I followed the first trail as EVERYONE ( how could you not) if the glove doesn’t fit you must…
Anyway, I thought he was guilty back then and watched the MEDIA portray him to what I believed. I have not followed the recent case. With that being said ( as a White chick, Mackie) I find all kinds of questions and ARROGANCE shown of the judge. What happens in Vegas baby, LOL within the first 5 minutes of this video.
I hear welcome to ‘Big Brother” and when she talks about a statement that OJ made about the Goldman’s being Gold digger’s , I have to question the fact that OJ was proven innocent in criminal court. The Goldman’s took it to civil. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, he is innocent and the MEDIA played everything out????? Anyway, the first 5 mins. of this video is very telling when looking through Mackie’s eyes ( as I am trying to understand) LOL
Roll tape 2. 🙂
One more thing before I see tape 2. The judge started off with the question of that she wanted to know if OJ was arrogant , ignorant or BOTH. Her delivery and question turned me off.To be one or all 3 is NOT a crime and I think it SPEAKS of her prejudgment. Of course, this is not following the case and evidence. I am just turned off by her body language and using the what happens in Vegas crap….. 🙂
If he is innocent, I have a bridge for sale. The evidence was there. Everything was done to cloud the issues.
I agree. He is arrogant and ignorant.
I agree Red Dawn. There is something about her that turns me off as well. Was her whole spiel something. Just give the guy his sentence and be done with it. She’s relishing the fact that she gets the last word.
And while discussing ignorant and arrogant, check out the darkside. The black velvet chief insists that the DC Examiner verifies that the Immigration Resolution is working.
The black velvet chief refuses to acknowledge we support the 287G program and do not want criminals roaming free committing crimes. Illegal immigrants turned over to ICE have committed crimes. The original Immigration Resolution wanted the police to find, identify, and deport anyone found who was not here legally.
Don’t you love how the worm turns?
Yes, I was also disturbed with the way she said what she said. It seemed personal, almost vindictive, instead of professional. It seemed out of place for a court and undignified for words by which you will be sentencing someone to 33 years.
At the end of the clip she evens talks about his verdict from 13 years ago and goes out of the way to say she doesn’t care about that. Why did she feel she needed to go there? Guilty conscious? Just referencing the verdict from 13 years ago clouds the appearance of her impartiality.
I don’t care if she was vicious or if she pontificated. Was she any worse than that clown who handled the Anna Nicole Smith 3 ring circus? All I could think of is his arrogance and defiance of court orders and the Goldmans sitting there. They have been powerless even though their son was chopped up like someone took a ginsu knife to him. I didn’t feel a bit sorry for him. He is a sorry POS in my opinion. He could have had it all, and he chose to be a thug instead of the great person he could have been.

MH,
You nailed it in your post at 2:32am.
The judge is the person to get the last word, and as it should be. These are the last words one hears before going to jail. The prisoners should hear some strong words before their stay in the big house. One would you would think about those words while in jail.
Don’t get me started on that sniveling judge in the Anna Nicole case. He was just absolutely sickening.
Mackie,
UFB!!
For once I’m in 100% agreement with one of your youtubes. This trooper should receive the “worst person” award of the year. I’ve only heard of stories of officers helping pregnant women. I’m sorry for this woman. I really don’t think this is something that’s happening on a daily basis. This trooper is on sick S.O.B. in my book.
corr: One would *THINK* You would think about those words while in jail.
Hi Karla,
I, along with most other, are AGAINST illegal immigration. We are FOR humane and reasonable immigration reform, we are FOR standing up and speaking out against the dehumanization of our fellow human beings( i.e calling them cockroaches and parasites), no matter what their status.
I would agree, who cares about BVBL and their views, except that at one time Greg was able to influence the policy of an entire county.
Mackie,
I saw that story on CNN the other night. Clearly, having been through labor twice, it is pretty apparent when you are pregnant and in labor! I would love to hear what the officer has to say on this one. If he is married, with kids, I imagine his wife probably served him dinner cold that night 🙂
Now now, Elena. Don’t be jealous. You wouldn’t want Santa to write your name in the Naughty List, would you? ¡Feliz Navidad! 🙂
PS: I may not be looking in the right post, but where is your coverage about the illegal alien that raped a 10-year-old?
Belle, Apparently you didn’t see what I wrote. We aren’t going to do ‘coverage’ of that atrocity so don’t hold your breath waiting for it. It was covered on bvbl and it was covered in the blog section of insidenova.com.
Feel free to hunt around the blog and see my position on it. I am not going to find it for you. It was very explicit however and should leave no doubt in your mind about the position of this blog.
FYI, I read both BVBL and Anti-BVBL. I have already read BVBL’s comments, and I’d only wanted read what Anti-BVBL had to say. Lo siento for wasting su tiempo.
Unintended C, I am in agreement with the majority of the county and the majority of the members of this blog. It doesn’t matter at this point what the Lorde of the Black Velvet says anymore. He has been written off by nearly everyone on the Board of Supervisors, all but on legislator in Richmond, and everyone in the Republican party who still wants to be relevant.
The fact that Gospel Greg still thinks he has an ounce of respect in Virginia is about as interesting as the fact that O.J. still thinks he’s innocent. Doesn’t surprise me. Doesn’t matter.
