Geez, if Pat Robertson says the GOP is too extreme, you need to worry.  Isn’t this the dude who said Katrina was caused by gay people?  If Pat get it, so should everyone else.  If Pat “liberals are akin to Nazis’ Robertson thinks you are too extreme, maybe he is on to something.  Perhaps he has had an ephiphany.

Let’s focus. Who is the candidate who is going to come through here and do a big whup-ass on Obama?  Just tell us the candidate.  We will prepare.  Thanks for the warning, Pat.  Will the next warning  be delivered  by a horde of locusts?

    Pat Robertson says the GOP is too extreme? Did I fall into a wormhole into another dimension? Anyway, check out the Herman Cain smoking ad. Mind-Boggling!!

  2. Starryflights

    For once I agree with Pat Robertson.

  3. I never thought I would say those words, Starry.

    Slowpoke, I can throw you a rope. (to get out of the wormhole)

    I don’t think it woud have been hypocrotical to just not smoke during the commercial. Geez.

    He needs a cowboy hat to be the Marlboro Man.

    So why is it when Pat Robertson says something bizzare, there are literal howls in protest from those on the left, and comments questioning his mental stability, but when he attacks the right, he’s suddenly some wise and lucid man, who should be listened to?

    @Steve Thomas
    If Shaquille O’neal says that someone is tall, then you know that person is VERY tall. If Serena Williams is impressed with someone’s powerful forehand, then you know that person has a VERY powerful forehand. If James Carville says that someone is weird looking, then you know that guy is extremely weird looking.

    Pat Robertson has said some crazy things so the campaign rhetoric has gotta be way way over the top for Pat Robertson to want to tone it down. Get it?

  6. @Steve, I never said he was wise. I was just astounded that he said that. But I guess you didn’t mean me as a left. I think I covered his mental stability with the gays causing Katrina comment in the original post.

  7. “howls of protest” hurummmppphhhhhttttttttt!!!! HOOOOOWWWWL!

  8. Steve Thomas

    How about this? When Pat Roberston says “Gays caused Katrina”, or something bizzare like that, we dismiss this as fringe talk, and when he says the GOP is too extreme, we dismiss this as fringe talk. I think Pat might need to speak to HIS pastor (and yes, pastor’s should have pastors). The way of the fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who seeks counsel. Not saying Pat is a fool. What I’m saying is he might want to get a reality check from his Christian accountability partner.
    And no, the comment wasn’t directed at you, Moon, inspite of the “howl” reference. It wasn’t directed at anyone in particular…well except Starry, maybe. Just a little.

    As food for thought. If the GOP is extreme, as Pat would assert, that would mean only hard corps conservatives should be seeking the nomination, or, the most conservative should be leading in the polls, correct? If you look at the GOP field, you see a range from very moderate to very conservative, and everything including a Libertarian in between. Now look at who the Democrats put up in 2008: 2 candidates, basically of the same ideology, seperated only by a matter of degrees. Rick Santorum, Ron Paul, and John Huntsman are miles apart from each other. Obama and Clinton, much closer to each other.

    and the the “most conservative”, Bachman and Santorum, are polling single digits, just like “very moderate” Hunstman. Sorry Pat, but your argument doesn’t prove out.

    You forgot one of the Democrat candidates…..Romney.

    Tell me he wouldn’t win if he ran as a Democrat. 😉

    1. He would not win as a Democrat I do not think. He lacks a few Dem requirements. @Cargo

      Got those pumpkins carved yet?

      I want one with MY name on it.

  11. @Steve

    Who do you see as the strongest candidate and why?

    I like Jon Huntsman. That should at least prove one of your points. 😈

  12. Cargosquid

    @Moon-howler
    What does he lack? He’s supported, at one time or another, every liberal cause.

    Names? On a pumpkin?

    Heck, I still have to go GET the pumpkins. And the horror makeup. My daughter wants to be a zombie…….I told her that she just has to pretend that its 6:30 am on a school day…….perfect.

    She threw a sock at me.

    So violent! I don’t know where she gets it.
