So was this a good idea to take McNabb from the Eagles? Is McNabb over the hill? Is 34 too old for a quarterback? Opinions, please.

yea.
sonny worked out after his trade…
elway as just ok till shannahan got a hold of him (then 2 Superbowls)
dmcNabb should 3-6 good years left. how old is Favre 40???
that old guy for Arizona did ok, and he couldn’t scramble…
now we can focus on interior linemen in the draft and future FA
jason needs (and deserves) a fresh start
the new management might be ok.

– Well, another “washed-up too old” QB came south from the Eagles to
the Redskins a while back – named Sonny Jurgenson and the did OK.
– While on sports, note that President Obama threw out the first pitch today-
sure the Foxies will describe even that in snarky terms.
– And Go Butler! Bit’em Bulldogs! Know every UNC fan is a Dog tonight.
(And no doubt a few Terps are also).
I think that the Terps definitely are, PR. No cheering for the Duke Flukes from the Howler house from one old turtle.
On a good note, the Bulldogs don’t have a long run to get to the arena.
I do expect to hear an Obama snark out of the foxies. You are right.
The President threw it wide and high, but certainly didn’t do the no-no of
bouncing it across the plate. Perhaps next year Glen Beck should
be in the batter’s box and then Obama could show us his “high heat” –
inside, chin level and 100mph.
Some fans are skeptical because time and again during Dan Snyder’s reign we shake things up each year, plus we have a history in Snyder’s reign of paying for guys who were great players yesterday – Deion Sanders, Bruce Smith, Marc Brunel come to mind.
On the other hand, we really didn’t have to give much up for McNabb, who’s a great talent and a real winner.
So, we’ll see. I’m learning to adopt a wait-and-see attitude towards Redskins personnel changes.
I am sad not to see Jason Campbell get a real shot under Shanahan – Campbell is a real fighter and I like him.
The positive spin is that John Elway was 35? or so when Shanahan took over in Denver, thought to be washed up, and they went to the Super Bowl 2 out of the next 4 years. As with those teams, expect the Redskins to run the ball a lot next year – they’ve added Larry Johnson and Willie Parker to the roster with Portis.
a tentative “yea” from me.
At least we won’t have to go through another 2 or 3 year “breaking in” experiment. You know what you get with McNab. It’s up to the rest of the team to jell around him.
Arrgh ! Should have the “Big O” in to pitch opening day – the Phillies
are killing us.
Off topic, but speaking of winners – the DOW closed at 10,974, over 25%
higher than when “W” left office. President Obama and the Democratic
Congress rescued our 401K’s.
One injury, pre-season or early season; and the debate is over. The Skins had better find an offensive line and quick. I don’t know if McNabb at his age can take the physical beating Campbell took and survived last year. McNabb may have earned an early reputation as a scrambler, but the legs and knees catch up to the thirty-somethings. His God-send may be that he is better at finding the receivers quicker and getting the ball off faster. Still, Campbell took a lot of hits at the moment of getting rid of the ball. BTW, I understand that Sonny came to the Skins after only about seven years in Philly, about half the time that McNabb had been running the Philly offense.
Geaux Saints!
