It has begun.  Virginia continues to be a laughing stock of the nation.

Give us that down-home, far right feel.

Remember when the Bobbitts used to be our most embarrassing claim to fame? How I long for the good old days.

14 Thoughts to “Really!!!? With Seth and Amy”

  1. TWINAD

A male friend of mine on Facebook posted the Slate article about Virginia’s new “Transvaginal Ultrasound” law and asked where the outrage was…he just can’t believe that this isn’t all over the news it’s so reprehensible. Many women responded that we were plenty outraged and a few hours later, guess what? One lone man decided to spout off that “Virginian’s, through our elected officials” support this kind of garbage. Needless to say, some friends and I rallied and it was a long day of back and forth commentary, most of it not very friendly!

You are so right, MH, it’s an embarrassment all right, an outrageous embarrassment because honestly, it’s not only an attack on women, but an attack on the most vulnerable women, because women with means are always going to be okay. It’s the poor women that are going to be most affected and we all know the same people that think it’s okay to have something jammed up a woman’s hoo haa against her will, are the same people that won’t want to fund WIC and other programs for needy women and children.

    1. @Twinad, exactly! No checkbooks will be volunteered when it comes to helping support the children. That is what enrages me. I have seen it too often in my lifetime.

  2. Kipp Hanley

Funny stuff. Life begins when you hit send on your Match.com profile…classic.

    1. Hi Kipp. Welcome. I thought that skit was hilarious.

We tend to love the irreverent around here.

I don’t think I have any issue saying I have Platinum Plus on Transvaginal Airlines… 😉

The clip was funny but it is a reminder of how things will be with govt in charge of healthcare.

  4. Elena

Always gotta deflect Marnim. No, actually, it is nothing like ensuring people have health care actually. You see, no one is going to be required to have an invasive prostate exam or penile cancer screening. You will opt what type of coverage you choose and HOW you choose to use it without making ME pay for your healthcare because you thought you were immortal and immune to illness. Well, immune til you ended in the emergency room with no healthcare benefits and massive bill.

  5. Elena

    Kipp,
I loved the “last call” too, I laughed my butt off!

    Elena,

“You see, no one is going to be required to have an invasive prostate exam or penile cancer screening.”

Except that the Virginia GA did try to pass that this year.. When govt becomes the single healthcare provider they call the shots. They choose who live or die. Again, imagine if President Palin we’re in charge of your healthcare decisions…

  7. @marin, Palin would kill me off for sure.

Marin, you do understand that Janet Howell was trying to drive a point home?

Yes. I know you do. The govt isn’t going to become a health care provider.

  8. I am at a loss over why anyone thinks this is acceptable.

The state is a laughing stock.

The personhood amendment has been rejected everywhere it has been attempted by the voters. Why is it acceptable for representatives to pass it when the people do not want it?

That isn’t smaller government. Its invasive govt.

    @Moon-howler

I think President Palin’s death panel would have room for you — if you vote correctly. 😉

  10. Lafayette

Del. BM is due to be on channel for next with his comments regarding SNL skit. Geesh…

    1. Has he been on yet? He does realize he looks like a horse’s rear end and not a hero, right?

    2. Hardy harr harrr…I hope Del. Bob doesn’t quit his day job.

      He is still an embarrassment.
