At 10:35 you still can’t get down to this area off of Lafayette Avenue. The tour buses are still pouring in to Splashdown, however, which is right across the street. A Howlings roving reporter said there were about 25 law enforcement cars down there, both fed and local.
Here is an update from Inside Nova:
Gunfire erupted in a Prince William neighborhood early Thursday morning after federal authorities were attempting to serve a warrant.
A spokesman for the DC Homeland Security Investigations said the Special Response Team was serving a federal search and arrest warrant on child pornography charges around 6 a.m. in the 9000 block of Covington Place when shots were exchanged.
The person named in the warrants, Douglas Clayton Lewis, “died at the scene from a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound,” the spokesman said
This shooting doesn’t sound very immigration related to me.

Press Release from PWC Police:
Death Investigation – On August 1st at 6:30AM, Prince William County Police responded to assist members of the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force and Homeland Security with the execution of a search warrant and an arrest warrant at an address in the 9500 block of Covington Pl in Manassas (20109). As federal agents approached the home, they encountered the suspect exiting the residence. The suspect ignored commands by the agents and fled down an alleyway in between two townhomes. Agents confronted the suspect in the alleyway, at which point, he brandished a handgun and pointed it towards the agents. One of the agents fired at that suspect, striking him the lower body. The suspect then ran behind a fence area where he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported. Detectives from the Prince William County Violent Crimes Bureau are investigating the death aspect of this investigation. For further information on the search warrant itself, please contact Homeland Security Investigations. The investigation continues.
Identified:
The suspect was been identified as Douglas Clayton LEWIS, 56, of 9580 Covington Pl in Manassas
The main drag going to the site was lit up this morning with all sorts of first responder vehicles.
I had been watching the Sopranos and thought it was them. Little did I know….
Check out the small arsenal being hauled out of this place where the alleged porno dude lived.
The house was raided 10 months ago.

Wow!! Glad I live at the complete opposite end of Lafayette. Just watched channel 9. It’s not like this guy wasn’t on their radar, if they were just there 10 months ago. Well, less perv in the ‘hood and next to one of the biggest summer attractions in the summer, BenLomond(SplashDown to newcomers). All the neighbors said he was a “nice guy”. smdh
Except the computer he was fixing for the woman and it got taken 10 months ago..and then he avoided her.
Hell of a nice child molester…ooops pornographer.
He is a dead one now.
I had been watching the Sopranos early and fell back asleep. I dreamed Tony was chasing someone when all the fleet zoomed past, sirens shrieking….and I opened an eye and decided it was Tony Soprano and went back to sleep.
Kudo’s to FOX for correctly reporting this as being in Prince William County.
But Steve, it has that Manassas address. If someone shot up my house, I would report it as Manassas.
Moon, Who do you pay taxes to? Vote for in local elections? What school
system do the children on your street attend? Don’t you live in the Gainesville
District of PWC? Your mailing address makes no difference except to the
Post Office.
Know it can be confusing, but you legally live in PWC and if someone shot
up your house and you called 911 – they would send PWC police.
My issue is that lazy and/or inept reporters keep reporting every crime
in all of western PWC as “in Manassas” and that hurts the City of Manassas.
If someone doesn’t say something, they will keep on doing it.
