Christine O’Donnell acted the “Troublemaker” during her short interview on the Piers Morgan Show Wednesday night.. The interview was short because O’Donnell refused to answer his questions and ended the interview, stating that he was rude and that she wanted to talk about what she wanted to talk about.
The topic Christine O’Donnell didn’t want to discuss was about gay marriage. Piers Morgan said that the topic was in her book and was obviously taken aback when she accused him of being rude.
According to the Christian Science Monitor:
The trouble started when Morgan asked O’Donnell about a part of her book that discussed gay marriage. That’s when O’Donnell accused him of “borderline being a little bit rude.”
O’Donnell repeatedly urged Morgan to drop the topic of gay rights, but Morgan would not back down, asking another question about the Pentagon‘s repeal of its “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
Morgan at one point looked as though he was trying to hold back a smile, and insisted, “I think I’m being rather charming and respectful.”
I heard nothing that could be described as rude coming from Piers Morgan. I did hear Christine O’Donnell being weird but that is a given. What does surprise me is that she is even considered a serious player at this point. Earlier, O’Donnell told Good Morning America that she regretted doing her “I am not a witch ad.”
Christine O’Donnell has a history of doing things that seem to highlight bad judgement. Her Piers Morgan interview seems to to add to that long list. O’Donnell should know existentially that hosts set their own agenda. Very few guests have the status to set their own agenda with most hosts. Certainly O’Donnell does not have that status.
So was Piers Morgan being rude or was Christine O’Donnell again being the victim?
Morgan needs this…badly. CNN bet a lot on good ole Piers, and his ratings are the joke of the industry.
@pokie
You are really tied in to ratings, aren’t you? Isn’t that the same as a popularity contest?
I know that Morning Joe doesn’t get nearly as many watchers as Fox and Friends. I could care less how many people watch Fox and Friend other than the number of uninformed people are going out into the world each day. I would prefer not to join their ranks.
Morning Joe is far more fair and balanced. It has interesting discussions and the guests are from all political spectrums. Pat Buchanan is a regular. Joe is a Republican and Mika is a Democrat. I like hearing the give and take rather than being spoonfed someone else’s regurgitated biases.
Now, how about Christine O’donnell making a fool of herself….again?
This is embarrassing.
I think Piers was quite charming, actually! He closed the show by saying your welcome to Christine, and that she was welcome back tomorrow night(now tonight) to finish what they started. So, think she’ll go back. lol
She acted like a bratty little kid. I want to talk about what I want to talk about. blah, blah, blah.
O’Donnell is clearly a nitwit. So, she’s in the right profession.
She’s an idiot, and a perfect representative of the Tea Party. Geez, where do they find these people?
Did she gain weight?
that was the weirdest interview I have ever seen! VERY entertaining though, VERY!
Flexing our intellect again, I see. You are a perfect representative of the left. Absolutely perfect.
“So was Piers Morgan being rude or was Christine O’Donnell again being the victim”
This is classic. “So and I right or are you wrong?”
am I, not and.
Oh, and by the way….there was nothing wrong with Morgan’s question. If she had any brains or conviction at all, she should be able to answer the question without hesitation. What she did here was run away from her own stated views and refuse to defend them. Piers Morgan was 100% OK here, and O’Donnell performed horribly. Her excuses were pitiful, and it’s clear she was looking to do this.
@pokie, grrrrrr! you figured out the formula for the trick question!!!
I think she was on something. She didn’t even make sense. I agree. O’Donnell was very weird.
I don’t think she was on something. I think she clearly walked into the interview with a chip on her shoulder, and likely planned to walk out before the thing started. Because she did it so poorly, my guess is she planned it as a publicity stunt. My bottom line: if you truly believe what you say, and you’ve thought it through to the conclusion you’ve reached, and you know your subject matter (even if it’s opinion), then you should be able to field questions. I saw nothing “out of bounds” about Morgan’s questions about gay marriage, other than the bounds she threw up at the last second. Weak.
I agree with Slowpoke – publicity stunt. If you’re Christine O’Donnell and hawking a book, what better way to stir up interest than to have a hissy fit for a little publicity. Afterall, who gives a damn about a book written by her. She was a Tea Party flash-in-the-pan.
@Censored, very much flash, very little pan. She made such a fool of herself.
That was kind of painful to watch. Can I have my 3 minutes back?
Nope. Let the buyer beware around here. YOu got even though because I fell for watching Kung Fu fighting.
I don’t understand why she was invited in the first place.
Why give her air time?
She has written a book called Troublemaker.
Yawn. Then she didn’t want to talk about what was in the book other than what SHE wanted to talk about. Loser.
