sunflower field

Damn it’s hot out.  I hate to see the electric bill next month.  However, these guys flourish in hot weather.  There are neat sunflowers in several yards on Liberia near Point of Woods.  Where are there others?  Every year I want to grow them and then I forget to plant them.

Grrrrrrr.  I bought little ones one year and set them out on the steps, all neat-like with cute little cans for pots.  Within an hour they were headless.  I found the gray, bushy tailed culprit walking across the driveway with a nice head of sunflower in his mouth.  I don’t know why I even bother.  $20 bucks worth of squirrel dessert.

    “mpm-trivial” should read “non-trivial”. Looks like I need a home-schooled typing class.

    1. I don’t see how any parent has the academic skills to teach a kid all the way through high school. I know I sure couldn’t.

And they barely read, comprehenion is an unknown skill and well, no point to address grammer.

I noticed you failed to address their spelling abilities, or lack thereof.

    1. Let he who is without typo sin cast the first stone.

I just bet they loved you in third grade. NOT.

    @Cato the Elder
I was going to comment on the same, but abstained (too nice)

  4. Lyssa

How cute. You type with my new glasses.

  5. Friar Tuck

The Sheriff has been caught in lies and he doesn’t admit it, correct, or apologize to those he has harmed.

I wonder why he has such strict standards for everyone else when it is him who has the forked tongue.

  6. Friar Tuck

A particular bloggers if spewing bull scheize all over the place on those he dislikes.

A quick check with vpap.org shows that Mr. Nohe has not taken as much developer money as some of the others, including a few of that blogger’s pets.

That plank in the eye gets ya every time, knave!

  7. Mom

Although he has not accepted as much as Wally or Corey, the total figure is greater than $100,000 which is nearly the entirety of the contributions to the Supervisor you refer to as a pet. It would thus seem that it is you “spewing bull scheize” on those you dislike. This isn’t meant as a defense of any blogger but rather a clarification as to where Marty’s loyalties lie.

  8. Friar Tuck

don’t expect anyone to call Saint Wally out from the knave forest. He has sprouted a halo.
Marty has been a political figure a lot longer than Candland. How about comparing apples to apples from 2011-2013.

Nohe’s donations from the real estate industry: $22,357 and business $1,860.

Candland’s donations from the real estate industry: $36,554 and business $2,250.

What is it that you were saying about bull scheize?

Marty looks darn right spartan. That doesn’t matter to certain bloggers. Facts are generally ignored in favor of the chosen ones.

    1. I’ve noticed that halo also. It just goes to show that you can go from devil to angel in .6 seconds. The reverse is also true. Look at the new halos on both Jenkins and Covington. I am blinded by the light.

As for lying…I have been lied to some who will go unnamed. Truthfully, I am not sure it can be helped.

  9. Mom

If you take VPAP figures at face value that is the number you get, if you look a little deeper you will find that the number is actually north of $25,000. That being said, an apples to apples comparison is almost impossible, as you note, Marty was an incumbent in the last election and sitting on a warchest with $47,933 in it, nearly half of which was from the development industry. Further, Marty had no real challenger in the primary and none in the general so there was no need to amass contributions on the scale those with opponents were required to. Don’t try and bullshit a bullshitter by manipulating the statistics to your favor, I can play that game as well.

  10. Mom

Or perhaps you want to look at the four year period leading up to the previous election where more than 2/3 of his contributions came from the development industry. Is that closer to an apples to apples comparison, Simpleton.

    I await your punishment Moon.

    1. You can’t make your point without name-calling?

Very few people give back money. He’s no worse than most of them. Now if he was accepting money from Jonnie Williams or the mafia, then I might sit up and take notice. The real estate industry…doesn’t even raise an eyebrow. The county is a bedroom community and it was when I came here back when God was a child and dirt was forming on this earth.

If the politicians sit around and wait for the farmers to give them money, its going to be a short campaign season.

      That’s the reality.

  12. Just letting you guys know:
Americans in Wartime Museum 2013 Open House
    10 a.m. to 4 p.m., August 17 and 18
    “The Tank Farm”
13906 Aden Road in Nokesville, Virginia

    http://www.nmaw.org/events/?utm_source=Open+House+2013&utm_campaign=Museum+Open+House&utm_medium=email

Since you guys were interested in all the wheelings and dealings, thought you might like to see what’s involved…..AND get to see tanks! Bring the kids!

    1. This is the old site of the tanks. The museum has not opened at the new site. In fact, it hasn’t even been started to my knowledge. I don’t think they have the funds to start it. This is another one of those areas I just don’t think local government should be supporting.

  13. Big happenings down the street from me. Someone shot and killed across from Splashdown on drug issues we think. Feds and local law enforcement involved.

  14. @Moon-howler
Oh, I wasn’t saying that this was the new museum…just that you might like to see what supposed to go there and have fun with tanks.

    I agree….no gov’t money.

Note in the September 2013 issue of Consumer Reports a national
report that gives hospital surgery ratings. Prince William Hospital
was in the top eight (out of 48) in Virginia.
