Why won’t Gerry Connolly say if he attended the terrorist linked Dar-Al-Hijrah fundraiser or not in Falls Church.

“Allow the Strip Shows!
One week ago the Prince William Board of Supervisors denied a request to
continue male strip shows at the Silver Fox restaurant in Woodbridge …
Supervisors John Jenkins and Tony Guiffre cited police complaints in the
‘vicinity’ … We feel these problems were not the result of a group of women
watching male dancers – and the management does restrict the audience
solely to women. The vote seems especially unfair since there are numerous
other restaurants featuring topless women nearby.”

Our area has a rich and varied “history”.
Here’s a program we need to cut to help reduce the deficit
Planned Parenthood just released their new “Happy, Healthy and Hot” guide, billed as “a young person’s guide to their rights, sexuality, and living with HIV.” In it, they reaffirm their opposition to laws that require HIV-positive individuals to disclose their condition to sexual partners. “You have the right to decide if, when, and how to disclose your HIV status….” “Young people living with HIV may feel that sex is just not an option, but don’t worry many young people living with HIV live healthy, fun, happy and sexually fulfi lling lives. You can too, if you want to!… ” There are ways to have a family that can reduce the risk of HIV transmission. Your local prevention of mother-to child transmission clinic, support group for people living with HIV or other people you know who are HIV-positive, can provide more information on getting pregnant.”
Planned Parenthood receives about $350 million in federal funding annually. Private funding is one thing, public funding for this kind of activity is un-supportable.
A good post on the Tea Party: http://www.lookingattheleft.com/2010/04/the-teaparty-movement-the-democrat-party-racism-and-incitement/
Remember, there will be a Tea Party rally near you (probably) on Tax Day.
Anyone going to the 2nd Amendment rally at the Washington Monument on the 19th? I plan to be there. I’ll be the good looking blogger….
Kind of like MSNBC and Huffingtion post huh…
wearing the Kalashnikitty T-shirt and wearing a tan backpack. I know, I know…Its what every professional blogger should wear…..
Move examples of the racist left against black conservatives that MSM continues to ignore. Just listen to these voice mails: http://biggovernment.com/mcrowley/2010/04/10/voicemails-expose-lefts-racism/

Flex Your Rights . ORG is a brainchild of two CATO interns to teach the younger members of our society about their consitutional rights when being approached by a member of law enforcement.
The video (freely available on youtube) uses convential and modern language to appeal to our youth and get them to understand how things may play out in a situation and how to effectively exert your rights (regardless of guilt) as provided by our Constitution.
I encourage every person, young or old, to watch these videos and gain a new and meaningful understanding of your rights when being questions, detained or arrested.
Professor James Duane also has a great video about how cooperating with the police has no upside and can only harm you. It’s a great video (done in front of a law class) and another recommended watch. You can find it on youtube.
I know the WashPo is also an electronic fish wrap (see comment #2) with it’s wildly biased stories but the article is fairly decent and the video of course is GOOD.
…again, I don’t think I’ll be getting an endorsement from the Police Officers local union anytime soon. 😉
I had to look up Kalashnikitty T-shirts. You will definitely be the best looking one there, for sure, Cargo.
Not sure “Happy, Healthy and Hot” is published by PP. I think they might have distribution rights. I am going to defend PP on this one. There are kids out there who might need information that is not typical. It isn’t your ‘every day’ brochure.
PP’s position is to educate people…not just the people we might have something in common with. Brochures are brochures. When I browse a brochure counter, I see all sorts of things I am not interested in.
The only reason I can think of to attack planned parenthood from a funding point of views is if you are opposed to contraception. In this day and age, if you are opposed to contraception, I simply don’t want to hear about it.
Marin, that is a very important article. Thanks for posting it.
Women should also read it. They are a very targeted group at night. Women are often pulled over after 10 PM and are an easy mark for cops. It is assumed they are drinking.
I know many females this has happened to. It recently happened to someone on this blog and it happened to me about 12 years ago.
@Moon-howler
Perhaps you missed the part about PP advocating that a person with HIV has the right to decide if, when, and how to disclose your HIV status….” that may not be murder anymore, but its close.
PWC, are you sure that’s not covered under capital murder or manslaughter laws? Hell, I remember reading an article about how a police officer was spat on and they arrested the spitter under a felony charge of (something like) assault with chemical or biological weapon.
M-H, the female issue is a major reason I think that all police cars should be marked vehicles. Get rid of this unmarked cruiser non-sense. Too many rapes and assaults occur because people pull over for an unmarked vehicle with a blue light. It’s non-sense.

It might not stop a guy from infecting a girl or vice versa but at least the law gives you the ability to go after them under the criminal code.
