Let’s see who has been a good sassy cat this year. All you witches and warlocks gather for some comments…and remember please, warlocks, to keep it civil or the great pumpkin will squash on your porch.
Morris Davis :
Cargo — Well, now that you’ve mentioned Ben Franklin, I agree with his quote, “Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain, and most fools do.”
OH! And That’s what we call shooting yourself in the foot!
“These Republican leaders who don’t put their names in print but make comments in shadows need to shut up,” Steele said.
Or as Palin said about those hiding in the shadows: “And these are the brave people who want to lead the nation and run the world? And they’re not brave enough to put their name in an article.” She suggests that they “man up.”
Slow, is that your outline I see, or is that Cargo?
@Morris Davis
I’m telling ya, this obsession with my identity is very suspicious! All you need to know about me is that I’m a 10 year old girl and I DON’T want you meet with you offline.
@Slow, no. is angry birds worth getting? I am not very good with ipad either. I can’t type worth you know what on it. Also, I dont feel it is that intuitive, mainly because I never had an iphone.
By the way…Manassas City Guidance counselors are hosting their annual, winter clothing give away tomorrow at Manassas Baptist Church. Any clothing donations (men, women’s, children) that you may have can be dropped off at any Man City Elem school tomorrow. The clothing give away is scheduled from 630-830pm tomorrow. Volunteers are needed to sort clothes during the day tomorrow, and volunteers are needed to help with the give away in the evening.
Moon-howler :
Nancy is alive and well. Just wait…every idiotic thing that John Boehner says or does will be set off in sky lights. Starry will see to it.
Do all speakers of the house abuse dermatological products? Botox Nancy or Orangeman John…both look silly.
Had to laugh at your botox and orangeman comments! Anyone who uses those fake tanning products comes out looking like they are a cartoon character and might glow in the dark. Nancy’s whole face will be frozen soon as she talks with all that botox.
Moon-howler :
@Slow, no. is angry birds worth getting? I am not very good with ipad either. I can’t type worth you know what on it. Also, I dont feel it is that intuitive, mainly because I never had an iphone.
I agree on the iPad, although typing on it is not too bad – but I haven’t done a lot of that yet – I’ve only had my iPad for a few weeks and still have my laptop so use it for most tasks involving typing. What’s Angry Birds – an iPad app? I’ll have to do a search for it.
Wow. The measure to legalize weed in California is trailing by 7 points. What the hell is wrong with the world if you can’t smoke pot in California? I had my uhaul packed up and everything… 🙁
It will be interesting to see what kind of party switching shenanigans go on if Rs end up with 49 seats in the Senate.
@Gainesville Resident
Angry Birds is the top selling game for iPad. I almost never buy games (cause I never really play them enough to justify the expense). I didn’t know what it was until I finally broke down and got it because it’s so popular. It’s pretty fun. Addictive fun!

I haven’t bought any apps for the iPad yet – I’ve found enough free stuff so far. Actually, out here I saw the soldiers playing something similar on their iPhones, as it also had some kind of slingshot type thing where you tried to hit the bad guys. Whatever that game is, it has a whole bunch of levels of difficulty and they are up high. It looked like the same general idea as this – or maybe it was but it looked slightly different from that video clip. Of course, it has to be a lot better on the iPad than on the iPhone.
Cato the Elder :
It will be interesting to see what kind of party switching shenanigans go on if Rs end up with 49 seats in the Senate.
You mean like that idiot Senator from Pennsylvania who switched to the Democrat side a few years back? Didn’t help him, he didn’t get reelected anyway.
Timmy was “smoking” again on the pitching mound last night.
Cheers to him and all the San Francisco Giants and their fans.
Fifty-four years of waiting, but it finally happened!
(The Beard and The Machine are pure SF area types – a great American
city full of beauty, style and zany enough to be always interesting.
What other city, besides your hometown, would you leave your
“heart in”?)
Two things. First, did Corey Stewart appear in a video at Jon Stewart’s rally? I didn’t go. Mrs. NTK and I both enjoy Stewart, but we were busy and felt that as Republicans we might not fit in well. I heard only about 10% of attendees were Republican. I watched the rally on TV and frankly was not very impressed. His TV show is better.
Second, did anyone other than me watch “Jeopardy!” last night? Annabel Park was a question. They gave her name and asked what movement she started that was similar to the Tea Party – answer, the Coffee Party. I’m not a member of either but found it interesting that a local person became a “Jeopardy!” question.
Lived long enough to see both parties kicked in the teeth during
elections. The Republicans were declared DOA the morning
after Goldwater’s defeat and the Dems after McGovern’s debacle – etc.
A group can sometimes win an election with emotion and slogans but
actual governing requires getting down to the nuts and bolts and often
having to make tough, sometimes unpopular choices.
He appeared for about 10 seconds in the montage on sound bites in the media that enflame issues and burn ants. He was right up there with hannity, matthews,Olbermann, O’Reilly.
Wow that is neat about Annabel being a Jeopardy question. Thanks for sharing that.
Shots fired at Coast Guard recruiting station near Pot Mills.
Does anyone remember the outrage over that DHS report about the chances of a terrorist emerging out of post military service? There has actually been a lot of it. (and historically it is not that unusual)

