There is talk on the street of an odd couple running for president and vice president and you will never believe who the odd couple is: Joe Scarborough and Michael Bloomberg. Scarborough is a former GOP congressman from Florida who now hosts the Morning Joe on MSNBC. Bloomberg is the billionaire mayor of New York. Both are moderates.
The idea of 2 moderates running as Independents just sounds like manna from heaven to me. Many of us are so sick of political parties. Both men are friends and both deny they have discussed running. This sounds like an iniative I could support.
How nutty is this idea?

The idea is DOA in my humble opinion.
It is an excellent idea. I hope all those moderates who voted for BHO in 2008 will vote for these moderates to show how much they despise political parties.
hmmmm….and who do you think will win, Kelly????
Bloomberg is a moderate Democrat. (yes, I know he’s technically a Republican. Heck even Mayor Koch was more conservative than he is.) Scarborough is a moderate talk show host.
Soooo, really? Who’s going to be the Presidential candidate and for what party? The talk must be on a side street…..
And Scarborough is also a former Congressman. GOP in fact. Maybe Scarborough and Stewart (Jon) for the ticket. ho ho ho
So where are the GOP candidates? 2012 is right around the corner.
I’d like to see Mitch Daniels, Jon Huntsman, Bobby Jindall, and Tim Pawlenty in that order. Notice they’re all successful present or past executives of well-run states. With respect to competence and pragmatic leadership you’d be hard pressed to find a better candidate than Daniels: http://www.economist.com/node/16846340?story_id=16846340
Am I a degenerate for not knowing who the first 2 are?
It seems that I must step into the breach once more……
Since I have no campaign funds, I must re-use my campaign materials from 2008:

And even then, the press gets the name wrong. Its all one word…..

Not at all, most folks don’t recognize their names. They’re not politicians of the “look at me” variety, rather they quietly sit back and (gasp) actually do the job they were elected to do. Daniels is the Governor of Indiana and Huntsman is the former Governor of Utah and our current Ambassador to China (he also speaks fluent Mandarin – which could come in handy over the next several years).
