This is who was attacked as a “Communist clique” …
This is who did the attacking:
Which version of Faith do you prefer?
These are two fairly different versions of religion which seem to be in sharp contrast to each other. The second video is a convoluted version of Christianity which endorses a ‘Send them Back with Love’ approach which appears quite different than the atmosphere that was evident at the recent VOICE (Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement) event.
Here is one of the many offensive comments on a recent Greg Letiecq attack:
Bolstered by communists from Arlington and Alexandria, the large crowd asked Prince William County Chairman Corey Stewart to provide more “affordable housing”, more ESOL classes, and taxpayer-subsidized dental care.
Do you see Communists in this video?
What’s a freedom fry voter?
I think Gospel Greg SHOULD apologize for calling every church under the sun and all their members communists. I think the religious leaders should demand it. They might not realize it, but just by being on the side of justice, inclusion, unity, and sound government policy, they have provoked the bully of the bathroom wall into attacking them. Half of me says they should ignore them.
Half of me says they should call him out and ask him to corroborate his charge. Who at that gathering was a communists, Gospel Greg? Aren’t McCarhyites supposed to name names?
This is awesome.
Thanks for asking about Freedom Fry Voters, Pinko.
This is a term that developed on this blog when we were recalling the mad stampede to war in Iraq from 2002-2003. At one point, someone from the French government apparently questioned the “intelligence” that said Saddam had WMD’s pointed at American cities and he had participated in the 9/11 attacks.
The ghoulish war hawks in Congress, included John McCain who told us the anthrax attacks came from Iraq, began assaulting the French government, French people, anything French, etc.
They demanded that we officially change the name of “french fries” to “Freedom Fries” as an act of patriotism and solidarity with our President who was fearlessly leading us into the wrong war in the wrong place for no good reason.
Some Americans, most of them Fox News fanatics, decided to do just that.
We call them Freedom Fry Voters because anyone who would do and say something that stupid just because a Republican politician or a Republican News Channel told them too is probably willing to believe just about anything. In other words, easily manipulated and voting Republican no matter what reason they are given, but they prefer a reason that has to do with hate.
If you recall, John Kerry was accused of being French during the 2004 election.
But since then, hatred of the French has died down, probably because 75 percent of the U.S. now realizes the French were right and the Freedom Fry President was wrong.
That is really fascinating Mackie. Every time the facts are revealed, we find out that once again these hateful anti-immigrant types have been lying to us. As we speak there are pundits out there blaming the housing crisis on the fact that ethnic minorities were able to buy homes (meaning that they shouldn’t have been able to do so, since few of them can afford to keep up with mortgage payments).
Looks like the anti-immigrant types are wrong again!
Okay, the DOW dropped another 700 points today to 8,600. This is no longer funny. Wasn’t there a certain ardent McCain supporter who told us this was a flash in the pan, and he was going to buy stocks after the first big drop and make a ton of money? That was when the DOW was at 11,000. Hmmm. Wonder how that went.
—They demanded that we officially change the name of “french fries” to “Freedom Fries”—
Get the hell out of here! Are you KIDDING???? WTF? How did I miss that?
No wonder the French hate us.
BTW, thanks NGL. That was an awesome history lesson!! Bet they don’t teach THAT in school!
Do the French hate us? I think maybe they’re not so cool with American tourists.
Did you ever see that spoof that Steve Martin did of American tourists?
He gets all haughty and exasperated and folds his arms and goes, “You know, I went to visit France the other month and let me tell you something. ‘Chapeau’ means hat, ‘rue’ means street. It’s like THOSE FRENCH have a different word for EVERYTHING!”
I find it so ironic that Americans get so annoyed when immigrants fresh off the boat don’t learn how to speak English in two seconds and they go to other people’s countries and get annoyed that everyone there speaks a different language. How do you think that looks to the people who live in those countries? Rude, that’s how.
I’m sure any one in France who heard about the Freedom Fries just thought we were idiots. Just like they laughed at us for wanting to change Presidents when we found out he had a mistress. The French fell out of their chairs laughing at us for that one.
NGL,
“Okay, the DOW dropped another 700 points today to 8,600. This is no longer funny.”
This is just crazy. Here is an article I found concerning back in August about the FDIC and I just can’t help thinking if the FDIC was considering borrowing money, WHY would one of the ‘sweeteners’ of the bailout package INCLUDE upping the FDIC insurance from 100k to 200 or 250k? The treasury sounds like the communist/socialist with all the NEW UNELECTED power too….this is scary!
of course, I forgot the link 🙂

