Michele Bachmann has done everything in her power to convince the American people that she has no class.  Bachmann has written letters to at least 5 inspector  generals calling  for an investigation of  Huma Abedin, top ranking aid to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and wife of former Congressman Anthony Weiner.  Bachmann alleges family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.  One such link cited is Huma’s father, who has been deceased for 2 decades.  Ms. Abedin is an American Muslim.

Many top ranking mainstream Republicans have recoiled in horror at Bachmann’s suggestions that Huma is anything but a loyal American  and have publicly denounced the Congresswoman’s allegations.

Senator John McCain defended Huma Abedin on the floor of the Senate:

McCain said on the Senate floor: “Huma represents what is best about America: the daughter of immigrants, who has risen to the highest levels of our government on the basis of her substantial personal merit and her abiding commitment to the American ideals that she embodies so fully.”

John Boehner and Marco Rubio also got in the act of defending Huma.  Most decent people are horrified that such accusations are being thrown around about a women that most people respect deeply.  There has been no regard for fact or fairness.

Its good to see decent Republicans calling out the clown squad in their party.  They set a good example in doing so.  Its time for more of this to happen.  In the long run, mainstream Republicans will be the winners.

13 Thoughts to “Boehner, McCain exibit class, defend Huma Abedin… Michele Bachmann, not so much”

Yeah, Bachmann toooootally stepped in it! Bachmann is sort of “our Nancy Pelosi”.

    1. Yea, Slowpoke, I can’t really disagree with that comparison. If Bachmann is now a swiss miss, why can’t we demand she resign from Congress?

  2. Elena

Nah, Michele Bachman is in her own class of “crazy” Slow. Its one thing to differ on policy, its another to be bat s##t tcrazy! Let’s not forget, Bachamen wanted an investigation into congressional members for treasonous activity. And that was BEFORE she ran for President in the primary! If you can give me a similar comparison where Pelosi wanted investigations into people for simply being a different ethnicity or political party I may see your point. I’m not seeing an equal comparison, at all.

    1. Pelosi does crazy talk sometimes. She doesn’t impliment crazy. You are right, Elena. You might disagree with her policy…strongly…but it isn’t insane. What comes out of her mouth…can’t vouch for that. She has had me cringing a time or two for sure and I know I am not alone.

  3. “She doesn’t impliment crazy.”

    Sure she does. Obamacare. 😈

    1. That is a policy you disagree with, even though you have no health coverage. Want to walk back who is crazy on THIS one?

  4. SlowpokeRodriguez

To say Pelosi is not insane….well, I understand….you have to defend her at all cost….and label everyone who doesn’t agree “hyper-partisan” in the process. We all know how that works.

    1. I never defend Pelosi. However, disagreeing with policy is not the same as accusing someone who is a trusted civil servant and one who is well respected by the responsible members of both parties, of being a muslim extemist.

Slow, I am not a fan of Pelosi, so, I am just asking for a same event that equates to the McCarthy like behavior of Pelosi. Lets not forget, she also said the the HPV vaccine caused retardation!

  6. SlowpokeRodriguez

I’ll put it to you this way….they say you can’t judge a book by its cover. That’s not entirely accurate. Bachmann and Pelosi both have that “eyes wide open and swiveling around separately from each other” look. And in both cases, your judgement based on that look is likely correct.

  7. SlowpokeRodriguez

Is should be a safe assumption, then, and Wasserman-Schultz had two helpings of HPV Vaccine.

  8. Elena

From your inane response Slow, I guess your answer is you could come up with nothing as a relevant comparison.

when a sitting Congresswoman applies for Citizenship of another country, you really have to wonder what she was thinking. She has proven once again what she is really made of.
