal procedure. Trust me on that…and where will the self-serving sanctimonious assholes be when stories of illegal abortions start getting out? Sitting high on their pedestals, self-satisfied that “at least they couldn’t walk in and just kill their baby legally….the punishment of infertilty or death should serve as an ample reminder. How “pro-life” indeed.
