Rush is the slut. How dare he! How dare Congressman Issa!
This is one war Congress will regret if they don’t pull in their horns. This is the year 2012. No one has the right to dictate who will and will not use birth control.

Damn. I wonder if it’s too late to go back for a law degree?
How hard are the GMATs??? I want to be a lawyer!!
Have some more oxycontin, Rush, you POS. What a nasty person.
I had to look up what ’round heeled’ means.
Too bad that the condition still exists where a woman (hardly a co-ed if she is in law school) cannot discuss a serious subject without ridicule and derision.
This video confirms and validates Elena and my decision to give full coverage to the fact that there is still a war being waged on women’s equality.
Marin, is this the kind of world you want your little girl to grow up in? I do believe in this case the good ole boys are still fighting back but they will not win.
At two o’clock in the morning, this was hard to take. It’ll be worse by light of day.
This man is out of his gourd = insane.
It might be living proof that some people will say or do anything for money and crowd approval.
I can just hear all the ditto heads sitting around cheering in their smug, ignorant voices, saying” you tell ’em Rush.”
Responsible Republicans will make certain that Limbaugh isn’t considered one of them. They will distance themselves and start making sure people know the difference between Republican conservatives and Conservative Republicans.
Rush Limbaugh doesn’t get a pass. No one wants the stench of Rush anywhere near them.
@Punchak
@Cato the Elder
Georgetown accepted me for grad school but I chose another equally well-known university that accepted me also but with a slighter better fellowship offer. Had I known . . . . It wasn’t that much more money . . . .
None of you toads had better dare let your wives know of this discussion. You will meet the same fate as Dave Albo, and rightly so.
Exception to the comment–Punchak. She is not a toad for obvious reasons.
🙄
😈
@Moon-howler
At least I’m an honest pig. Oink oink. 😈
@Moon-howler
Moon, what did you expect? Anyway, I finished grad school a couple of decades before I met Mrs. NTK.
Its the MCP talk that pisses women off. I hope you guys like frozen pizza for dinner a few nights in a row.
MH, oh come on now! If they’re offering it out for free… Hell, I’d be willing to pay the monthly cost of the pill. 🙂 I’m just letting these women feel empowered!!
You don’t have my wifes email address — do you???
@marin, I know where to find her.
I was unable to listen to his full tirade of stupidity.
Ever since he made of fun of Michael J Fox, I realized what disgusting foul human being Rush Limbaugh is.
Why such a pathetic human being is given ANY modicum of credibililty by the Republican Party is simply unfathomable to me. This latest draconian message is just another demonstration of why Limbaugh is a joke.
This whole discussion makes me think you men, even in your adult years, would still giggle during a health class presentation when the teacher said “penis” and “vagina”.
I thought it quite telling that Dave Albo, during his speech on the floor about why his wife lost her appetite for sex, could not even UTTER the full word transVAGINAL! He had to abbreviate it to transV. This just in, if you can even SAY the word vagina, you shouldn’t be legislating what women should do with theirs!
M-h, what I want to know is where these obviously photoshopped and ancient pictures of Limbaugh the attention whore came from!? This is the most Limbaugh I’ve heard in decades – since I was subjected to a bit of his radio show while walking through an antique shop one day. Hmmm… that was a rather fitting setting in which to hear his show…
“This whole discussion makes me think you men, even in your adult years, would still giggle during a health class presentation when the teacher said “penis” and “vagina”.”
Yes. Gleefully.
Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer and not a political leader. He makes millions of dollars by saying things to get people stirred up, causing blogs to run threads like this one, getting media attention, driving up his ratings, etc. He’s very good at all of this and his bank account shows it.
Serious Republicans do not consider him a Party leader even though some have tried to annoint him as such. The real problem is the failure by some people not to understand the difference between political leadership and entertainment. Rush’s goals are not to boost the credibility of serious Republicans or conservatives, or win elections. He aims to boost ratings and cash flow, and if Republicans suffer embarassment or collateral damage, so be it.
