Letiecq’s thread entitled the ‘Traitors In Our Midst’ is as close as actionable litigation as I have seen posted on any blog site. Honestly, you’d think that someone who thought their Puerto Rican neighbors were ‘illegals’ might be a little more cautious in his future allegations. Personally, I’d love to see some Chipotle attorneys decend upon him with a ‘cease and desist’ order. Or better yet, SUE SUE SUE….
In case you haven’t had the opportunity to read the lunacy first hand, here it is –
I am writing this to inform about the General Manager from Chipotle in Manassas. Her name is Juana and she is from El Salvador. She works in the Liberia location in Manassas. I used to work in Chipotle and at that time Juana told me about her ties to the MS 13 gang. I reported this to Chipotle but no action was taken. She is also illegal. She does not have documents to work in the US. Chipotle knows this. Now she is the General Manager. And she is in charge of hiring other employees. She has pretty much filled her restaurants with illegals. Someone should stop this.
Then Letiecq continues on with his basis allegations from an unnamed source which most likely is either a disgruntled employee or conceivably Letiecq himself who seems anxious to attack anyone or anything associated with Mexicans even if it’s an American company with the word ‘Mexican’ in the title, like Chipotle Mexican Grill.
My only question is how long will it take before Letiecq accuses the company of being part of a zapitista reform movement? This wouldn’t be too much more far fetched than his current attempts to tie a Mexican restaurant to an El Salvadorean gang.
So according to this person, when you patronize Chipotle, a portion of the money you pay them is used to provide financial support to the Mara Salvatruca 13 gang. How lovely. I wonder how many patrons are aware of this, and whether they might change their spending habits if they knew.
He tries to suggest the unnamed person intimates ties between the corporation and an MS13 gang when in fact it is he himself who makes the assertion.
One can only hope a Chiptole attorney gets wind of this lunacy. Any bets on whether or not this thread will be permitted to stay on his blog?
And you are disputing this on what basis?
My guess is that Alanna probably did her homework. She usually does. It beats listening to rumor and innuendo.
But all we get to see is he says/she says. Can’t you go one better than that?
And notice the part of the quote “she fills her restaurants with illegals”…if she is the GM of the Liberia Chipotle, she manages ONE restaurant. GM’s do not hire for other locations.
Sonia Sotomayor, the first latina nominated to the supreme court, and this is what turns y’all on. Uh-huh.
Sotomayor saw to it that firefighters who had studied for and taken a competency exam as part of a promotion process were denied the promised promotion because not enough African-Americans could pass that competency test. Reverse racism–yep, change we can believe in.
I thought that Chipotle was owned at one point by Mc Donalds. Now I do not know who owns the title, nor do I know who retains the trademark, and is the operator of the franchise. But franchise abuses do happen as did in Nevada last year… just google reno, mcdonalds, and mack associates for the full story.
The Steve Chapman lawsuit expires next month, perhaps he [Letiecq] enjoys being constantly under the threat of litigation?
Emma, are you getting your talking points from Rush?
Greg Letiecq is a silly, frightened, ignorant, little, little man who has an internet blog, just like millions of other people. He is also a liar, and a cowardly one at that. He does not have the courage to confront the restaurant owner in person so he writes about them on his blog.
If Mr. Letiecq believes that illegal activities are taking place, then he should file a formal complaint with the local police. He lacks the courage to do so.
If I were this restaurant’s owners, I would sue him for defamation and libel.
I despise Greg Letiecq for a liar and a coward.
I am so happy that Sotomayor was nominated to the Supreme Court. She can help balance the court against George Bush’s appointees.
There is no doubt that Supreme Court justices are a President’s permanent legacy. I am so glad that John McCain lost and Obama won. Abortion rights and affimative action are now in a safer position and will be for many years to come. Let’s hope that Obama gets to appoint more justices.
Rumor versus rumor. We need facts. It’s the old ‘how do you know they’re illegal?’ argument. Just because you don’t know doesn’t make it false. I have seen this same thing happen over the years, and long before this all became a national debate. I noticed that when a new manager took over, and they were a minority, then the entire work crew eventually became members of that minority. I remember commenting that “don’t tell me that kids of other races have never applied for jobs there!”. The problem is that if the crew was all white, then you’d here about it from some group promoting ‘diversity’, but when they are all members of the same minority group then all is ‘well’. Does it not strike you as odd how non-diverse some fast food places seem to be? The entire crew is Latino, no whites or blacks? Some auto parts stores are the same way. I know of several along Dale boulevard in Dale City. One right next to a Latino food mart. Get the idea?
I see, we’re getting picky with the “s” at the end of restaurant. I don’t know how much value there is in getting nitpicky with grammar and spelling. Notice how you use an apostrophe behind GM (General Manager) when the concept is not a possessive and it is not a contraction. Is that the game you want to play?
