Leonel Vega-Perezm, an illegal immigrant, has been charged with raping a 10 year old girl. We are not going into the sordid details. The incidences occurred in Manassas Park and in Prince William County. The victim was an acquaintance of Vega -Perezm.

We don’t usually run threads on this type of crime. There are other blogs you can go to for that kind of feeding frenzy. Today however, we are making an exception and we made an exception with the Osbourn High School teacher several weeks ago. Why? because there seems to be just too much of this sort of behavior going on in our community. The default answer as to why would be, “why school is out and our kids are outside and we need to keep a close eye on them.” Unfortunately, Kevin Ricks makes that comment less than valid. he was in a school, lurking and waiting and manipulating.

Child molestors come in all sizes, shapes, ages, educational levels, socio economic classes and ethnicities. This is the vilest of crimes to commit. The News & Messenger reported that local authories had called ICE. So what. ICE would have been notified regardless of the severity of the crime. Hopefully, Leonel Vega-Perezm stands trial and goes to prison for a good 20-25 years, if he is found guilty. He shouldn’t be needing ICE until then. He is a scourge on society and needs to be treated as such, if convicted.

I would be furious if he were turned over to ICE. He needs to stay right here in Prince William County and face the music until he is shipped out to a prison somewhere in the state. If he were just deported, he woud go back to his country of origin and do the same nasty, dastardly thing to some child there. Either we care about children, all children, or we don’t. We cannot differentiate our feelings because of their location. We need to protect them from creeps like this man and Kevin Ricks and all the other perverts who want to harm our children.

32 Thoughts to “Another area sexual predator arrested”

  1. PWC Taxpayer

Ah yes, if it were only so simple and clear cut. The problem is that it depends a great deal on what his “home county” really is – and if he can prove it. You see, there are requirements that limit the US to repatronizing illegals — only — to their “home” country. We cannot, unfortunatley, just drop them off any old place. If he is from Columbia, for example, he stays with us – under current relations. Now, assuming he has paid for his crime, we cannot just keep him in jail or prison – so he gets released here until he can be deported to his “home country.” This needs to change under “comprehensive immigration reform.” We need the authority to drop him in a dingy with a paddle off the coast of China and be done with him.

  2. We have a long time to figure out what to do with him. If he is convicted he hopefully will serve a long time. I expect he would be more than willing to tell authorities his country of origin.

He would not necessarily be released here, given the severity of the crime. Think about what ‘worst of the worst’ really means.

I simply cannot believe that you want to argue about this. Jesus, if a child molester going to jail isn’t clear cut enough, what is!

  3. Put him in with the general population, then we would not have to worry about his future release…..

  4. marinm

A lot of illegals are smart enough to say they’re Mexican to get deported literally across the border and try to re-enter within hours.

But, anyways I think that our LEOs don’t simply turn a suspect over to ice until he’s been tried in our courts. If he’s found guilty he’ll spend time in our jails paying his pound of flesh and then released into the custody of the Federales.

That is of course assuming that he makes it out of general population. Even criminals have standards.

  5. Lafayette

    @cargosquid
    Right on!

    @marinm
Even criminals have standards. So true, and this guy shouldn’t last too long in general population.

  6. Lafayette

I’m glad you posted this horrible story. Especially since the papers does NOT want reader feedback on this sick story. Did anyone else notice that the paper has the comments disabled? I guess they knew that the comments would be nice at all. Will Nancy come out and defend this guy like the rest of the illegal aliens?

  7. Lafayette

corr: I guess they knew that the comments would *NOT* be nice at all.

  8. Rick Bentley

This guy presumably would have been granted Amnesty in 2007 if the Presdient and Congress had their way.

  9. It doesn’t matter what Nancy does. She is irrelevant. That is why Corey keeps giving her name as the ‘opposition.’ He doesn’t want to have to deal with Elena.

They cut the comments off because of the fair trian notion, I have been told. I have noticed that they cut off comments on high profile cases. Someone needs to call and ask why they do that.

  10. I have probably mentioned this before but one of my best friend friends has a son in prison. I always thought that child molestors got killed the first week and that sort of thing. She told me that he (I will call him Tom) told her that the prison practice is not to tell what you have done. They do know that that they are in with child molestors and no one bothers them. He is in a level 2 even though he was convicted of manslaughter 1. Perhaps in the higher numbered facilities that is not the case.

Apparently your level is determined by many things but mainly your behavior while you are jailed.

The old ‘general population’ idea isn’t working so well in Virginia prisons, according to Tom (who is NOT in for child molesting.

  11. Slowpoke Rodriguez

This poor, picked-upon immigrant. He’s only here to make a better life for himself, build our houses, and maybe….just maybe….occasionally throw a load into a little girl. It’s probably a disease, for which he needs free help from county mental services. I feel bad for this poor victimized human being. Such extreme racial intolerance!

  12. Slowpoke Rodriguez

I bet she seduced him in order to incite hatred against immigrants!

  13. marinm

Slow.. throw a load? C’mon, keep it above board.. No reason to use that kinda of imagery especially when discussing the sexual assault of a defenseless girl.

Racism against hispanics!! Racism against hispanics!!