You have to be a warped person to do something like this to another person. On the upside, the ACLU will probably want to restore thier voting rights! 🙂
I will tell you one thing that is a waste of money – money for Abstinence Only programs – http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/26/AR2010032602457.html
Teaching Abstinence with other programs, I feel is worthwhile.
agreed, Pat. Thanks for posting the law, Marin. I agree about marked police cars.
TP, I don’t believe that is what PP said, so I didn’t comment. Do you seriously expect me to believe you can honestly assess that organization? It isn’t even their publication.
I don’t buy into hysterical propaganda.
Pat, also if you had ever listened to one taught, you would feel even more strongly. What a waste. They are sophomoric and foolish. Kids roll their eyes and giggle through the program because the one saw was so preposterous,.
Herndon Council Elections have come about again. Phillip Jones of Help Save Herndon is a canidate for Council. You guys remember the Great Dane he and Aubrey Stokes brought to the Herndon polling station at the last election?
Well, it’s Phil’s mascot on his campaign sign this year, a big black silhouette of the great dane. Good old Phil, guard dog of Herndon! Keeping those “Strangers” off the property.
Consequently I think his presence on the Council will keep people from wanting to live in Herndon where your neighbors will be politically polarized, your quality of town service will drop and the value of your cheaply constructed, over-priced, debt trap mcmansion will be your only cause to live for.
Potomac News and a few other outlets are reporting that a kid took an unloaded pistol to Potomac Middle School and pointed it at his own head. A teacher disarmed him and took him inside and called police.
Rod, those 2 ladies will keep the Herndon Council in its place. I will be on the look out for old Aubrey. Once a bully always a bully. If you have a picture, send it on over. The addresses are on the tab up top.
Marin, I read that. I didn’t realize the kid had it pointed at his head. Geez. How frightening.
Beware the unintended consequences of cap and trade legislation in an already depressed housing market. If Waxman-Markey becomes law, home sellers will have to pay for an “environmental audit” of their home, and will have to fix deficiencies before the home can be sold.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0909/27448.html
It pays to read the fine print. And to demand that our legislators read the bill before voting on it.
Washers and dryers have gotten expensive.
Emma, thank you SO much for that article. Eye opener. Wow.
What’s even crazier about it (aside for it being a big bailout for corporate america – Home Depot and Lowes will make out like bandits, small business contractors, appliance companies, real estate agents [more expensive houses means more commissions] and banks and mortgage companies) Why mortgage companies you ask? Well, if you have to finance your home purchase via a mortgage and the mortgage has to cover the price of the house including all these new environmental features your mortgage goes up and with the interest being applied over the term of a loan [30 years for example] that $1000 W/D pair will cost $1000 + 30Y worth of interest. O U C H !!
Thank you Congress. You just gave Bank of America another gimmy.
That is a good stock to own, Marin. It has done quite well.
Any time you buy a house you are purchasing the washer and dryer over 30 years if it comes with a pair.
I usually do not have time to post during the week. But today is an exception, because I just submitted my tax return. A primal scream seems justified when I think of my hard-earned dollars going to all those wasteful government programs …..
What do you get back, Kelly? Anything? I mean in the way of services. Some people want security, other people want good hiways and National Parks. If you just break it down that way…it is easier to take.
And that is not to mean that I think some people aren’t slipping by. But I can’t do anything about it so I will attempt to make it less annoying.
We had to pony up $10K more than we already had paid. I won’t complain though, if we weren’t making any money we wouldn’t have to pay anything. I read an article the other day that said that more than 50% of the public doesn’t pay ANY federal income tax. That is astonishing. The money might not be going towards where I would ideally like it to go, but in answer to Sarah Palin’s question, ‘how’s the hopey changey going for ya?”, I say, it’s going great! Thanks!
OMG…I just read about Huckabee’s views on same sex marriage. He likens it to incest or polygamy. Nice. Oh, and for those gay couples that wish to raise children? “They are not puppies”. What. The . F?
Huckabee is the worst of both worlds. He’s a huge believer in government programs to “help” people and he’s a social conservative that spouts crud like that. One can disapprove of same sex marriage without describing it like that.
However, once same sex marriage is allowed, what is to prevent polygamous or polyandrous marriage? Or adult incestuous marriage? Once the arbitrary barrier, backed up by thousands of years of tradition, history, and law is removed, where then do you move it to?
@Moon-howler I wish it were just about buying a washer/dryer. If that were the case, I would go to Sears and buy the cheapest EnergyStar appliances I could find and be done with it. But consider that you will pay for the audit, and you may also be required to replace all your windows, and maybe your insulation. All those improvements could price your house right out of the already sluggish market. So there you are, unable to move to better job opportunities, closer to family, closer to help care for a sick/elderly relative, unable to sell your deceased parents’ home, whatever, because you can’t afford the government-mandated upgrades to your home.
And where does the government get the power to tell you what grade of appliance you may have in your home? I can’t buy a house with leaky windows if I want to? As a buyer, I can’t make the ultimate decision on window improvements?