While I agree with what Greg is having a problem with, here…..I might have approached it differently. HSM could let area restaurants know about e-verify, how certain establishments signify with a little sign that they use e-verify, and that these eating establishments will lose a certain portion of business until HSM is satisfied that they use e-verify. No names, no specifics, but addressing the problem in a more general way.
I think that’s the idea. The issue here is the illegal workers. Like Obama, Greg thinks the businesses should be penalized if they continue to hire them.
As to the “couched assertion” about the particular manager, I await facts. If she is actively in MS-13 and is making hiring decisions, that’s pretty serious to me.
If you’re going to accuse somebody of violating the law, you’d better have all your i’s dotted and your t’s crossed.
If Mr. Letiecq has proof that this individual is engaging in illegal activities, then he should have the courage to provide it to the appropriate law enforcement authorities; otherwise, he should STFU!
Three most reason headings on BVBL:
-Corrupt County Employee Given Award By County Executive
-Traitors In Our Midst
-Chief Deane Helps Raise Funds For Anarchist Radicals
Greg L.is a blog bomb thrower, has always been and always will be.
FOX on steroids. You have to take him with more than one grain of
salt. For him, it is “Corrupt, Anarchist Radicals In My Mist”.
Bentley,
Who’s giving the facts here? Greg? As Poor Richard states, he drops a bomb and heads for the hills. It’s wrong.
I see even James Young has issued a warning to Letiecq over his accusations against the County Executive. Maybe he’s trying to be like Rush Limbaugh with these outrageous statements?
Obviously, he can say anything he likes but his credibility should be questioned at every turn.
The County Executive and Chief Deane are public figures. The manager of a local restaurant is not, so the bar for proving libel and malicious intent is much lower.
Here’s the only thing I can say after speaking with Juana who will NOT discuss this because of the legal implications.
I told her she has a lot of support and that GL does this to many people. She said someone in the company is taking care of it and said I could quote her: “He picked the wrong person this time.”
She said, “I’m not worried because I know who I am.”
BIG APPLAUSE FOR THIS HARD WORKING LADY WHO IS THE LATEST VICTIM OF GL’s/HSM’s PERSECUTION TACTICS.
Well, according HSM member Rick Bentley, HSM encourages self deportation which he says means “persecute, prosecute, punish.”
Knowing that now about HSM, this no longer shocks me.
When it comes to Judge Sonia Sotomayor I don’t think that her confirmation should pass because I would hope that a wise white man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Hispanic female who hasn’t lived that life.
I despise Greg Letiecq for a liar and a coward.
Hello, I understand what you are saying. However, there are plenty of white men (a term I loathe) who already represent a particular kind of wisdom in the court. Different experiences yield different perspectives, which is valuable is any arena.
Agreed Anesthesia, however, if Obama nominate a ‘white man’ that said:
“I would hope that a wise white man with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Hispanic female who hasn’t lived that life.”
Would that be considered a racist and/or sexist statement? How do you think his confirmation would go? Would he even be nominated? This is yet another poor nomination by Obama, she even has a poor track record. Over 60% of her judgments have been overturned.
Poor Richard is correct. Bomb thrower. Who is going to be the next victim? I will make it a point to take some business to Chipotle. Fortunately, this manager has to do very little to prove she is in the right and she has a huge corporation to stand behind her. Corporate brings out the big guns when it needs to.
Their stock is trading today for $82.50 a share. That’s up a few bucks from yesterday. The company also weathered the recession fairly well. Maybe Greg is becoming a suicide bomber.
Cindy B is very correct when she says
Emma, you know, it isn’t really incumbent on us to dispute anything. The point is, you can’t go around and slander people or make libelous statements about them without there possibly being consequences.
That’s what I have a problem with. There is just too much coming from your blog of choice that is unsubstantiated that has to potential to damage too many people. And why? That’s what I am not even sure about. Political gain? Or the Mt. Everest syndrome?
I’ll withhoild further comment pending fact discovery.
There was an assertion made, albeit anonymously, that the woman in question is here illegally. If so, she should not be working there at all much less as a manager or hiring others. If the assertion is true this story is very worthwhile. Posting As Pinko, any information on that?
As to Sotomayor, I like nothing about her. She made a bigoted statement, point blank. She showed real bias and apparently it is evident in some of her cases as well. And, I don’t want activists. To top it off she’s clearly getting the nomination as an “Affirmative Action” maneuver – she is not held in any especially high esteem intellectually. It is all too evident that Obama did this for politics, the keep Latino support and the box the Republicans in and cause in-fighting, not because Sotomayor is particularly able or deserving.
It make me queasy but then again the whole Sureme Court is a joke as I’ve gone on about before, it’s a morally bankrupt institution and most of them are political tools.
It’s increasingly obvious that Obama is a pragmatic guy, not an idealist interested in “The Audacity of Hope”, who spends a lot of time thinking about how to keep his corrupt party one step ahead of the other corrupt party. I’m a bit disappointed. He speaks in public about “let’s not play politics now”, blah blah blah but he plays it all day long.
i.e. “More of the same” vs. “change”.
