The blog has gone to the dogs. But we knew that. Is everyone ready for the big day? There are lots of big days coming up. Winter Solstice is right around the corner as are the 8 days of Hanukkah. Christmas is next Sunday.
These dogs are in a festive mood. Did I leave off any holidays for our dogs to celebrate?
Remember that awful barking Jingle Bells?
Where is the best Christmas display in the area?
1 billion hungry in the world. www.heiffer.org a sustainable gift to fight hunger.
Oh, I’m afraid Boehner really stepped in a pile of it this go-round. He just got out-maneuvered on this one, or something between him and McConnell broke down. But make no mistake, Boehner’s holding the bag of poo on this one.
The santa dogs agree with you, Pokie, and no one knows doggie doodle like my hatted canine buddies.
In response to the Wall Street Journal editorial criticizing the way Republicans have handled the payroll tax debate, Boehner defended the GOP’s position. “We are the party of lower taxes, we have been for 30 years, and that’s not going to change,” he said.
… And 30 years ago, when Ronald Reagan took office, our total deficit was under $1T. Think there might be a connection?
Pokie, what are the little pokies getting for Christmas? Are you spoiling them rotten? Any neat gadgets?
@Moon-howler
No.
I think that both parties are the parties of increased SPENDING….THAT’S the connection. And the fact that the citizenry is terrified of Congress actually NOT spending money and giving them the free ice cream.
The above was supposed to be a reply to Morris. Don’t know how it ended up going to Moon.
@Pat.Herve
If anyone ran a business the way Congress ran the country, they would be in jail.
But congress isn’t a business. It is what it is. I am rather enjoying watching them finger point and fall all over each other. The merry band of NO is all puffed up and proud and they have no idea what they are doing.
Meanwhile, millions of people are getting screwed in one form or another. Now that part isn’t funny. For many people, an extra $75-$100 bucks a month is a huge big deal and in some cases, it might make the difference in going to bed hungry at night for some kids. It might make the difference in how long the heat stays on in the dead of winter.
This just isn’t the time to be dithering around with payroll taxes. I was opposed to the Bush tax cuts in the first place because we were at war. Much has changed since then. This isn’t the time to make the correction.
Tonight I heard that the Republicans managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. hmmmmmm….tell me its not true.
Well, my 4 year old is into helicopters and Batman, so we have a Batman helicopter for him. The one year old doesn’t care. He plays with older brothers toys and anything that isn’t a toy. The one year old loves one of my old iPods. I pull in German radio stations and he got it to play music out loud in German one day and walked through the house like he had just discovered the cure for cancer one day. For me, the big coup is having both sets of grandparents here Christmas day. The boys love both sets of Grandparents and I love when we’re all together. My work is giving me a new iPhone with the bill going to them, so the wife will get mine, and maybe the one year old will get her old phone (which he’s totally obsessed with).
@Pokie
Does he like the ipad? My 5 yr old gkid can wisk her way around mine better than I can. It must be those smaller fingers.
Mine might have to go on the shelf next time she is here. It didn’t get put back where it belongs last night.