Red Dawn, I don’t know the first thing about economics. I just know the DOW is what people measure the economy by and has been ever since it went from 4,000 to 10,000 during the Clinton years. The DOW was the reason he got reelected and that was good enough for me. Now that it’s going back to 4,000 again apparently, I’m just trying to figure out how that effects me. So far it honestly hasn’t.
NGL,
I don’t fully understand and honestly, I don’t think they do either as it seems they are changing things around like a dog chasing its own tail and the sad and scary thing is WE have no say in it.As taxpayers, it does effect us. It is our money that is being used for other people to borrow and the money doesn’t just come out of thin air. They will have to raise taxes? I am just stuck at how does one create more money with out working for it to pay off debt and allowing OTHER people to borrow money? It just does not add up.
OF course, I am just looking at it on a small scale as a consumer that has to balance just a couple of accounts.
I THINK when I spend my money and about the lives I can effect by making a bad or selfish choice.
–Just like they laughed at us for wanting to change Presidents when we found out he had a mistress.–
I don’t BLAME them! How embarassing is that, to make such a big deal about Monica? I mean, really. Who the hell cares? Can we focus on some real issues now…how about like corporate criminals??
Mackie,
I remember this lady in some videos you posted…who is she?
There is a new video out. I agree with her ( still watching as I type) at 5:25with the mass arrest and the raids on illegals as PRACTICE…..
interesting, still watching…who is she again?

I think some (more right-wing) Republicans are panicking. It is no longer enough to demonize liberals…the term doesn’t go far enough, and some are desensitized to it. Now they are reaching even further left. It’s like if you don’t agree with them, then you are immediately baptized a “socialist” or a “communist.” There are about a million pundits saying crap like this on Fox News right now, as well as on other stations. It would be a lot funnier, if there weren’t the afore-mentioned Freedom Fry voters out there eating up all the nonsense they can stomach.
The DOW is only 30 companies. That is a mighty piss poor way to gage the economy. The S & P gives a better overall picture simply because more companies are involved.
Having said that, all the indices just suck. It is horrible. Heavy volume today with people buying up what they perceived as bargains. Perhaps they know something the rest of us don’t.
No one knows what the bottom is. P/E ratios should be around 10 though in a bad bear market. It will go back up though. Eventually. People are afraid.
Pardon the interruption, but Rick Bentley, is that you writing that really funny McCain-Palin dialogue on the other site?
Whoever you are, you had me LMAO!!
Diversity Gal, can you copy the Rick Bentley funnies over here so that we don’t have to enter the stinking bathroom to read them?
DiversityGal,
I don’t know if it’s panic or what that makes Gospel Greg (and John McCain’s brother) try to use the word “communist” to harvest hate for political capital. It really seems out of touch with current realities. If you look at what John McCain himself is doing, it’s quite obvious the best way to harvest hate is the word “terrorist.”
“Communists” were scary in the 1950’s and 1960’s. “Terrorists” are scary today. This guy Bill Errors would have been called a “communists” back in the days when he was actually a radical anti-war person. Today, they call him a “terrorist.” Why? Because that’s how you make people afraid. And when people are afraid, they are willing to eat Freedom Fries and hate who you tell them and vote how you tell them.
Here’s the problem. The only people still listening to Greg are already filled to their eyeballs with hate. Considering the economic and national security disasters of the Bush/McCain approach to government over the past 8 years, the only voters who are even considering John McCain are half to three quarters Freedom Fry.
That means that McCain doesn’t need to call Obama a “communist” OR a “terrorist” to get their votes. They’re ALREADY NOT VOTING FOR HIM BECAUSE HE’S BLACK!!!!
Giving dumb-asses multiple reasons to be afraid and hateful doesn’t help you if only only win 38 percent of the vote! This is stupid! This whole thing of using Obama’s middle name and all this terrorism crap is just giving the 38 percent another reason to scream hateful things during stump speeches. They were already hateful! That’s why the came to see Sarah Palin! Stupid!
Meanwhile, the people in the middle who use something other than fear and hate to decide who to vote for, they’re listing to McCain and Palin and McCain’s wife and McCain’s brother and Pat Buchanan all saying the other guy is a terrorist and thinking “how stupid do you think we are?”
The whole country is in shambles, you don’t think we’ll notice if you call the other candidate a terrorist 50 times a day? Stupid.
OK guys…this dialog is long, but you asked for it (SORRY). I don’t agree all of the viewpoints of the author, but I can certainly appreciate his/her distaste for this ticket:

