Thursday night and Friday morning will be a great time to view the Geminid Meteor shower. This year’s light show might be extra special. There might be a meteor shower from a lesser known comet, Comet Wirtanen, at the same time. If things go as predicted, stargazers might very well see 150 meteors per hour!
We just have to wish away those clouds. There will be no moon interference.

Robert Bork has died. He was “borked” and not confirmed for the Supreme Court under Reagan.
@Cargosquid
Bob Marshall is slapping a bill before the General Asssembly mandating it.
I would quit my job if I was a teacher and it were forced on me. I would also sue.
not that any of this is feasible (wrt schools) – and how about the malls, the Temples and other places that these wackos have attacked – do we go back to the good ole day’s of yore and all open carry?? I think not.
@Pat.Herve
We can continue with the existing system of a sign providing a magical shield against violence. Oh wait. We tried that. It didn’t work.
I agree with Cargo that we have to control insane people- like Bob Marshall!!
@Moon-howler
Even though I support the idea of voluntary carry… I would sue.
@Pat.Herve
People already carry there, openly and concealed…
@Cargo, yea its sort of like no longer a right if you are forced to do it.
@Moon-howler
In each of your examples of 1st amendment rights….. someone is abusing the right. Keeping and bearing does not infringe on another. Only misusing the right does.
I maintain that the 2A is not unlimited. As long as there are arms people may arm themselves with, I think we are covered.
Some gun enthusiasts think that amendment gives them the right to have the equivalent of nuclear war heads. I do not.
@Moon-howler
Do you know how many ATF forms you need to fill out to have one of those puppies???? Big pain in the ass and the taxes make it so not worth it.
And then mandatory UN inspections..
I think it’s cool that people were able to make fully functional gunships but for 10-15 years ago.
@marinm
UN inspectors never find anything. Go ahead.
Here’s something completely different.

I can’t look at that stuff. I have very bad acrophobia.
Did you see the picture of Everest this morning?
Full page ad in the N & M today. Prince William Today. Your new newspaper. Coming Jan. 2013. Local news delivered in print and daily online. $39/year. [email protected]. http://www.princewilliamtoday.com.
Thanks Cindy. That’s a lot less expensive than I am paying now for News and Messenger.
Is that 5 day delivery?
On second thought, maybe it isn;t. Weekly is once a week? When I first moved here, the Journal Messenger, or Jungle Rag which is what we all used to call it, came out 3 days a week, I believe. I just can’t remember, it has been so long ago.
We are regressing.
Weekly in print, daily on line.
New stuff each day?
@Moon-howler
Everest?
@Cargosquid
Yes it was in the washington post the other day.
Missed it. What was it?
so, this thing called the Fiscal Cliff came out of left field – no body was expecting it. But luckily, we have Boehner to thank for trying to kick it down the road a little more. Congress failed to act on Sequestration, yet, they want to do it again…..
The Republicans were very busy passing anti abortion laws. Surely you understand. 🙄
