9500Liberty will present a special screening to mark the 1st anniversary of Prince William County’s Immigration Resolution.

Thursday July 10th, 7:00 PM
Casablanca Restaurant 7911 Centreville, RD, Manassas, VA

9500Liberty is cutting together an hour-long presentation featuring recent events, many of which are too politically sensitive to share on YouTube. The screening will challenge some of the misleading rhetoric that has been circulating in recent days and weeks, and will include some surprising footage that could shift Prince William County’s political landscape for the better.

We hope to see you there! Make sure to invite your friends!

375 Thoughts to “A Special Screening of 9500 Liberty Documentary”

  1. Moon-howler

Mackie, I should do that. I have threatened for years.

I believe you about the Lowes on the Parkway. There are a few fossils up at Manassas Lowes like that. Home improvement stores seem to attract these enclaves of older men who feel it is their right to choose who to wait on and who not to…. Sort of old relics from a hardware store …who might call a male they didn’t care for ‘sonny boy’ or ignore a woman because they were crossing that threshold in to ‘men’s business.’

  2. Moon-howler

Juturna, Make that the 29 corridor. Darn right BBQ is a noun, although the 29 corridor is not where I did my bbq eating. I did eat backbone pie on the 29 corridor.

Chris, I have had many an oyster, and many a clam, but fried clams with the bellies still on them are totally gross. How about dungeness crab? Now that is good eating.

  3. Juturna

MH. You are just downright anti whole clams.
What the heck is spine pie?

  4. Chris

    MH,
I eat just about anything from the water. So dungeness, king crab, Maryland blues are all “A-OK” in my book. What’s your beef with the bellies?
My mom used serve boiled pork back bones and they were a favorite. However, I’ve never heard of backbone pie. Please, tell us what the heck it is?

  5. Emma

How about a grinder, and a cabinet for dessert, Juturna?

  6. Emma

Sorry, I’ve been eating and drinking all weekend. I cant focus on the issues…

  7. Juturna

She is a weenie. Has to eat pie to get a spine.

  8. Emma

    can’t, I mean

  9. Emma

And those bellies are good eatin’, MH.

  10. Juturna

Get out! Make my cabinet chocolate and NO mayo ever on a grinder.

Or a frank and a frappe?

  11. Chris

    Juturna,
You are on a roll tonight.
I loved that “what the heck is spine pie”? I want to know what it is.
I love grinders, but what’s a cabinet? Or Emma, can you help me out with the dessert?

  12. Juturna

Milkshake. Only used in RI. Won’t hear it anywhere else.

August in RI = steamers, corn on the cob and big juicy tomatoes. Best meal in the world.

  13. Chris

    Juturna,
Thanks. Well, it certainly is a “code name” for milkshake.
August sounds delicious in RI. Sounds like you grew up eatin’ good. 🙂

  14. @WHWN

Nothing about PC or anything, I just CANNOT STAND those pauses where the fighting seems to die away, the sappy music comes up and every soldier seems to find five minutes to make a speech before they die. It is not realistic to an event that should be portrait as true to life as possible so our kids can remember how scary it was and not be deluded into thinking that in all American Conflicts there is a background score and plenty of time to make prophetic speeches in between bullets from an enemy without a personality.

This is why I watch “Torah Torah Torah” on Dec. 7th and really hate “The Patriot” and “Gettysburg.” “Saving Private Ryan” is alright, but “Band of Brothers” can get a little sappy too.

In my personal view, I think it does a discredit to the actual soldiers and events in the long run. The memory of their sacrifices would would be more ingrained in me if the events played out more true to form, Epic Music and Speeches aside, unless there was epic music and speeches being played at the time. But that’s just my personal taste, I know they make these films the way they do so that they can win over a more sensitive audience, and on the darker side, assure the public that war is not as gruesome as it really is.

If you want some films that capture the spirit of warfare try “Das Boot” or “Apocalypse Now”.

“Munich” also gives you that feeling, but that is a different kind of war.

  15. Juturna

I had a large family. We lived on the water and did a lot of clamming ourselves. It was hard work when you didn’t want to do it! And you get a lot of little cuts.