My friends, I am here to answer any questions that you have about my campaign and my positions.
Many of you ask why the bailout. Well it’s simple. I took a principled position that – hey look this way. Look at the shiny ball. Now go chase! Go chase!
I’m thinking of suspending my campaign for a few days next week to get some R&R in. Meanwhile I’ll answer any questions that any of you have, with non sequitors and position changes and clever little one-liners about That One, Senator Obama.
# John McCain said on 9 Oct 2008 at 10:47 am:
Bring it on, you little jerks. I have the temperment and the background to lead.
# John McCain said on 9 Oct 2008 at 11:05 am:
Many people ask why I ran for President, when I’m so old and have no particular agenda.
Well I believe that we are in tough times, and we need experienced, seasoned leadership.
That’s why I picked Governor Palin as my running mate. Her experience is beyond question.
Unlike “Barack Obama”, we are not going to telegraph our dislike of Al Quida or our desire to locate Osama bin Laden. In fact, I am willing to work with the members of Al Quida if they are willing pay a fine, and learn English. This is not am Amnesty my friends. America needs taxi drivers, and these men can provide that service.
I am also starting a Terrorist Home Loan program to ensure that when our friends from the Middle East apply for this Amnesty – oops I mean this program – that these men and women will be able to afford houses to cram into in suburban neighborhoods, and integrate more fully into our society. Regular Americans need not apply.
Freedom is slavery my friends. The only way we’re going to get out of this financial mess is tax cuts for the wealthy. Night is day. Vote McCain/Palin, thank you my friends.

Let’s get jiggy with it!!!!!!!

One question that I’m frequently asked on teh campaign trail is, is Barack Obama worse than the devil?
Well, the Bible which I believe in states quite clearly that Satan was a fallen angel. Was “Barack Obama” ever an angel? Well, I kind of doubt it. If you ask me he has the mark of Cain!
Barack Obama is no angel. He pals around with terrorists. He sits and prays with those who hate America. He eats at restaurants with child molesters. Barack Obama is the kind of guy who once got on an elevator and chatted with a group of performance artists who had urinated on an American flag.
Not the kind of guy I want to see as Commander-In-Cheif!
So I’ll take my chances with the devil, thank you very much!

# John McCain said on 9 Oct 2008 at 11:46 am:
My friends, I have another idea. Many of you have lost money on illegal gambling over the past years. Gambling, though illegal in most of the Continental united States, is big business.
I propose that all gambling debts be forgiven. If you won, keep the money – and that money should not be subject to Capital Gains tax. SENATOR OBAMA, that one, wants to tax your winnings. I don’t.
But if you lost, the government should reimburse you. After all, what’s government for?
We’ll pay for this by drilling more oil and by taxing the wealthy less.
# Sarah Palin said on 9 Oct 2008 at 11:47 am:
That is so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! I mean, really!!!!!!!!!!! Senator McCain, you are just the coolest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t wait to get into Washington with you and just start shaking everything up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How ironic that John McCain and Greg Letiecq are both getting skewered for using “ist” words instead of rational arguments. Those two would probably come to blows if forced to sit in the same waiting room together at a Republican memorabilia show. What do they have in common? And which one is the “real” Republican?
DG,
“And which one is the “real” Republican?”
not so much directed at your comment but I think this is EVERY American’s question of what is going on-TOO MANY GAMES:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upZYRQr47l0
Thanks for posting that Diversity Gal! I guess there IS intelligent life on the other blog.
Greg is so quick to quote chapter and verse I cant imagine that his church would be pleased about his open attacks on all religions. He has shot him self in the foot on this one!
not good, not good at all.
LOL! Thanks, DG, for the morning laugh!
Yes, thanks DG. Are there any updates? Funny how McCain’s strategy is to engender fear and hatred toward Obama, while Obama supporters seem to be using humor to derail McCain.
McCain and his nasty rich-girl wife sure have gotten down and dirty in recent weeks. I had never seen that side of him before. Sarah Palin ends up looking like a decent person compared to rich girl Cindy.
No. Palin is the more disgusting person. Cindy was born rich. Palin has made herself into a hateful and lying politician who abuses power and abuses the public trust.
How about Cindy’s 2 half sisters that she disavows?
Can I say they are both equally disgusting?
Clearly, the second one.
