This is classic! Corey’s fundraiser the other night, almost a quarter of a million dollars, says it all. I well remember when Corey excoriated Sharon Pandak for being ” The Developers Candidate” and how he was the people’s candidate. Times sure have changed.
2007 exerp fom the letter Corey Stewart submitted to Advocates for The Rural Crescent regarding his opponent Sharon Pandak:
“I am pleased to see that my opponent in this years election has changed her mind about pledging to protect the Rural Crescent. YOur supporters should be reminded that my opponent refused to sign the rural protection pledge a mere eleven months ago during the last years special election. By contrast, I have always stood as an uncompromised champion of protecting the Rural Areas of our county against development encroachments. Since my opponent was the developers candidate in last years special election, and is quietly so again this year, there are some who might view her decision to sign the pledge this year as politicl posturing intended to confuse the voters.”
Well, since this letter, Corey voted for Avendale which took over 125 acres out to the Rural Crescent and put several hundred homes were only 12 were allowed by the the Comp Plan. Corey has now taken over the mantle of the “Developers Candidate” as VPAP clearly demonstrates with the numerous large developer campaign contributions.
Guess what industry gave the highest amount of money……….real estate/construction (139,857.00)

My oh my, how the not so mighty have fallen.
Leteef’s campaign ads are clever. I got a great one over the weekend that caught my eye. Usually most of the election lit ends up in file 13 without me even looking at it.
The ad certainly captured Stewart’s vulnerabilities in a pointed. balll-smashing manner. The ad belongs in the Virginia Campaign Hall of Fame.
Of course, one local blogger made an opposition video that is helping his dude’s opponent.
Doh.
And now that we’ve heard from the Lateef fan club! Is it lonely at the meetings?
@Slowpoke Rodriguez
I’m not sure it’s the Lateef fan club, nearly as much as it is anyone but Corey fan club. Of course, this is just my view. I don’t think anyone on this blog was a fan of his foreclosure mess. Just my two cents.
We just like the movie pokie. We have not selected a chairman.
It is just darn clever.
Pokie, don’t assume. It makes an ASS out of U and ME.
ABC, Laf, ABC
that is a great ad – and may be effective.
I have to question the amount of money it costs to run ads on television – for a supervisors race? We complain about the run away money that our government is spending on every level, and do not face the reality, that the reason why there are corporate donations to the ever increasing cost of campaigns, is to get the government projects, or get their way.
I also saw the Cain ad – blowing smoke at the camera, and a weird smile…. strange.
It was a great ad. I just saw it on msnbc this morning. How will it translate in to votes? Good question.
I have a horrible problem with how much money is spent on elections. Everyone ends up owning someone.
You are right. The Cain ad was very weird and strange and creepy. <-----my word, not Pat's.
I have to go into “red dawn” mode.

I’m glad you pointed out the letters. 🙂
Found out this is the Arlington firm responsible for Babar Lateef’s new commercial. Great job!