I’m sorry…..”make sweet tender love to a little girl”…..that better?

  16. I am going to side with Marin. We are talking about a defenseless girl. This is serious stuff and the sarcasm is unnecesary. You will never find sympathy for any child molestor on this blog.

In my world, raping a child is raping a child. I would be more than happy for anyone who rapes a child to get the death penalty. I don’t give a good G-damn what the ethnicity is. I also don’t care what the IQ of the perp is. If he is below average, death penalty. Gifted? death penalty. This behavior is rarely ‘cured.’

  17. And it is comments like the ones slowpoke made that make me sorry I ever put up a topic thread on this situation. I deviated from course and I am sorry. Obviously, this is not a topic we can discuss without becoming bottom feeders.

  18. Slowpoke Rodriguez

You’re Welome! Always happy to help!

  19. Slowpoke, are you for open discussion? Why can’t people hear discuss things without seeking out the lowest common denominator?

  20. Rick Bentley

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_North_America

“The age of consent in Mexico is complex. Typically, Mexican states have a “primary” age of consent (which may be as low as 12), and sexual conduct with children below that age is always illegal. Sexual relations between adults and teenagers are left in a legal gray area: laws against adults “corrupting” minors may be used sometimes to punish such sexual encounters, as well as laws against engaging in sexual relations with “chaste and honest” teenage girls by means of “seduction”. These laws are situational and are subject to interpretation.”

  21. Rick Bentley

“In Mexico, criminal legislation is shared between the federal and state governments. The federal law establishes the age of 12 as the minimum age of consent, while the age at which there are no restrictions for consensual sexual activities is 18 (sex with children 12-18 is not illegal per se, but can still be open to prosecution under certain circumstances). Local state laws may override the federal law. In practice , the decision as to whether or not to prosecute is left to state authorities regardless of the younger person’s age. At state level, the minimum ages of consent vary between 12 (and puberty in a few states) and 15, while the age at which there are no restrictions for consensual sexual activities vary from 16 to 18 (most common 18).”

That’s like, 7th grade girls. Ick.

(Hopefully this sarcasm will offend people less than Slowpoke’s)

So, in putting together a “deport the worst ones” policy, I guess Obama and Napolitano need to establish threshold values, since we don’t have sufficient resources to deport everyone? Maybe if you rape a child 11 or younger it’s automatic deportation, but 12 or above is just a cultural difference and gets you a court hearing?

Or if you rape 3 children between 12 and 16 you have to go to an ICE court hearing, and suffer the imposition of having to acquire another fake ID and identity?

Maybe if you rape a child you have to pay a $500 fine and learn English?

  22. Rick Bentley

    (sarcasm alert still on)

One thing is obvious. We can only protect our children by way of some type of comprehensive solution that lets some people break statutory rape laws some of the time, in exchange for presumed good behavior at other times.

I mean, it’s not as if law enforcement can protect all children at all times or see what goes on behind closed doors. How couold we afford to police the situation? Better to effect some type of compromise solution.

  23. Rick, stop being male. Don’t compare consenual sex to rape. Rape is rape. It is about power.

Different cultures have different mores about sexual behavior. You don’t have to go to Mexico to see it. Check out FLDS. Do we approve? No. Of course not. However, it has nothing to do with rape.

I am very opposed to deporting rapists. That is a trip home to rape children elsewhere. I want that person serving time and lots of it here in the United States.

  24. Rick Bentley

I agree but of course the real triumph would be not to let rapists walk across our border, get jobs at local businesses, work as day laborers, hang out near local schools, and crowd into townhomes in our communities, all the while with the ACLU and nearly every elected official consiring to make them feel comfortable about it and maybe offer them citizenship if they pay a fine.

  25. Rick Bentley

I think, MH, that as you start to deal with a 10-year old or a 12-year old that the barrier between “rape-rape” and “consensual” breaks down. I doubt that the 10-year old in this case was screaming and crying throughout the rape.

  26. How about figuring out a way to stamp out all child rapists. Lets go a step further and say all rapists of anyone.

This 12 year old talk has to stop. It has nothing to do with what happens in this country or in any other country. Age of consent is irrelevant. What happens in Mexico is irrelevant. The perp was from Bolivia.

I dont know why you are clouding the issue. Rape is illegal. When children are raped, the act is even more heinous.

  27. Rick Bentley

I’m not trying to cloud any issue.

Within America, we track our citizens when they are sex offenders.

It’s unconscionable to me to maintain a climate where we allow other people to cross the border unchecked and settle in our communities.

  28. Rick Bentley

I bring up 12 because it’s pretty interesting to me how differently we see the world than Mexicans do.

  29. Rick Bentley

Moon, you clouded the issue. You implied that I was mixing up consensual sex with rape. You can’t distinguish them with a 10-year old.

  30. Slowpoke Rodriguez

    Moon-howler :
Slowpoke, are you for open discussion? Why can’t people hear discuss things without seeking out the lowest common denominator?

I prefer the least common factor

  31. Slowpoke Rodriguez

Greatest Common Factor. I’m sooooo retarded.

  32. Least common multiple. Greatest common factor.

I understand. The answer is no to adult discussion.