I remember being with my cousin in NY and being asked if I wanted my shake with or without ice cream. WTH? Being a little southern girl at the time, I’d never heard of a shake sans ice cream.

rod2155, I saw “Das Boot” with my dad who was a submariner in WWII and he thought it was the best war movie he had seen. In fact he saw it several times.

  17. Emma

Rod, I agree that “The Patriot” is about the stupidest war movie ever. “Das Boot” is awesome.

Juturna, you get five extra points tonight if you can fill in the blank here: “You’ll smack your lips if it’s ____!”

  18. Emma

And I remember when I first moved down here to go to college. I went into a McDonalds and asked for a coffee shake. They looked at me as if I had three heads.

A couple weeks ago I was going through my mother’s old photo album from the late 40s or early 50s and found a bunch of pictures of one of the family clam steams. My parents would steam the clams, chicken, potatoes(?) all together. It made for great tasting clams and some of the most disgustingly pale chicken I’ve ever seen. Then they’d swill a lot of beer and have sack and relay races.

  20. Boy are you guys chatty today! LOL!

My grandfather used to collect muscles and periwinkles off the shores of Cape Cod. He would eat them raw and offer us some. Have to say….way too salty and snotty for me! I like my seafood cooked, thank you.

    Frappes all the way…..

And Disney is sexist. Besides that, they have terrible commercials aimed at the kids. Most stations do, but I expected better from Disney. Poor Walt. Rolling over in his Mouse Eared grave.

  21. Censored bybvbl

KG, my oldest cousin was the only family kiddo who would eat a raw clam or oyster. I like my clams somewhere between raw and rubbery.

Has anyone been to Bertha’s in Fells Point? It has (or at least used to have) great mussels. And also an interesting bar.

  22. Bring it On

Could the ‘surprising’ footage have to do with film shot at the daylaborer site on Saturday morning? Could it show our Chairman actively supporting the HSM group and their antics against loiterers?

And, doesn’t Chairman Stewart have anything more pressing to do on the 4th of July weekend than to participate in these vigilante activities?

  23. Firedancer

Chris, somewhere up there you wondered if foxes were appearing because of the chickens. There are no chickens anywhere near where I live, except in the poultry section of the supermarket, but we have lots of foxes. Last month I was riding my bike on a trail, and a fox came trotting towards me just as comfortable as could be. I was scared since it could have rabies but it was acting normal, and darted into the bushes just as our paths crossed. Our area has a resurgence of foxes, and I hope they will start controlling the bunny population, as there are way too many even though they are cute.

  24. Alanna

    Bring it On,
I’m going to start a new topic thread to discuss these allegations.

  25. Emma

You have to drink a lot of beer to eat raw oysters. They taste better and better the more you drink.

  26. Bring it On, where did you get that information? This would be huge news, of course, if true. But I seriously doubt it. Corey Stewart knows all too well that Help Save Manassas is a political albatross of his own making, and that story about Gospel Greg dressing up in military fatigues, starting an altercation at the 7 Eleven, and getting chased down by Officer Sanchez is well known inside the McCourt building.

Corey Stewart is immoral, incompetent, and shortsighted, but he’s not stupid.

  27. NotGregLetiecq

Bring it On, were you there? Did you see it yourself? That would be so great if there’s video of Corey Stewart with a tight Red Circle T-shirt on!!!! Perhaps it is not a coincidence that a 9500 Liberty screening was suddenly announced only hours after “HSM Garbage Patrol Saturday.” Hmmmm…..

  28. Bring it On

    Everyone,

Let’s just say that I have it from a very reliable source.

  29. michael

I’m more inclinded to believe the Liberty Media “event” is more along the lines of the previous 9500 Liberty films, a series of scripted and story-boarded “clips” that take events and “factual” things out of context and piece them together in such a way as to “implicate” or “suggest” a wrong doing when none exists. It is media “manipulation” of the ignorant and gullble. If will make you “feel” good if you support their “ideology” but do little to advance truth and factual reporting of un-biased and equitable viewpoints typical of good journalism, rather than media propoganda. 9500 Liberty is simply a propoganda unit with a camera and a “grudge” axe to grind. You only have to see thier past documentaries to see this bias and series of “suggestive” manipulation themes.

