This guy is just lame.
I hope they didn’t pay much for him. Talking about a need for vetting!
The Republican Leadership Conference met in New Orleans and ended up shooting itself in the foot pretty quickly with a maverick Obama impersonator named Reggi Brown. Reggie not only took some questionable shots at Obama but he really took aim at some of the party faithful.
Some examples of his poor choice of humor:
1. Lewd photos of Anthony Weiner
2. Saying Gingrich’s supporters “are dropping faster than Anthony Weiner’s pants.”
3. Saying Pawlenty wasn’t there because he was having surgery–his foot being removed from his mouth.
4. joking about Romney’s Mormon faith and about polygamy,
5. remarks about Rep. Michele Bachmann’s tea party support.
6. Making birther jokes: ” Obama was born in Hawaii, “or as the tea partyers call it, Kenya,” he said.
7. Showing the president as Fred Sanford.
8. Showing former first lady Barbara Bush as George Washington.
9. Showing George W talking on an upside down phone.
This dude should not quit his day job. Not funny.
Brown’s mike was finally cut and he was escorted off stage. Live and learn, GOP.
It sounds like they thought it was just hilarious as long as the fun was poked at Obama. It got a little touchy when the pendulum swung the other way.
None of those 9 examples look bad to me. Maybe he didn’t deliver funny, but on the surface, the material doesn’t look bad. I’m with Rick Perry here….the left isn’t going to like us anyway, so f ’em!
There are many (I include Bob Saget in this group) who are not funny no matter how good the material is.
OK, Kardashian wasn’t funny, half of February wasn’t. Washington was funny. Upside down phone was funny. Sanford was darn funny. The inability to laugh at themselves is the only problem I see with the video. Now if you’re looking to talk bad taste in comedy……oh, buddy, have I got some examples for you!!!
Actually, from what I saw and read, simply not being funny was more obvious than being racially offensive. I don’t think he was paid to turn on the group paying him though.
I think that Mormon comments about polygamy were very offensive. The LDS church really doesn’t think that is too funny.
Here, check out a very typical-looking and sounding liberal musing on Palin, then we’ll talk about “keeping it classy”.

Looks like he [Brown] bashed everyone, Left or Right..
On a positive note he didn’t call a female politician the “C” word to laughs.
With comedians you never know what you’re going to get. Reference Colbert at the 2006 WH Correspondents Dinner.
Hey, with that comedian we have in the Oval…..never mind.
The website for Reggie Brown says his act “draws laughs from both sides of the aisle.” Apparently the RLC has an aisle-biased sense of humor. This was no “you never know what you’re going to get” with comedians thing or a comic “goin’ rogue” trying to score a “gotcha” on the Repubs. This was standard Reggie Brown material.

So? Poles don’t think polack jokes are funny. Gays don’t think gay jokes are funny. Blacks don’t think black jokes are funny. I’m sure Aethelred II didn’t think the “unready” thing was funny, either. All these sorts of jokes are offensive to someone. The Mormons, if deeply offended, need to learn not to take things so seriously.
Say, that reminds me….How do you sink a [redacted] submarine? Knock on the door.
How can you tell when you’re in a [redacted} town?
By the toiletpaper hanging out to dry.
BTW – I didn’t get the half Friday joke.
I heard some of it on CSPAN. The jokes were lame. What’s worse than an offensive joke is an unfunny joke.
@Slowpoke Rodriguez
Actually, people need to learn not to say rude things in public. Why do people feel the need to be such oafs?
Making such comments are rude, crude and socially unattractive.
I would prefer that no one tell offensive jokes, especially on this blog.
@Freddie
I agree, Freddie.
You guys are a crack-up.
I didn’t realize that trying to live in a civil society which people were respectful to each other had come such a laughing matter.
You mean like “Republicans are bigots?” Like that? Sorry to break it to you, but yeah, it’s funny.
@Slow, I didn’t make the original comment and I did comment on what was said with a correction of sorts.
What is your point? And I didn’t see anyone laughing.
If you are hyper-sensitive to the point where you feel as though you have to redact the word “French” (you could stick any nationality in there) out of a joke that’s maybe 30 years old, then it is funny, because life has some awfully cruel surprises in store, I’m afraid.
@Slow, you missed the point. (or did you?) I can’t have a thread about not name calling and not redact national slurs (and there were 2) Wouldn’t ‘the enemy’ just have loved that obvious set up.
We’ve got Bill Maher this weekend saying that NJ Governor Chris Christie should be called “Gov. Fat Fatty”, so I’m not convinced the RNC needs to take pointers from the left on being civil. In fact, I would argue that the RNC shouldn’t be at ALL concerned with what the left thinks about what goes on within the party. This stems from my strong conviction that the RNC is perfectly capable of screwing everything up all by themselves, without help or comment from the left.
Who ever said that Bill Maher was civil or a Democrat? Have you heard some of the things that Maher says about the current Prez? He takes no prisoners.
The point: It was a GOP function. They were embarrassed, as they should have been. They did the right thing and cut the mike. However, some of us were questioning if the comedian hadn’t started in on the home base, if he would have been removed. One can only speculate after hearing the raucus laughter after some of the Obama non-funnies.
Do Democratic functions ever have stupid things happen. Yes. Why must we pull out one to match the Republicans? Let them have their day in the sun for now. Everyone knows it will be difficult to top Weiner-gate.
Am glad I don’t watch that crap. That way I don’t have to clog up my brain with useless junk.
