Maryland fans and followers found out over the weekend that the Board of Regents was voting today on a major move for all UMD athletics.  The University of Maryland is a charter member of the prestigious Atlantic Coast Conference.  To leave the ACC for the Big Ten is simply stupid and it will coast the school over $50 million.

Rationale behind this proposal is sketchy at best and fans have had little time to mount an offensive against this move.  A group has formed on Facebook to oppose leaving the ACC.  Keep UMD in the ACC.

Call 301-445-1911 or 301-445-2701 to voice your opposition.  The regents vote today.

3 Thoughts to “Keep UMD in the ACC–no big 10”

  1. Steve Randolph

Sounds like a good idea to me.

At last Purdue would have someone else in the conference
besides IU that they could beat in football on a regular basis.
    Go BOILERS!

(Adding Md. and Rutgers turns the Big Ten into the Bigger Fourteen)

I think this is a done deal, announcement at 3:00 pm.

    1. It was announced this morning. Alums had no warning. No chance really to respond.