The real problem is the close association between Rush and the Republican party. When people who claim to be Republican continually make reference of thim as thought he were the official spokesperson one tends to link the 2 together. I hope more and more Republicans will continue to distance themselves.
Whoopie Goldberg is a Democrat. She is an entertainer. Most people don’t associate her as the spokesperson of the Democrats.
While you and I might know the goals of Rush Limbaugh, there are lots of people out there who say, “even Rush says……” regarding all Republican matters. Keep distancing yourselves!!!
It is a Republican problem. He is one of the albatrosses around the Party’s neck. He isn’t MY problem. I am an Independent.
OK, my husband would have been laughing hysterically too NTK!
In other news Georgetown Law reports that male applicants for its law program jumped 2250% over last year….
Hey Marinm, would you like to buy a few necked pictures of your wife?
Limbaugh is a fat, miserable old man whose audience is increasingly geriatric. He is also a coward, picking on a young girl a tenth of his age and who cannot defend herself. Republicans would do well distancing themselves from him.
@marinm
Marinm – I was thinking along the same lines. I would hate to be the guy in the mailroom who has to lug around those huge bags of applications that will be coming in from males after they hear that tape.
@Starryflights
I agree with you, Moon and the others who say Republicans should not get too close to Rush. Sometimes he argues mainstream conservative positions, but at other times is so off-the-wall no one wants to be linked to him. If you cozy up to him on one comment, you’re linked on everything else.
Democrats do a better job at distancing themselves from people like Bill Maher. I can’t stand that guy. He’s the Rush Limbaugh of the left. I’m not a Rush fan but do listen to him every now and then. When trying to understand why the left hates him so much, I just think about I feel about Bill Maher. Same thing, just different sides of the aisle. Not so many Democrats cozy up to Maher as Republicans do Limbaugh, and I agree that such a strategy is dangerous on the part of the Republicans.
Regarding Ms. Fluke, she’s a third-year law student at Georgetown; not a defenseless young girl. If she wants to make public statements such as this, and succeed in law, she better get used to counterattacks. It appears that’s not a problem for her. I have girls too and heaven forbid they become liberals, but I hope they become strong and can assert themselves the way this woman does.
Agreed, NTK.
Ms. Fluke is absolutely not a defenseless woman, regardless of how rudely she was treated. It probably strengthened her resolve.
There are worse things that your daughters becoming liberals, whatever that means. I expect my father thought I was a liberal also.
Obviously, I was unaware of how deep the problem runs in this country. I base this remark in part on the locker room statements made on this thread. Frankly, I am disappointed on so many levels.
First of all, I am disappointed that people we consider our friends would be so disrespectful of an issue Elena and I feel is critical to women being in charge of their own destiny.
It’s one thing to disagree. Its another to snicker and allow the conversation to digress into bathroom humor.
On a broader level, politically, it is perfectly obvious that many people still feel that men will make the best decisions for women’s health care, as evidenced by politicians and an all male Catholic heirarchy. The irony of it all is that so many of the males from the statehouse to the Congress to the churches cannot bring themselves to say ‘trans-vaginal.’
I expect the same squeamishness applies for any topic involving female contraception and its application as evidenced by the horribly ill-timed remark about the aspirin. Any conversation past cutsie expressions for condom use seems non-existent.
To make things a little easier: http://www.condomslogans.com/
Women will make their own decisions and they will force employers to back off on health care decisions. I have seen a ‘Women Spring’ arising. For the first time women who have heretofore assumed their rights were secure realize that perhaps what they thought was not quite accurate, based on a bevy of new laws slammed through statehouses nationwide, telling women what they are going to do about reproduction.
The dowagers like me will be there cheering them on and if the women bobbitt a few jerks along the way, so be it.
@Moon-howler
I’m with you all the way!!!!
Maybe a Lorena movement is next,
@Moon-howler
Moon, I guess the fact that I have daughters is what makes this thread interesting to me. Also, it’s a good thread to discuss Rush. I’ve had fun with that. That fact that the guys have had some fun with this should not make you feel we don’t take you or your concerns seriously. Admit it – when you throw out something like this do you really expect men not to take the bait and act like college guys at least a little? It’s all in good humor. No one has really made locker room statements – silly and immature perhaps, but not locker room.