Also, its been determined that the agency that determines the Energystar rating actually does nothing.
A gas-powered alarm clock and an air purifier made up of a duster stuck into the top of an electric space heater and products from four fictitious companies qualified.
Per the NYT: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/26/science/earth/26star.html?src=twt&twt=nytimesscience
Buyer beware.
Ok, it does something but “is vulnerable to fraud.”
Emma, from the interstate commerce clause of course!
Wait till women lose control of their wombs because the government figures out it has a financial interest in any offspring a woman can give birth to. I can picture some govt worker be looking at male profiles to figure out which one has the best genes for producing tax revenue.
With HCR and the individual mandate I just don’t see that as far fetched anymore.
@cargosquid So EnergyStar has become the new Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval? Utterly meaningless?
I’m SHOCKED! SHOCKED, I tell you!!!
@marinm
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Don’t give them ideas!
Of course, 1984, THX1138, Metropolis, etc, are all fantasies. Of course they are….
Science fiction is a double edge sword……the ideas shown in it can be used by good AND evil men. Warnings can be used as blueprints…….
@Emma
Heck, Emma,
California wants to be able to control your thermostat. And Obama likes that idea.
Soon, the economy, medicine, your very home, could be controlled from a central source…..
Efficient way to run things. Saves money.
@cargosquid “Soylent green is PEOPLE!!!”
@cargosquid
I think they’ve already figured out the end-game and we’re still playing catchup. Hell, even Bush got rid of Posse Comitatus (Act) for 2 years – allowing the US military to perform law enforcement activities on US soil. Now, that’s scary. Fortunatly, almost every active or retired military person I spoke with said they’d disobey an order to hold the civilian populace or to disarm them. Bonus points for the guys that said they’d bear arms against any govt that gave that order. 🙂
You also forgot Animal Farm from the list. We could also add Anthem, Logan’s Run, Atlas Shrugged. Hrm. Actually, I probably shouldn’t add to the list because I may get myself added to a ‘list’. 😉
Yes, soylent green is people. And they’re yummy!!!
MMMMMmmmmm, peeeeeepuuuuulllllll………
Btw, Congress may have stripped themselves of their cushy federal health care program when they passed the HCR. BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Wrong video of health protest spurs N-word feud
By JESSE WASHINGTON, AP National Writer Jesse Washington, Ap National Writer – Tue Apr 13, 6:23 am ET
Three Democratic congressmen — all black — say they heard racial slurs as they walked through thousands of angry protesters outside the U.S. Capitol. A white lawmaker says he heard the epithets too. Conservative activists say the lawmakers are lying.
What does the video show? Not much. Indeed, new interviews show that a much-viewed YouTube recording cited as evidence by conservatives was actually shot well after the time in question.
It was March 20, near the end of the bitter health care debate, when Reps. John Lewis, Andre Carson and Emanuel Cleaver say that some demonstrators, many of them tea party activists, yelled the “N-word” as the congressmen walked from House office buildings to the Capitol.
Stung by the charges of racism, conservatives and tea party activists insist it never happened. And one of them is offering big money if anyone can prove it did.
With so many media and citizen cameras at the demonstration, any epithets would have been caught on tape, says Andrew Breitbart. He’s the web entrepreneur who released the video of ACORN workers counseling actors posing as a pimp and prostitute, and has pledged $100,000 to the United Negro College Fund if anyone provides proof of the epithets.
“It didn’t happen,” said Breitbart, who wasn’t there. “This is 2010. Even a racist is media-savvy enough not to yell the N-word.”
The dispute pits the lawmakers — one of them, Lewis, is a leader and survivor of 1960s civil rights battles — against conservatives determined to counter claims of racism within the predominantly white and middle-aged tea party movement. The criticism has proven a distraction to a nascent movement pushing a unified message of fiscal conservatism and limited government.
The issue still echoes in the media and blogosphere.
“Listen, I was there,” Carson, D-Ind., said in an interview. “In many regards I think (the challenges are) a veiled attempt to justify actions that are simply unjustifiable. I think we need to move toward a dialogue that explores why this kind of divisive and reprehensible language is still making it into our political debate.”
A fourth Democrat, Rep. Heath Shuler of North Carolina, who is white, backed up his colleagues, telling the Henderson (N.C.) Times-News that he heard the slurs.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_n_word_feud
It happened. Even Health Shuler said so.
He’s either lying or confused. What are you going to believe? Multiple videos showing the Black Caucus walking through the crowd or his so-called word?
Gateway Pundit has the story too with links to multiple videos showing the “walk.” Funny how they now say that they took that route because it was just the first day of spring. I guess Rep. Jackson just wanted to tape the pretty birds singing in the trees.
http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2010/04/horrible-media-now-putting-phantom-white-men-into-black-caucus-abuse-story/
Since THEY could not record any racism, they are smearing the protesters and trying to confuse the issue. If Shuler was there, why has it taken so long for him to speak up?