Belle, as I suggested before, look around for it. I commented either Thurs or Friday about that story. You didn’t take my time. We are just not on the defensive. Look around, its on here somewhere, no more than 2 days old.
M-H, anyone who comes on here with nothing to offer other than a comparison between this blog and the old blog is obviously more interested in the rivalry between the new blog and the old blog than any of the issues the county is facing.
I can understand why you feel the need to address false claims, especially when they are so obviously and easily disprovable. But just consider the source. You’re talking about someone who still reads the old blog despite the fact that it’s been exposed for editing comments to fit a extremist right wing view, and, to make matters worse, affords it some credibility.
Mackie, I’m sure that trooper is going to face disciplinary action. Not everyone in law enforcement is on a power trip, but I agree, this guy was way out of line.
A young man pled guilty to beating another man with a baseball bat in a murder for hire scheme. We also will NOT delve into that case. The News and Messenger adequately handled it. There is also a place there for comments. The date was 12/4/08. Strange that a murder for hire plot isn’t the talk of the town. Additionally, a Phys. Ed. teacher at Brentsville High School was arrested for having sexual contact with 2 students. More outrageous behavior. At this point, I don’t believe we plan to have a thread on this unacceptable behavior.
The point of these comments, of course, it to notify that we do not run threads on every crime committed. If readers would like to discuss further, go for it.
NGL,
Haha, and what will you do about it if he doesn’t?
And someone could ask you Mackie, and what are you going to do about all the injustices you post in those wacky youtubes. Good Lord man, have you or a loved one been a victim of police brutality? Or do just hold contempt in your heart for all LEO’s for no just cause?
Chris,
I think the more appropriate question is why you engage in classic white denial when you see systematic injustice against people of color?
Mackie,
No I do not suffer from “classic white denial” one bit. I’m just curious as to why you always post those types of youtubes. Now, I did tell you thank you for posting the sorry S.O.B trooper.
I believe systematic injustices against all people of color, and I believe this includes the color white too.
I’m not trying to be B**ch here, just curious. I certainly accept your not wanting to answer as well. I’m not trying to be confrontational btw.
corr: I believe systematic injustices *AGAINST ALL PEOPLE OF* color, and I believe this includes the color white too.
Mackie,
Man, you are too much, and I’m in awe of your comments sometime.
I meant to say. No, I do NOT suffer from “classic white denial”.
Grrr! I guess I should just go back to ignoring you as usual, but I do try to be fair and consider all points of view.
Classic white denial. hmmmm….I find that offensive. It is broad brushing by race.
Do you honestly think that white people never have bad experiences with police officers?
The victim mentality is getting over-played. It is more like black velveteen mentality.
Black velveteen? I have no idea what that means.
However if you’d like an example of the denial, here is a classic example of how deep the denial can run:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drapetomania
That’s justification, not denial. The white race certainly doesn’t own the market on justication of behavior. Historically, all races have justified behaviors. Bad behavior is bad behavior.
Velveteen is a cheaper grade of velvet. [wink wink] Usually machine washable and hung out to dry on the line.
No M-H, it is denial in the guise of science, a denial so deep it is mind-numbing.
Chris, you asked what I’m doing about the injustices and I say that I’m doing it. The systematic bigotry in our country is allowed to go on day after day largely because of the denial of white people. If they acknowledged that the problem was systematic as opposed to the comfortable myth of ‘just a few bad apples’ then there would be a chance to make some real change.
For example, notice how white people support 287(g). However, you never hear them equally demand the creation of concrete checks in the system that immigrants can easily and confidently use to punish those police who engage in abuse. No, white people vote to turn all these people of color over to the police, one of the most historically and provably racist institutions in our nation’s history. White people turn the people of color over and then walk away. Then when the abuse occurs that all the people of color were warning them about, they retreat into the ‘it’s just a few bad apples’ myth.
Mackie,
I know people of color and legal immigrants that supported the original resolution. Those folks that have had their civil rights violated or were treated unfairly can certainly report their injustices. We have a Human Rights Commission for crying out loud, and in addition the PWPD would investigate in such claims made against them.
You must admit that there are “bad apples” in every group. You just insist on blainge everything on the “white man” and police. Put your broad brush away, and paint a more realistic picture, and perhaps some will take you more seriously. Just my two cents.
corr: You just insist on BLAMING everything on the “white man” and police.
Mackie, I think you are blind to everything but your own cause. Bad things happen to white people also. Ever tried being a West Virginian? How about a teenager?
You make it hard to have a discussion because you want to blame everything on white people. That is just too divisive for me.
Well, who else is responsible?
Every other race, nationality, religion, etc., and including the whites are to blame. God, don’t you every give up or consider for one second anyone besides the whites to blame for anything?Just give it up. You really paint yourself as full of hate for whites. Now, I’m not going to say what some might call it. It really makes no difference to me.
I don’t hate whites, but I do despise the denial they constantly manifest about the systematic racism all around them. One need only look at the statistics of the war on drugs to see cold hard proof. At least a few at LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition) have come to their senses about the evil of the drug war. Why do these former police chiefs, officers, judges, etc. speak about the need to do penance? Because they realized they were part of an evil machine. Because they realize what they did under the color of the law was a crime. They ruined people’s lives.

The resolution in our county is not something extraordinary. It is consistent with what white people have been doing and are still doing to people of color. The resolution is not extraordinary, it’s only new.
