I’d encourage everyone to take the opportunity to visit, pwcaa.com – Prince William Citizens Action Alliance to automatically send emails to all Supervisors.  The website allows you to simply enter your contact information, send the emails, and then by providing the email addresses of your friends, it sends invitations to your friends to do the same.  According to Corey, the Board has received close to a thousand emails, so let’s make sure our voices are heard too, please visit pwcaa.com and TAKE ACTION NOW.

40 Thoughts to “Take Action Now”

  1. Pebbles

Thanks Alanna/Elena for all that you are doing to stop this insanity. Hopefully, the Supervisors will have the fortitude to stop this non-sense once and for all. I support fully funding the jail portion of the resolution. But I don’t believe the probable cause will do anything but invite trouble. God Bless America.

  2. Elena

    Welcome Pebbles,
A friend just recently reminded me, “hope springs eternal”, let’s pray that rings true this time.

Thanks for posting, and please spread the message that each voice counts!

  3. “Raising the glass for Alanna, Elena, TWIN, MH, and others…”

  4. Elena

here here KG, my newly poured glass of wine to all of you!

  5. Kenneth Reynolds

Yeahhhhh for Allana, Elena, TWIM,MH and Kgotthardt!! You guys are up against a monster!! Which means all of us are. BUT (I AM SCREAMING!!) THE EMAILS ARE BEING ORCHESTRATED BY COREY. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM HIM ON FRIDAY ASKNG THAT I CONTACT MY SUPERVISOR AND URGE HIM TO SUPPORT THE RESOLUTION. BUT I AM NOT ON ANY OF COREY’S MAILING LIST AND WONDER IFHE DIDNT GET MY INFO FROM THE COUNTY!!! I TOLD C CHUMLEY TO EXPLAIN THAT SINCE SHE REPORTED WHAT COREY SAID – PLEASE CALL ME AT 703-585-1486 IF YOU NEED ADDL INFORMATION. KR

  6. Here’s to you Mr. Reynolds! Long live the honest!

  8. Frank Principi made a cameo appearance in one of my dreams last night.

I think I’ve been on here too long.

  9. Kenneth Reynolds

you are only just beginning K…….and introduce yourself to Frank……i understand he is very receptive to new ideas……and certainly among the smartest and well-informed people on the BOCS

  10. LOL! If CS, JS and GL make it into my dream, I QUIT!!!!

  11. Redawn, I totally forgot about that ad! I laughed my ass off then and I did once more. Thanks for reminding me!!

  12. redawn

    kgotthardt,

Wazzz up! Hah Hah, good morning. They say laughter is the best medicine and I try to overdose daily 🙂

  13. Willoughby

Thanks for the tip! I intend to use PWCAA to write to the BOCS asking them to continue to FULLY FUND the Resolution. Thanks for the tool, admin.

  14. Juturna

    Willoughby

If as Greg says there are no more lines at the emergency room, people are now taking back their streets and out walking, ESOL enrollment is way down, why do you think we need to add more funding?

Mr. Stewart said this was a “stunning sucess”.

Does this mean you agree with the Police Chief’s assesment of what resources he needs?

What do you think about the jails? They are a bottomless pit of funding needs. What should we do when there is no place to bed inmates. Yes, ICE responded once and there was a big hullabaloo. Where do you think we will be in three months with ICE?

I agree we need to do something about influx of illegals, but the resolution includes zip for increased neighborhood services. Mr. Principi made a motion to add staff to that program on Tuesday, but the vote was 6-1 against.

  15. Juturna

Will make a correction here to simply stick to the facts, too often if a poster makes a mistake, the focus shift to the mistake skipping the issue.

    The vote was 7-1.

  16. Willoughby

I’ve got at least 30 people writing via PWCAA–real people with real addresses–in support of full funding for the Resolution. I can’t thank you enough, admin, for providing all of us an easy way to exercise our First Amendment rights.

Juturna, if the Resolution is working so well, as you say, why stop now? I’m not really paying much attention to what “Greg” is saying, but if you say it is a succes, I’ll take your word on it and feel very optimistic about Tuesday’s outcome. Thanks for the good words!

  17. “The vote was 7-1.” DOesn’t say a hell of a lot for our other reps, does it?

    It sure does!

  19. Juturna

Willo… are you dense or just attempting to be a nuisance? I didn’t say it was working. Greg and Mr. S did.

Like I said, very rarely are the issues debated, just attempt to twist things to paint the poster badly or deliberatly misinterpret what they say for the opportunity to be a pain.

    Thanks for proving my point.

  20. Willoughby

You’ve got it backwards. Your point is twisted to begin with.

I think many people here are so afraid that the Resolution will actually WORK–that terrifies Principi and his ilk. Give it a chance–if or when it fails, then you can all stick your tongues out and say, “We told you so!”

What have you personally got to lose?

  21. Juturna

    es-ta-ley

You are opposed to Neighborhood Services?

  22. Apparently, the BOCS is opposed to neighborhood services. They would rather pretend they have Federal authority and waste our tax money so they can play dress-up.

  23. Ruby

I wouldn’t dare use either of the “email blasts”. Form letters shouldn’t not be taken too seriously. Words from a person heart and first hand experiences is what will get one’s attention.
    Be original.