Is there any evidence that this person is ‘post military’? You know what they say about assuming 🙂
Consider the FBI profile has said on TV that the person probably is ex military, mI hardly think it is an assumption, but more a speculation based on what the experts are saying.
Hello, change your moniker. There is already a censored here. Let me do this one more time. I will not put any more comments through under that moniker. As the owners of the blog, Elena and I censor all the time. You have made your point. Feel free to say Moderation by Moonhowlings or anything you want.
You simply refuse to understand or accept that when you are in our house, you go by our rules. Why is this so difficult? This falls into the category of one of those things you really ought ot be able to get without explanation.
Went to vote over at the government center at Bull Run and it’s going ape**** over there! 5 Black Panther guys rolled up with AK-47s and announced that whites are no longer allowed to vote on Tuesday, so go home. Some guy came over with a camcorder and they shot him dead on the spot! SWAT teams are on the way in, shots are ringing out, it’s really crazy …
No just kidding. Quiet day at the polling place, ina nd out in 3 minutes.
Probably not a good idea to bring up those snipers. Mohammad was ex-military. Most crimes are solved because of profiling. I don’t expect 100% all of the time. It saves me from disappointment and bitterness. And as to that white van….that was from witnesses. Considering how many white vans there are in the area, I can see how that happened. As for the race…most serial killers are white male. That is historical and not even part of profiling.
marinm :Anyone else notice no “I Voted!” stickers? I was looking forward to putting the sticker on my holster.
Same thing at my precinct. I was quite disappointed and mentioned it on FB. Is the county Registrar that broke in PWC? I wish I’d known that before I filled out my survey.
If you don’t want one, then don’t take one. I think they remind others to vote. Just my opinion.
It’s a shame we have such a low voter turnout. Get out and exercise your right to vote. Now, there’s a real waste, NOT voting.
Heck, I got two stickers. One for me and one for my daughter, who actually pushed the buttons. Then I got a third when she wanted one to wear. She’s putting the first two on her bedroom door “wall of stickers.”
And I voted for Floyd Baines. Not Cantor. Just to up his percentage. Cantor will still win. And if he doesn’t, maybe he’ll learn a lesson. We can survive a Democrat Representative. We’re surviving (barely) a Democratic Congress and President…..
@Cargo, I would like Cantor to learn a lesson also but probably not the lesson you want him to learn. What do you have against him?
@Lafayette, I ususally decline but in tough budget times, that’s one of the first things that should go. It is sort of fru fru. I guess people could always make them.
All the people here voted early. That’s 6 yeses and 2 Barnettes from West By God and more Barnettes from the home front.
I guess they are like the postcards in your book. 😉 We’ll have to agree to disagree. How much is the savings? Those stickers are cheap and we have low voter turnout.
@laf
The invitations were definitely also a waste of $30k. I have no idea how much the vote stickers were. I would not suggest they never get them. I just am not upset that is where they chose to cut corners. I guess in this case the ‘they’ is the board of elections in PWC.
I doubt the voter stickers cost any where near as much as the dumb ass invitations.
Just out of curiosity, what did the invitations do? As I see it, they prettied up something that should have never been. All those people turned out to speak out against something and those supervisors had already made up their minds. /why they were playing an election.
The invitations were disingenuous and costly. Thirty thousand dollars would go a long ways here in Prince William County.
The invites got Mrs. Caddigan to remind Corey he “invited all of these people to speak”.
Other famous words. “It was all about an election, honey”-Hilda Barg.
Classic lines from two of the few women to grace the dias. 🙂
Very few have. and there certainly isn’t much variance in the supervisor demographic. Corey needed reminding. Come one, come all, but only one minute to speak. So…why were those invitations sent out? I never did get it. The printer and the post office made money off the deal.
Prince William really doesn’t have a very good voter turn out.
On an unrelated note (as far as the election talk goes) but continuing on an earlier post in this thread – I did see the soldiers today playing “Angry Birds” on their iPhones. Some are up to some high level and hit some thing where they had to open up a bird’s beak and retrieve something from there. I’m sure the iPad version is a lot better of course.
Now, back to the regularly scheduled election talk….
She must be trying hard to enjoy her last days as House Speaker! Good riddance.
Cargo — Well, now that you’ve mentioned Ben Franklin, I agree with his quote, “Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain, and most fools do.”

I don’t know…the orange glow is kinda growing on me. What I would really like to see is an ashtray next to the speaker’s gavel.

I’m not nearly as good with the iPad…make too many mistakes. Hey Moon, you have Angry Birds?
@Slow, no. is angry birds worth getting? I am not very good with ipad either. I can’t type worth you know what on it. Also, I dont feel it is that intuitive, mainly because I never had an iphone.

Mr. Taylor of Louisa County/Eric Cantor fame goes to trail this Thursday on 3 separate charges. The complaintant is the acting police chief.
This one might just be one to follow. Talk about a speedy trail.

Well, California voted umpteen times to ban gay marriage, too.

Senator Arlen Spector – I just remembered his name.
That is surprising about California’s legalizing weed initiative, I would have thought that would pass easily there.
Let Timmy smoke!

Same in Gainesville. I was there around 8:15 and I was in and out in 5 minutes or less.
Easy in and out at my polling station, too. Added bonus was meeting CindyB and having a brief chat. Nice to meet ya!
Is that better?
“Consider the FBI profile has said on TV that the person probably is ex military,”
Moon, would that be the same FBI profilers that said the Beltway Snipers were white, driving a van…….

Cindy’s a great person.
Same thing at my precinct. I was quite disappointed and mentioned it on FB. Is the county Registrar that broke in PWC? I wish I’d known that before I filled out my survey.
Who really cares? I think it is a waste of money. I throw mine out. Its no one’s business if I voted or not unless I chose to tell them.

I’m considering watching the election coverage on MSNBC tonight. Anyone wanna take bets that Olbermann swallows poison on national TV tonight?
http://www2.insidenova.com/news/2010/nov/02/no-i-voted-stickers-ar-624410/
No stickers in PWC due to budget cuts. Just as I predicted.

Gainesville,
My daughter is loves Angrey Birds. I’ve yet to try it out. I’m afraid I might like it too much.
