13 Thoughts to “Hannity, “you must distant yourself from the Extremism”….. but only if it’s directed at Republicans!”

  1. Poor Richard

Interesting article in today’s NYT comparing talk show host like
    Hannity with “Gangsta Rappers”.

Both rappers and conservative talkers both speak to a demographic
that believes its interest and problems have been ignored and
they, in fact, are under attack. Both have huge egos, a lot
of bravado, a quickness to give and take offense and verbal skills.

“And at the end of the day – they are entertainers.”

And everyone had a wonderful time. I think perhaps they didn’t do protesting in the 60’s and 70’s and are making up for lost time.

They are angry their guy lost. I probably should have said their woman. All I heard was the trashing of Senator McCain.

The People really don’t understand what Great Depression means.

    Excellent Poor Richard, and thanks.

Heading there now. I don’t know how I overlooked it.

  4. ShellyB

Thanks M-H. That was really great. It’s a wonder how John Stewart can be so much more intelligent and incisive with humor than “impotent rage” extremists can be with, well, impotent rage.

But oh yeah! There’s the right wing extremist media conglomerate and their HYPOCRISY with a capital H. Make that all caps.

All you can do is laugh.

    Moon-howler :
The People really don’t understand what Great Depression means.

Funny, Obama likes to throw the term around like he has any idea what it means.

  6. Slowpoke Rodriguez

    John Stewart’s “brilliant”. Wow.

  7. Emma

Haven’t you heard, Slow? The bar is officially being lowered for “brilliant” to make it more inclusive.

  8. Moon-howler

Back to Obama…why do you think he doesn’t understand? Did Bush understand? I think everyone is missing the danger we were in.

  9. Slowpoke Rodriguez

There’s the ultimate sign of success! “It could have been worse!”

  10. El Guapo

Jon Stewart is so funny. He has a team of 50+ people that spend all day reviewing old footage of these shows, and if it’s there, they’ll find it. Did you see the interview with Jim Cramer? How’d they find that clip? I remember one time Rumsfeld was explaining how we didn’t know exactly where the WMDs were. Flashback to 2002 Rumsfeld is saying that we know exactly where the WMDs are. Gold, Jerry. Gold.

This is a good clip. It illustrates something that even Jon Stewart missed. WE’RE ALL SAPS! Side A was silent while their guy was overspending and giving handouts to special interests meanwhile Side B screamed bloody murder. Switch sides. Now Side B sits silently while their guy overspends as Side A screams bloody murder.

On the Rick Sanchez topic, someone said they don’t care what Rick Sanchez thinks. Sanchez was presenting facts; it wasn’t his opinion. But we don’t care about facts that cast a shadow on someone on our side.

The fact is that both sides are spending us down the tubes. During the campaign, the seemingly unbearable fiscal burdens of baby boomer SS and Medicare was not even mentioned. The last person to try to come up with a plan was Dubya, and he was told to shut up even by people on his own side. It’s political suicide to try to propose a real belt-tightening solution to the problems we face.

Those who have picked a side and pretend that their side is any better are falling right into their hands. That’s exactly what they want. Fox News referred to Rick Sanchez as a gift that keeps on giving. They know that their saps won’t pay any attention. Glenn Beck makes outrageous claims and gets headlines in Time Magazine and gets and interview with Legs Couric. As long as they’ve got you playing the “us vs. them” game, then they can blame the other side and not have to come up with real solutions to our problems.

El Guapo, once again, you make a great deal of sense. Do you have the link to Jim Cramer?

At this point, there is nothing else to do but to make fun of the Becks and Limbaughs of the world. They have no solutions other than division.

And yes, the boomers were sold out….most definitely. Prediction: The illegal immigrants will suddenly become desirable to support all the baby boomers who are begging on the street corners because social security and medicare is broke.

This is what I was talking about. In this clip from the Daily Show, Jon Stewart brings up footage of Cramer admitting to manipulating the market for his own benefit.
