ALERT (from Prince William County Police Department)
The Prince William Public Safety Communications Center is currently unable to receive 911 call.
If you need police or fire & rescue services, call the non-emergency number at 703-792-6500.

The 911 situation is totally unacceptable. It isn’t the first time either. I remember a 4th of July night about 3 years ago when 911 went down.
There has to be a back up plan. This is one of those examples of cheapest isn’t always the best. Think about this situation next time you start whining about paying higher taxes.
The County/City need to drop the provider immediately and go with the most reliable, not the cheapest.
You cannot have a situation where there is no way to call fire, rescue or police. If I were a thug, guess what I would be doing?
It has been this way since shortly after 6 AM. That is 4 hours of dead time for 911.
I am just simply shocked that after the events of 9-11 this scenario would even be possible. Why is this not fixed? What disaster will have befall our community in order to ensure that emergency 911 is never unavailable. Barring a nuclear war, this is simply unacceptable.
LOL
There are too many places 911 is out. A back up plan is needed. For example, why can’t you call in an emergency on line?
Verizon, the fios kings, had nothing about outages on their web page. There was no way to communicate with them online. That needs to be fixed.
I had this wonderful Venn diagram math problem all worked out in my head based on which services various friends had working in their house.
I am happy to report that all my outages are now on-ages. Even the land line is back.
A huge thanks to Censored for going up against tech giant Verizon on my behalf.
Verizon Technical Support Services confirmed a voice and data outage for all wireless services for the entire Commonwealth. Verizon was unable to provide a restoration time.
Oddly enough, the trends in technology do not stress reliability, but “cost savings”.