None of you seem to understand that our community leadership is actualy smarter than most of you and above your feeble antics to dis-credit. They are simply enforcing the will of the majority of citizens who want the existing “illegal” immigration stopped, and stopped permanantely, by simply enforcing the existing law (and a just and fair law blind to gender, raqce, religion and ethnic group) issues you all claim its has as a fundamental flaw, due to your own ignorance of the law, and how laws should be enforced by communties for the benefit of the entire community, not just a small sub-set. Our leaders are simply and correctly supporting the needs of the majority to have the community protected from the mi-deeds of people who would choose to break the law and hurt the community as a result of their lawlessness. None of your arguments will ever change the right of the people to protect their own communties from law-breakers.

None of you get that, but our leaders, including the state and federal leaders do understand this at a higher level than most of you think here. That is why you are seeing a rise in the existing law enforcement, the president talking about the critical need to secure the border and SECURE the internal communities as well from the effects of “illegal” immigration. None of your arguments will justify the need to protect the greater community from the mis-deeds of a very small minority of criminals and lawbreakers.

That is why you will lose, no matter how angry you get at people trying to protect themselves and the leaders listening to them enforce the law, and by helping the majority “rule of law” to prevail. When the minority “rule of lawlessness”, prevails we have conflict and anarchy (like in socialist Russia, and the views of Mao and Lenin and certain religious terrorists of the world). You only need to see the rest of the world’s radicals and rebellious groups (the nation destroyers) spewing views as radical as some of your views here to see how destructiive that is to peace and prosperity, and the rights of ALL people in a nation, not just the benefit of a few who demand privilege and special consideration based on their gender, race, religion and ethnic group.

No amount of name calling will make law enforcement by a majority vote, wrong and evil just because many of you have a mis-guided sense of entitlement and injustice.
I blame it on your limited exposure to the “real” world and your belief in “academic” abstraction.

  30. michael

If you don’t simply make this mistake by ignorance and mis-application of abstract academics, then you are really likely to be a member of a group of individuals who want to destroy our legal system and create a political supremacy for your racial, gender, religious or ethnic group militant “ideology” just like every other militant ideology group in the rest of the world who tries to take down governments in support of their “cause”. This is no better than mao, lenin, stalin, saddam hussien, the leader of venezuela, iran and the host of religious and militant radicals intent on harming the rest of the world with grass roots ideological rebellion. I think if you take on the US in this way earnestly, and with intentional malice you will lose. It starts will attacking the local police and law enforcement and the local leadership, then you try to take the state, then the federal government down if you can get your “numbers” large enough. Look at Columbia, Niger, Ethiopia , Somalia, etc for models of how some of you will likely end up if you do not re-think your ideology and concept of justice and law.

  31. Moon-howler

Rod, I have a basic belief that war movies should not sanitized. How did Flags of our fathers grab you?

Juturna and Emma: I have one thing to say to both of you. EEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Clam bellies are beyond nasty. The are worse fried than out of the shell. I dont think you can buy them down here. Spine pie…as you Yankees say…is pork backbone backed in a bie crust in cast iron. It is a rather greasy meal.

And before you too start riding too high in the saddle, my father was born in Connecticut. So there 😉

Juturna, when you retire we are all coming to visit you so you can cook seafood for us. I would like to start with clam chowder please. New England.

  32. Moon-howler

    Bring it on,

No Way!!!! Why would the chairman of our board of supervisors encourage or endorse vigilanteism? Perhaps whoever has the pictures will send them to SPLC. How embarrassing. I wonder if he just drove by and looked or if he stopped and interacted with the vigilantees.

Nope, I have decided this is just a bad rumor. Not here in Prince William County. I know things are bad but….not that bad. Nope Nope Nope.

  39. I vote for Thomas Paine’s philosophy over Tom Kopko’s “obey the GregNCorey show” philosophy. This nation was founded by people who cherish liberty; not blind obedience. History has taught us to be skeptical of those who recommend blind obedience to others.

  40. Bring it On

    michael,
I’ll state with 100% confidence that nobody wants Stewart associated with the HSM, well with the exception of Stirrup. And in terms of stopping illegal immigration, who doesn’t want it stopped? If someone were to ask me, I’d say I want it stopped. You just don’t get it, do you?