  24. redawn

    Ruby

    AGREE!!!!!!!!! 🙂

    kgotthardt,

“waste our tax money so they can play dress-up”

    You RETURNED the GIGGLE 🙂

  25. Juturna

What do I have to lose? Higher taxes and (if possible) lousier schools.

You think I am twisted? Typical comment from your ilk. Since you can’t argue the points, you discredit the poster.

Have at it. Your comments mean nothing to me.

Then why do you keep responding?

Anyway, residents in the City of Manassas will see their tax bills increase 29 percent, with no Resolution in place there. Are you going to blame the PWC resolution for that increase? If the resolution is rescinded next week, do you imagine that will influence the City Council to lessen the increase? I hardly think so.

PWC has some wonderful schools with some killer sports teams-we have been to many of them during my own kid’s sports career. I’m sorry you’re so down on the school system there–frankly, I have been impressed, in general, considering some of the ridiculous challenges that school system has to face. My child became friends with many PWC students who went on to some of the best schools in the state–and the country. Hardly lousy education, in my opinion.

If you have a child in the school system, consider getting involved rather than complaining about how lousy it all is. We were not impressed with the private school we were paying for, trust me, and my kids have been better off in the public schools.

  27. Juturna

    Because you are easy. 🙂

I am involved – over involved that’s how I know so much stuff.
I do think there is more to schools than killer sports teams. Part of the problem. That is one issue I take exception to.

  28. Willoughby

If you read on past the sports reference in my post, you would see where I praised the academics–my kid has friends who went on to Berkeley, U of Chicago, VA Tech, UVA–hardly academic slouches, wouldn’t you say, as many of our prestigious state schools have become more competitive over the past few years. Yes, there are problems, but they are doing a lot of good, too.

  29. Moon-howler

Oh good grief, Juturna, if you got any more involved with your child’s school they would have to appoint you principal. Actually, that might not be a bad idea. You have more sense than the principal does anyway.

I have always admired parents who valued academics more than the sports program.

  30. Juturna

    Or even area superindentant….. 🙂

  31. redawn

    Moon-howler,

“I have always admired parents who valued academics more than the sports program.”

    Could this be why?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwFW834Mrcc

All kidding aside and not to CHEW anyones ear off, sports are a very IMPORTANT part of academics that teach team work, leadership and SELF esteem.
Some students learn more in the field or ring than they do in a classroom setting.

  32. Lawful Citizen

Thanks, I used your link to send my wishes that the Rule of Law Resolution be fully implemented and fully funded. It has begun to work and it must continue, until illegal alien criminals leave this county and country. They are not welcome here.

  33. admin

Only one problem, ‘Frank’, there’s no 8400 Lomond Drive. We’ll give the Supervisors a heads-up to your activities.

  34. Moon-howler

    redawn,

Sports can turn many a kid around. I suppose I value balance. I have seen way too many parents care more about what happened on the playing field than in the classroom also.

When my father died right after his 80th birthday, most of those at his funeral were the many boys he had coached. Many of them said that his interest in them turned their lives around and they were where they were today because of him getting them involved in sports and making them do right. These were late middle age men, a good 10 years older than I was.

  35. Moon-howler

    Admin,

Sounds like you just caught another PW wannabe. I understand that several of the black velvets did exactly what they complain about the illegal immigrants doing: Using services they are not entitled to.

“Frank,” what part of ANTI do you not understand?

  36. Ruby

    PW wannabe. Now there’s a neo-classic. 😉

  37. Juturna

Redawn – absolutely agree that sports are a big part of developing self-esteem and teamwork. My son participates on two teams and is actually Captain of both.

Again, when you have kids in trouble and it is waived due to the revenue aspect of the teams or you have parents making large donations to booster clubs so their child can participate or make the team it kind of loses it’s value doesn’t it?

  38. Slowpoke Rodriguez

Thanks for the link. It works GREAT to send emails to the BOCS telling them that we the citizens will not tolerate any weakening of the resolution!

  39. Michael

Does anyone not understand that “probable cause” is how you catch criminals in the first place? That “probable cause” is the only tool you have to catch terrorists that might be making a bomb for the next 9-11? That “probable cause” is how you determine a person who is a wanted felon, from getting away again, “that probable cause” is how you find people who were driving without licenses and slamming into innocent victims, that probable cause” is how you determine where someone is on their second and third violation and no one else but the individual knows that?, that “probable cause”, probably is, and it is based on the instincts and good judgement of a trained police officer to know who the criminals are on his streets and who are not, based on their behavior and prior behavior, and that “probable cause” is the only way you get people to respect the law and stop breaking it. If you do not enforce “probable cause” in a lawthen you are only allowing officers to use hard direct evidence (which is never available), that the arrest rate sharply declines without “probable cause” (as in drug dealings), and that if the arrest rate drops, people who are crimninals everywhere, and gangs everywhere start thinking that no one is going to enforce the law, so I can get away with whatever I want. Do you not know that “probable cause, is by its very nature dependent on observed probable behavior and behavioral circumstances and is enforced on every one using the SAME LAW?
