8 Thoughts to “Prepare to eat historical reenactment!”

  1. Pat.Herve

Could she just once fess up and say that she got it wrong – I would have gotten this one right, but there are many historical events that I would get wrong too. And then she has to defend herself saying that what she said was correct –

  2. Cindy B

Even Emily Litella apologized for her mixups:

Emily Litella: I’m here tonight to speak out against busting schoolchildren. Busting schoolchildren is a terrible, terrible thing. I hear this is going on all over the country. Mean policemen arrest little children and put them in jail in the wrong neighborhood, so they can’t even play with their little friends.

Chevy Chase: [ interrupting ] Miss Litella? I’m sorry. The editorial was on bussing schoolchildren. Bussing. Not busting.

Emily Litella: Oh. I’m sorry. Never mind.

  3. Totally agree Pat and Cindy. Its forgivable to have mix ups and to misspeak. It is unforgivable to keep insisting you are right when clearly you were confused.

What’s more, Palin has a history of behaving like this. She can never admit she or her kids are wrong. No personal accountability or responsibility for this chick. Always right.

One of her kids called someone a fag because people were saying mean things about their family. BS. Palin needs to read a little Harry Truman, paying particular attention to what he has to say about taking the heat in kitchens.

  4. Elena and I both thought Colbert was hilarious in this skit. I am not a big fan of Colbert and he often leaves me sort of flat…but not this time. I was hysterical.

  5. punchak

    Agree – it WAS funny!!!

Lisa and I had to pause the Colbert clip we were laughing so hard.

Here is the “gotcha” question that led to Palin’s rambling revision of American history: “What have you seen so far today and what are you going to take away from your visit?” I’m guessing the reporter wasn’t think that one was going to lead to a blooper reel all-star. Someone who lacks the intellectual capacity to handle a softball like that in the middle of the afternoon shouldn’t be anywhere near the football when the phone rings at 2 a.m. at the White House.

    1. @Moe,

I think you have just summed up why I would find Palin in office horribly frightening.

She doesn’t have what it takes to carry the football.

  7. Bear

She probably doesn’t know what the “football” is. She would probably say that as president she wouldn’t follow sports!