This is an interesting article about just how much ‘more of the same’ Obama is delivering when it comes to all of the Bush policies he campaigned against, then adopted once he became president: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/21/AR2009052103680.html
I agree with you Rick, this nomination was nothing more than Obama playing politics with one of the most important decisions a president can make by pandering to the Latino vote by nominating a Hispanic woman. He essentially killed two birds with one stone here. The only problem is that she is a horrible pick which makes it all the more obvious he doesn’t practice what he preaches when talking about ‘hope and change’.
@Thumper
Where did you come up with the 3 P’s for HSM? Do they list that somewhere?
She is pretty clearly biased against white males. In word and in action. If a white male made the converse of her statement he’d get pilloried.
And it’s working for her. She’s going to ride ethnic identity and gender politics all the way to the Supreme Court – where she can genuflect back to it and keep us all in conflict with each other for a generation to come.
So, I’ve made my mind up. She’s not worthy of my respect. I do and will hold her in contempt.
(As I do Scalia and Thomas also).
Sonya Sotomayor can kiss my ass. She can take the “diversity” and “wisdom” that being her has entailed, mix it together with the entitlement that being a Latino woman has entailed in her case – in the protected bubble she lives in – and just kiss my ass. This is the kind of corrupt sickening bs that I try not to even think about.
Our government is corrupt, and it is all too frequently working against our best interests.
What Greg has done is simply awful and just plain mean spritied. This woman does not deserve to in his “line of sight” for mistreatment. He should be ashamed of himself.
The real question here is whether our highest court would be better served if there is a diversity that reflects the diversity of America. I think it would. The choice of “white” and “male” to describe the status quo on the court is something Judge Sotomayor will have to explain. But if I were to be specific about who it is that has traditionally dominated the Supreme Court, what else could I say? I can only think of three justices that were not both white and male in the history of our nation.
The Judge’s point was that our country will be better served by a court that reflects our diversity. I agree. White males will not be losing anything if only 6 of the 9 justices are white males. Even if that number shrinks to 4, I just don’t see the cause for alarm.
It looks like we need to do a topic on the nomination!
Goodness, Greg Letiecq is becoming a cartoon. I can just imagine him playing with his dolls in his basement trying to pit certain dolls against other dolls and making-up multiple voices to create a chorus of hatred where none existed. How many of the voices on his blog are just his own voice echoing from the doll in his left hand to the doll in his right hand? How much longer will we pay any mind to his childish imagination?
I think your kind of missing the point Witness, the ‘real question’ here is if a judge will be confirmed who:
1.) Says racist/sexist comments.
2.) Makes a ruling upholding race-based employment in a reverse discrimination case.
3.) Has over 60% of her rulings overturned.
4.) Thinks that individual gun ownership has been illegal since the passing of the Bill of Rights and that the 2nd amendment doesn’t apply to individual citizens.
5.) Determined that suspects captured on the battlefield must receive all rights afforded to American citizens under the Constitution (has already been overturned).
The list could go on and on… she is simply, and sadly, yet another horrible choice by Obama who has apparently put politics ahead of what is best for this country.
“Identity” balance in politics, appointing judges, hiring, etc.
can twist us in a knot. There are more Protestants in the USA
than any other religous grouping – yet the Supreme Court may
soon have six Catholics, two Jews and one Protestant.
Should we, children of Luther and Calvin, protest?
Or, wouldn’t it be best to simply select the best person for the job?
Period.
Poor Richard again gives us wisdom.
The new thread header is up, albeit brief. Now, back to a Fortune 500 company suing the pants off of a local blogger….what were we saying?
Does Chipolte have a case here? While I don’t agree with the way the other site approached this purely based on hearsay I hate that the mentality in America has deteriorated into a Ill ‘sue’ you mentality.
It may just be me but the excitement and cheerleading of “Or better yet, SUE SUE SUE” or “suing the pants off of a local blogger” is just as disheartening and depressing as what Greg has done.
We live in a country where everyone sues everyone for just about anything. For crying out loud a guy is suing the Guinness Book of World Records from naming him as the person who has filed the most lawsuits in the history of mankind. What have we become?
Ifb the woman is an illegal alien, I support “outing” her and would also support a web site that does nothing but “out” illegal aliens based on tips.
Here you go Moon and Alanna, this should put a smile on your face when talking about SUE SUE SUE or suing the pants off of someone: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2009/may/23/man-sues-book-over-most-litigious-crown/
I do agree with you to a point Rick, if she is here illegally and has been hiring other illegal immigrants I think that this would open up a potentially bigger story and could be very important.
However, I think that Greg should not have run with this based on what just one person has said without any other evidence. As someone said before this person could have just been a disgruntled employee looking to get back at his old job or boss.
