First Lady, Michelle Obama, brought a person, refined, regal story to the microphone. Perhaps her speech is the best FL speech I have heard in my lifetime and I have been through a LOT of first ladies.
Ann Romney also did a wonderful job. She and Ann ought to team up and run for office.
Is it fair to compare the two ladies? Both have very different backgrounds. Their life stories are different. Both are mothers. Both are strong women married to powerful men.
She gave an outstanding speech. She connects with struggling, middle class Americans in ways that Mitt Romney, a man of privilege, will never be able to do.
You didn’t mean for that to be funny, did you?
@Starryflights
Hmmm…that’s funny.
I’m a struggling middle class American. How am I supposed to relate to her again as opposed to Romney? Please explain.
Obama – $11 million
Romney – $200 million
BOTH are millionaires.
Once you get past that first million, I don’t relate to either one.
I know how Romney got rich. How, exactly, did Obama earn $11 million dollars?
@Cargosquid
What, wait, are you telling me that I cannot relate to a free Haarvaard education in womans studies and black studies, or an amazing rise in health care legal work and salary once my husband went to the State Capital or that my neighbor – who I hardly knew – was willing to finance my million dollar home. I can relate to gettin over why can’t you? It is in the tradition of Jesse, and the Rev Al that Barry went into community organizing, for the people you know, not in the tradition of a unpaid missionary or business start up that gave and still gives over 10% like Romney that we must relate to.
No I relate to Michelle in just the same way as I relate to Barry, who has no records or a social security number, who never met a payroll, never formed a public budget and never heard a word while sitting in church for 20 years.
Blue, your remarks are offensive and bordering on racist.
There is no place for that on this blog.
Obviously if you have ever been to church you never heard a word either. I can’t think of any churches that preach the kind of smut you bring to this blog.
My dad has total crush on Michelle Obama! Her speech was amazing. Her parents were hard workers, classic middle class, along with Obama’s upbringing. They remind you, that with hard work, and determination, anything is possible.
@Moon-howler
Ah, yea, see there you go again, calling folks racist to cover the ugly truth. Now, if I called you a racist for giving out the facts or even just telling it like you see it, I know what would happen. Actually, I really am impressed by Michelle and Barry for what they have been able to do. But, that not important because it was such a great speech to relate to. As the Dems celebrate a guy who today would still be in prison, a fomer President famous only for his malaise speech, an abuser or worse of women and now I understand are having an overtly illegal (sorry –undocumented resident) speak before the convention, I just hope this conversion goes on and on. Single issue voter or not, you must be proud.
I certainly hope you aren’t a proDuct Of Prince William CouNty Schools. What earth are you talking about?
I probably won’t throw you off. Too eNtertAining.
I was very pleased with the convention, if that is what you are asking. It pretty much covered all my issues. Did you see Tammy Duckworth the other night? Wasn’t she great?
I thought the speech was amazing. I teared up. It was positive and it gave to hope for a better kinder future. It was a nice from all the name calling. I have no idea what blue was watching. This speech will be remembered.
Agreed, Tac! She really was magnificent. Her parents were also amazing people and made great sacrifices.
correction: Nice change
