Whoooooooo  Whoooooooo   Whoooooooo   Whoooooooo    Whoooooooo

Today is Halloween and all the spooks and goblins will be out in full force tonight, when the veil is the thinnest.

Does everyone have enough candy?  Should you get your house egged if you hand out raisins and dried fruit?

    Pro-coice is NOT pro-abortion. Geez.
Just my two cents. I refuse to debate this one.

Sorry, but you do not get to define whether a person is an independent or not. We come in all political bents.

I didn’t define you as an “independent”. You did.

    @Lafayette
” I refuse to debate this one.”

    Then I won’t either. Fair?

He didn’t say you weren’t independent. Just that you were DEFINITELY leftist. He didn’t say that you belonged to any party.

  5. Censored bybvbl

Okay. I misread his statement because of the quotes. I thought he implied that it was questionable that I was an independent.

  6. Cato the Elder

Perhaps a new category is in order?

    De facto Democrats.

Or, DFD for short. Isn’t that clever?

  7. Slowpoke Rodriguez

Seriously….I’ve known cats who were more qualified to be President than Obama. He held state and federal office….yeah, for like, 5 minutes a piece. That’s hil-LAR-ious!!

Absolutely, sir. I just wanted to make my two cents known for what it’s worth. 🙂

No one is pro-abortion. That term is meant to insult and misrepresent those of us who feel it is not the job of government to decide when or whether a woman will bear children.

We who are pro-choice believe we are capable of making our own morally appropriate decisions on this matter without the government’s help.

I actually thought several days ago that I was going to agree with Herman Cain about something until his handlers made him suck that one back in.

  10. @Lafayette

You are right to do so on this issue. Too many people feel intimidated. Not me. Not you.

I don’t debate abortion either. I quit doing that about 25 years ago.

Well except for our knock down drag out…

Ah, I think you see my point. Now I could (and usually do) try to use a less inflamatory term, if I am actually interested in a sincere debate, or, I can use inflamatory language to bait someone. Pro-choice is not offensive to those who are “pro-choice”. However, using the more inflamatory “pro-abortion” while not really accurate, itMsnot completely inaccurate either. You want to know where Steve went? He’s here, ready to engage in a rational, respectful debate regarding just about everything of import. However, I would ask that those with whom I am debating at least try to use fact-based arguments, and try to “prove points, not score points”.

  13. @Cargosquid
I don’t believe I debated abortion. I just don’t. It is a personal decisions based on one’s religion, ethics, life circumstance. I believe I discussed your feeling about it and be might have debated whose decision it should be but never abortion from my point of view.

in the end, women will always have the ultimate decision, regardless of how unsafe.

  14. @Steve Thomas

What’s to prove here? I was taking a very peaceful nap.
The term Pro-choice should not be offensive to anyone. Why would anyone consider it offensive to say?

There is big showdown headed our way out of Mississippi. Now THAT offends me.

What I do not understand is why people who want government out of their business all of a sudden want it involved in personal aspects. That makes no sense to me.

I think it is fine for churches to speak to their congregations about moral behavior and what is expected. No problem here. (well, perhaps a wee one concerning birth control but that is a topic for another say.) Churches have every right to clearly establish what is correct and incorrect regarding moral behavior. They don’t have their right, however, with people not in their flock.

So is it you and I who are quarreling or someone else and if it is you and I, please refresh my memory. I feel certain we do not agree about Mr. Cain or Mr. Obama. That’s old news. I don’t think Mr. Cain was out shooting off the rockets. From what I could tell from my research, he was a civilian working for the navy. That’s ok. Thinking about it is making me want to do math problems that I have forgotten how to do. Regardless of what he did, it probably wasn’t a path to the presidency.

It isn’t too difficult to take a shot at me in the math department. While I have certain credentials in mathematics , I am not a major, like Herman Cain. Psych major with minor in classical studies. The physics is limited. The thing is, when you get to be my age, you don’t remember any of that crap anyway. Geometry yes. Calculus not so much.
