Arizona is rapidly becoming the model for bad behavior, from its governor’s bad grammar to its rude Ron Paul supporters.  have we left out oppressive abortion  and  immigration laws?

Far be it from me to take copy from Glenn Beck but this behavior has been documented everywhere on the internet.  According to the Blaze.com:

The state’s convention was to elect delegates for the national convention in August, where the former Massachusetts governor is expected to wrap up the nomination to take on President Barack Obama.

“We cannot afford four more years of President Obama,” said Josh Romney, the third of Mitt Romney’s five sons. “We need someone to step in there and turn things around.”

But Josh had to stop repeatedly as people booed and yelled for Paul, who has continued campaigning in the Republican primary. All other challengers, including Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, have dropped out of the race, and Romney has a commanding lead over Paul in the estimated delegate count.

But Paul supporters have begun flooding state conventions, recently winning control of delegate majorities in Nevada and Maine.

Josh Romney tried to pacify the crowd by taking a moment to recognize his father’s former rivals. It appeared to have little effect: Telling delegates to vote for his dad as he finished up, the crowd “exploded with competing boos and cheers, cutting him short.”

According to the Republic, some attendees said they heard Paul supporters chanting outside that Mitt Romney was “the white Obama.”

So help me out here.  Are the Ron Paul delegates just uncouth or is this something out of Arizona?  Mitt Romney has won the points needed for convention.  Doesn’t that count for anything?  All the candidates certainly spent loads of money and time attempting to secure this nomination.  Are Ron Paul people just anarchists who feel they don’t have to play by the rules?  Is this Arizona just once again showing bad behavior?

I would say its time for real Republicans to step up to the plate and smack these miscreants down.  They need to take back control of their party from several groups of people.  Might as well start here.

16 Thoughts to “Ron Paul supporters boo Romney son in AZ”

  1. SlowpokeRodriguez

“Smacking us Ron Paul miscreants down” is the fastest way to hand Obama four more years.

  2. Some Paul supporters deserve it. They don’t play well with others.

  3. I am going to agree with Cargo. There is just no point in rudeness. Romney’s son didn’t deserve that. He won.

Slow, I am not sure how you figure in rudeness handing Obama 4 more years. I don’t think that is a bad thing but I don’t think being rude to Romney is the solution to your woes.

I am one of those people who likes to have choices. If not Obama then Romney. I can live with that.

    @Cargosquid

Hells to the yah!! I’ve said this many times over. I refuse to vote for Romney. The GOP needs my vote more than I need the GOP. If they want 4 years of Obama they need only to nominate Romney.

Granted this is from a Paul site but interesting read.

Btw this is in error. “Mitt Romney has won the points needed for convention.”

  6. then why did everyone else quit?

Ok, you might be right. He is the apparent winner? How shall I say it?

  7. marinm

Paul is still in the race. Nothing has changed in the overall strategy.

  8. @marinm
    Marin,

I don’t have a problem with you not voting for Romney. That’s your prerogative. But Paul fans do have some “doesn’t play well with others” members that troll and obstruct more than other candidate’s supporters.

Paul has said that he’s still in the race, just not in the primaries anymore.
    Ok, then.

    1. Does anyone really think Ron Paul will become president? Shudder.

  9. Starryflights

I hear that a couple of Romeny and Paul supporters got into a fistfight at the Oklahoma convention. Paul’s supporters treat him as if he were some kind of deity, man. They practically worship the guy. There sure a lot of freakazoids in that there Repug party.

  10. Who knows what to expect from Oklahoma. Shudder. I believe the Romney folks are fairly polite other than in Oklahoma and that part is still rumor.

If there are fights going on at the state level, just wait until the Repugs national convention takes place. There could well be riots there, like the Dem convention in 68 that cost them the White House.

Isn’t this just the political way? If you do not get what you want from the voters, you just try to find another way to get what you want? Sadly, I do not think Ron Paul would win 1 state over any other candidate in a general election.

There arn’t enough real Paul supporters to make a difference in the election. They will not vote for Obama. On the other hand, if Paul himself becomes a problem and Obama wins, he and his son will deserve to be run out of town as a traitors – to his supporters, to the Party and to the Republic.

Hey, Moon, are you going to post an article on the Rev. Jerimiah Wright’s new book?

  14. @Starry, I am not sure I agree that the riots caused the Democrats to lose the WH in 1968. I am still thinking about that one though…..

  15. @Blue

Re Jeremiah Wright: NO. I have no plans to do anything that supports him.
