These young adults, oftentimes, do not even know that they are not legal Americans. Their work ethic would make any person proud, and yet, they are trapped in limbo. Are these hard working young people, bright, dedicated, dreaming to excel, to be denied the ability to be fully productive citizens, just because their parents were unable to adjust their status due to immigration incompetence?

About this 3.8 GPA student… it’s sad, very sad. I feel bad for this girl and kids like her. However, is it ALL due to ‘immigration incompetence’? Should no blame be put on these parents or is it just easier to blame the system. Sounds like her mother tried but failed due to some mistake by a lawer… then what. Just gave up? I feel bad for these kids, it’s horrible, but at what point do thier parents take any of the blame?

Very good questions Hello, and valid. But this mom clearly is hard working, raising her children to be happy productive people. The parents are blamed for wanting their children to have a chance at a decent life?
What good does it do to blame the parents? They want their kids to have a better life. Isn’t that what most want?

I haven’t seen Jessica Simpson in a while..I know she was gaining a little weight, but you’re right, she still looked pretty good to me! Kim Kardashian is another one. She looks good, no matter what anyone says about her weight. I got one for you…Nigella Lawson. That women is a goddess!

This discussion reminds me of the Dr. Seuss tale, “Green Eggs and Ham” in which Sam badgers an unnamed character to try green eggs and ham. Sam concocts various scenarios in which green eggs and ham might be appetizing to the character.
Following Sam’s example, supporters of amnesty (or amnesty lite) pose the same question over and over again in different scenarios, hoping for a different answer. They suggest that we should overlook the illegal status of aliens who are good students or who are hard workers or who are seeking a better life or who need medical care or who would be separated from their families or who are married to American citizens or who are not aware of their illegal status or who are …. whatever.
Unlike the unnamed character in “Green Eggs and Ham”, America has already sampled amnesty and gotten burned. Most of us are unwilling to try that “dish” again, no matter what the sob story.
It’s not that they can’t go to college … they just can’t get in-state tuition until they declare independence from their parents. Seems fair to me.

If Obama and Congress get their way, they’ll pay a $17 or so fine and then be declared citizens.
I did not go to Harvard either. I am sure that I would have been accepted, but I knew that I did not have the financial aid, loans or money to go. They should be happy that they are graduating from UCLA.

You know, this isn’t Nancy’s fault or her mother’s. Who says we don’t need immigration reform? This is totally stupidly screwed up. Mrs. Moreno is a hag. The govt should just pick this up and fix it. It is obviously an error.
As for the little girl who went to Texas to live, what a decent man to help out all these kids who are caught.
This kind of crazy stuff makes me just want to throw up my hands and scream. Fixing mistakes shouldnt’t be so difficult.