From a comment at Gateway:
“Heath Shuler is lying. My wife and I were in the Cannon building on 3/20 visiting different members. When my wife and I were exciting the building at 3:15 we walked past Heath Shuler entering the building through the Independence Ave. and 1rst St. entrance. He was alone and on his cell phone but as a lifelong Redskin fan I had no problem spotting him. He was wearing his Congressional lapel pin and didn’t have to walk through the metal detector. He walked past us and we walked out the door. Immediately after walking out of the Cannon building we heard a bunch of booing and so we walked down the block to the front of the Cannon building just as the Congressional Black Caucus was entering the building. We heard nor saw any evidence of any racism from the crowd. Today is the first day that I have read Shuler’s statement but knowing the truth it makes me sick to see a Congressman lie.”
So, I wonder what’s in it for him?
Took me a while M-H but I found some of the information you were looking for since you are so happy paying your taxes – well federal taxes anyway. Seems that Washington will spend $31,406 per household in 2010 — the highest level in American history (adjusted for inflation). It will collect $18,276 per household in taxes.
Washington will spend this $31,406 per household as follows:
Social Security/Medicare: $9,949. The 15.3 percent payroll tax, split evenly between the employer and employee, covers most of these costs. Defense: $6,071. Anti-poverty programs: $5,466 (it has already grown 32 percent since President Barack Obama took office. Unemployment benefits: $1,640 – surging by 411 percent this year. Interest on the federal debt: $1,585. It owes $9 trillion to public bond owners, and the rest to other federal agencies (mostly to repay the Social Security trust fund, which lawmakers raided annually before the program went into deficit in 2010). Veterans’ benefits: $1,052. The federal government provides income and health benefits to war veterans. Spending is up 83 percent since 2000.
Federal employee retirement benefits: $1,018. This spending funds the retirement and disability benefits of federal employees, including the military.
Education: $914. Education spending is primarily a state and local function; 9 percent of the total comes from Washington. The federal education budget has leaped 125 percent since 2000. Most federal dollars are spent on low-income school districts, special education and college student financial aid.
Highways/mass transit: $613. Most highway and mass-transit spending is financed by the 18.4 cent per-gallon federal gas tax. Washington subtracts an administrative cost and sends this money back to the states with numerous strings attached.
Health research/regulation: $550. This spending is up 50 percent since 2001, and much of this growth is concentrated in the National Institute of Health. The category also includes the Food and Drug Administration and dozens of grant programs for health providers.
Mortgage Credit: $470. While most of the bank bailouts occurred last year, the bailouts of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the rest of the housing market continue.
The programs listed above cover $29,328 per household. The remaining $2,078 is allocated to all other federal programs, including justice, international affairs, natural resources, the environment, regional development, farm subsidies, social services, space exploration, air transportation and energy.
Taxpayers – and the next generation that will be paying nearly half of the bill – must decide for themselves if they’re getting their money’s worth.

Your video is a lie, Cargosquid
From the link above:
What does the video show? Not much. Indeed, new interviews show that a much-viewed YouTube recording cited as evidence by conservatives was actually shot well after the time in question.”
There are a bunch of racist bigots in the Tea Party and conservatives are trying to cover up for them, rather than admit it.
I am so curious why pwctax thinks I am happy paying taxes. It seems like a snarky remark.
There are MANY VIDEOS. NONE, including video SHOT BY REPRESENTATIVE JACKSON, on two recorders, recorded any use of the “N” word. NONE. I notice that they do not post the link to said video in order to separate it out from the rest. They do not show how they know that the video they mention is the wrong one. Are they saying that they heard this racist talk while there were no videos present? Are they actually trying to say that they heard this talk as they arrived but the videos show them as they are leaving, when its clear that they are walking towards the Capitol? SHOW ME ANY PROOF THAT BACKS UP WHAT THEY SAY. In fact, if you can find it, Breitbart will pay you $100,000.
They are lying.
Kill all ear marks/pork. Get out of two sensless wars. Stop farm subsidies to huge agribusinesses. Stop subsidies to programs that are self-supporting. Stop foreign aid to Israel until they yell “Uncle” and they stop building unauthorized settlements. Folks should quit bitching about taxes–what most people complain about is the MARGINAL tax rate not their EFFECTIVE tax rate. While my marginal rate is 25%, my effective rate is 14%. While I don’t like paying taxes any more than the next person, I like the services that are provided.
MH– snarky – I like that. bless your heart 🙂 But hey I cannot think of a single tax or entitlement that you have not defended nor have you accepted any cuts or other alternative revenue enhancing measures that have been discussed here — that I am aware of. Did I miss one?