@NTK, I suppose you don’t really see it as a threat to your daughters. I see it as a threat to my daughter and granddaughters and a very serious threat. That HB1 Personhood bill could easily make contraception illegal. The Blunt amendment nearly passed. These are things that affect women.
Let me personalize this–and my mother will probably haunt me for telling this publically. A month or so before she died she told me that when we lived in New Jersey she had to come back to Virginia to stock up on birth control. She was still furious, some 50 years later. She was one of those women who didn’t discuss things like that, especially with her children. I wads dumbfounded that she was discussing it with me.
Is that what we want for our daughters? I sure don’t and I have heard these pig legislators. They are stupid, chauvanistic, and really think they can call the shots. It is my duty to see that doesn’t happen, if for no other reason, in honor of my mother.
Women are never equal unless they control their own reproduction. Not having that control severely impacts a woman’s earning ability and independence.
I can remember those days and I will never have any of my off spring go back.
As for college boy talk…best kept in the locker room.
I was, along with other women, completely offended by Dave Albo’s stupid story about not getting laid by his wife.
Like I said, if you can’t even say the word VAGINAL, you sure as hell shouldn’t have any legislative power of them!
This isn’t a joke. Go Moon!
I agree that it’s not a joke. There are a lot of yahoos out there that need to be voted out of state, local, and fed positions – a few women as well as men. I find it preposterous that anyone thinks he or she should have a say in any woman’s health decisions other than suggestions made by her doctor. Hopefully, spouses or partners are in agreement about birth control, but ultimately it’s the individual woman who should decide.
A lot of this crap started with the “Moral Majority” – that preachy group that liked to think it had a monopoly on morals. Too many people didn’t speak out against it then and now we’re where we are – a sanctimonious minority (mainly male, mainly Southern fringe) thinking it can dictate to the majority.
@Censored
You bring up a good point and one I had forgotten about. the good old Moral Majority. Was that Jerry Falwell’s group? Too many people just thought they were silly. Playboy mocked them. But they were not take politically serious. Big mistake.
I walked away, thought, listened to msnbc, heard Krystal Ball on the subject.
What do I expect? Where is your outrage? Those of you with wives and daughters–where is your outrage that this disgusting pig is allowed to talk about someone’s daughter, girlfriend or wife like this? He has said even worse today.
This is not acceptable in civilized society. Limbaugh crossed the line. He N-worded all of us in essence.
M-h, you’re right that it’s not acceptable. I believe one out of four females in this country will be victims of a sexual assault or crime. Someone’s daughter, sister, wife, mother will be that person and the more society chuckles at crap like Limbaugh spews the more this crap is condoned. I think you guys that have responded so cavalierly need to look at your daughters and hope they’re not the future victims because society chuckles and thinks boys will be boys. Don’t think it can’t happen to your family. Two of my younger relatives have been victims of rape – one on her way home from high school and the other in a college dorm. My sisters and I have all seen clowns who exposed themselves whether in a car that pulled up beside us or at the public library. You men live in La La Land when it comes to thinking that your suburban neighborhoods are safe havens for your daughters. Chuckling at Limbaugh indirectly puts your own kiddos in danger.
Off topic, but I’ve been dying to ask: Why do you still call yourself “Censored bybvbl”? Lord Voldemort must smile when he visits. Move on, girl! Cast off those demons!
Lest she forgets what happened when the thugs came to town, I imagine.
@Emma
I’ve thought about changing it, but am too lazy so it can stay as a reminder of how information and public opinion is manipulated even on the local level. I think the dark side echo chamber is of such little importance that I probably run the risk of someone saying, “what’s bvbl?” (I left out the space so it shouldn’t give him much Google recognition.)
NOw that pressing question has been answered, is anyone going to disavow what Rash Slimeball has said? Where is the repudiation?
Cato. Spare some seed capital so that I can do a “CoEds of Georgetown Law School Calendar”?
I can run auditions at the end of the month. May even give 1% of profits to breast cancer research…….