  41. Bring it on, why would John Stirrup like the idea of Corey Stewart showing his face at a Help Save Manassas “angry and inane impotence” demonstration at 7 Eleven?

Stewart is his friend and ally: he wouldn’t want him to be ridiculed state wide the way that Gospel Greg has been of late. I accept that you have a credible source, but a big part of me dreads seeing such a video.

At a certain point elected officials disgrace more than just themselves and their party; they disgrace the people and the place they represent. Stewart is fast approaching that point, or, perhaps he has already gone past it.

In many ways, the horrible reputation Prince William County has for racial tension and hateful citizens is due to bad choices and poor leadership on the part of Chairman Stewart. This would be the worst mistake so far. I hope it isn’t true, because we the people of Prince William County do not deserve the reputation that Corey Stewart and Help Save Manassas have earned for us.

  42. @ Moon-Howler I haven’t watched “Flags of Our Fathers'” Yet, I have it on DVD, but the mood has not hit me yet.

Same with “Capote” and “The Last King of Scotland” they are in my posession, but I have not been in the mood for them yet.

Last movie I saw in a theater was “Indiana Jones” and that mostly fo fulfill a childhood desire. All in all when it comes to movies, I’m really picky. IMHO the peak of Great American film making ended in 1981.

My favriot movies are flicks like “Sorcerer”, “Network”, “Dog Day Afternoon”, “The Wiz” ,”MASH” and “Macabe and Ms Miller”

  44. anonfornow

    Hi All,

Bring it On asked me to come forward and explain. I saw Corey Stewart with Maureen, Greg, Patti and Allison on Saturday. He looked like a general checking on his troops. I felt sick about this and mentioned it to a few people including Bring it On.

This is not a rumor. It really did happen. Corey Stewart doesn’t even try to distance himself from Greg and HSM.

I have been reading this blog, but I haven’t been posting much because I wasn’t sure what we should do about our county’s problems. Couldn’t decide if the changes to the Resolution are good enough and if HSM is really worth going after at this point because they seemed to be disintegrating anyway. Even bvbl is no longer a feeding frenzy of hatred and it’s lost its place as our warped and manipulated town hall (thanks to antibvbl!!!).

Since Saturday, I’ve been thinking that the problem in the county is really mostly Corey Stewart. As long as he shamelessly lies to the public, lets Greg whisper in his ear and actively participates in a white supremacist organization, we have a problem in our county. We can’t make any progress with Corey Stewart “representing” us to the media and the public.

  45. hello

Hi anonfornow, a “white supremacist organization”, please tell me which organization your talking about. If you are referring to HSM I’m not sure you can call them a “white supremacist organization”. I’m not a member (never have been and never will be) but calling them something like that is a little overboard, don’t you think?

  46. Are there any minority racial group members of Help Save Manassass? Does anyone know for a fact?

  47. Just Cause

Just located AWCheney’s website and WOW talk about info..

    http://scheney.wordpress.com

This blog hit the floor running and has some interesting video’s.

Did you know that Muslims are finding their way ( paying top dollar) to be smuggled to Mexico and then from there, the fine people of Mexico charge top dollar and escort them into the states..illegally..Using fake passports and then some, 1 pass port was used 6 times. Estimated 500 to 600 muslims were smuggled in a 6 month time frame.

What are you thoughts on these folks?

  48. Hello: The point of anonfornow’s disturbing post is not about semantics. Hstory will judge the roll and the impact of Help Save Manassas in this tragic chapter of Prince William County history. Whatever label pleases you, the fact remains that Corey Stewart has publicly distanced himself from Greg Letiecq and Help Save Manassas during Supervisors’ Time FOR A REASON:

It simply not politically viable position for the Chairman to appear as if he is being manipulated by someone with the profile of a Greg Letiecq.

Like organizations which I’d hope we could AGREE are “white supremacist,” Help Save Mansassas was once a political force, but they have become radioactive in recent months, due in part to the failure of the Immigration Resolution, but mostly due to statements and actions of their most extreme members (Duecaster and Letiecq).

It’s certainly true that many of their members (especially the original bunch many of whom have since quit) are good people. But unfortunately the leadership has behaved in ways that are openly racist and downright scary.

  49. Just Cause

WHWN- Thoughts about Muslims being smuggled illegally????
