When places like Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, are represented, it at least shows me that the supporters aren’t aggies and we don’t have to worry about Rick Perry lurking in the background. I am rather pleased with that list. I wonder where Yale, Brown, Smith and Wellsey were.
Many of those people probably supported John McCain or at least respected him until he brought the deal breaker on board.

The wealth of the world is broken down….the wealth, taxation, spending and costs of the US is illustrated.
So, with Corey Stewart all but announcing his plans to run for Lt. Gov. in 2013 in the Washington Post, does anyone think it’s time NOW, not a year from now, for the Dems to find their candidate for the potential special election for chair, get solidly behind that candidate, and start preparing for battle? Or is it better for them to do the usual: wait til the last minute, give half-hearted support, then feign disappointment that the Republicans won again? Just askin’.
Blue Moon, I thought several years ago was the time for the Democrats to find an acceptable candidate to run. Apparently they aren’t checking in with me for a directive.
All snarkiness aside, I agree. Maybe we need to give them a nudge….those of us Independents who seem to be more vocal than the Dems. Email me if you have an idea.
Virginia Democrats suing to share power
GOP fights to keep tiebreaking vote

Democrats in Virginia’s Senate said Monday that they will file a lawsuit to determine whether the state’s Republican lieutenant governor has the privilege of casting tiebreaking votes on organizational matters — an authority crucial to GOP plans to exercise a majority in the evenly split chamber next year.
Senate Democratic Caucus Chairman A. Donald McEachin, Henrico Democrat, said Democrats are asking for “simple fairness.” In the wake of legislative elections this month that left Democrats and Republicans each with 20 members in the Senate, he is pushing for an equal number of Democrats and Republicans on each Senate committee.
@Moon-howler
Maybe someone should take Bruce Roemmelt into a basement at an undisclosed location, slap some sense into him, and tell him to get in gear. Think that might work?
I predict they will lose this fight, but I understand why they are waging it. With congressional redistricting to be decided this session, the stakes are very high.
Let’s see….what’s up in the news! Oh, the CBO has revised their estimation of Obama’s Stimulus Plan, they say it will now be a net drag on the economy! Awesome! And GAO says illegal immigrants caused over half of all border fires! Gotta love lefty policies!
Last week I posted a thread about the real villains being Victim 1’s high school. This article certainly validates my point. Principal and consellor (both women) refused to call the police or child services when the child was having an hysterical meltdown over Sandusky, who he says had inappropriate behavior with him for 2 years. The mother recently had to take the high school athlete out of school because of bullying and taunting from students, parents and staff.

I predict they will lose this fight, but I understand why they are waging it. With congressional redistricting to be decided this session, the stakes are very high.
Yes, they probably will lose, as the repugs do not respect the outcome of elections or the will of the people.
The entire issue is very sensitive and will not be solved by words. There has not been a post on it on purpose.
The decision is critical not only because congressional redistricting but it also decides what the face of Virginia will look like for a long time to come.
I am going to ask everyone to watch the name calling. Mom outsmarted me by changing the spelling of that word. However, I outsmarted him and put the correction in another trigger to swallow up the comment.
As I said, this will be decided in the courts, not on this blog. Obviously those with R leanings want to keep their new found victory and those with D leanings will want to go with equal committees.
“Yes, they probably will lose, as the repugs do not respect the outcome of elections or the will of the people”
Starry, you have outdone yourself. This is probably one of the most intellectually dishonest comments I have ever read from you. The only reason the Dems held the seats they did, was the borderline criminal way in which they redistricted the Senate. The Dems had to be dragged kicking and screaming into even proportional representation on Senate committees. Now they have lost their Senate majority, and are trying some longshot legal argument to try to thwart the GOP floor majority in adopting senate rules. It is the FORMER leadership of the Senate who has refused to acknowledge the election outcome.
Its going to be a blood bath. You thought pepper spray was bad. These Occupiers are going to die.

Some demonstrators are planning to occupy retailers on Black Friday to protest “the business that are in the pockets of Wall Street.”
They are going to place themselves between the bargain shoppers and the sales……
It’s too bad Pat Robertson isn’t in the Republican presidential race again this year. On today’s show, when Condoleeza Rice says her favorite Thanksgiving food is “mac and cheese,” Pat inquires “what is this ‘mac and cheese'” and “is it a black thing?” Pat could go toe to toe with some of the current Repub contenders in the wacky department.

[Ed. note: I removed some of Mom’s comments because they were over the top for a blog. I had not seen what the problem was and quickly took down the message until I could give it a closer look. Now I see the problem, I feel it is imperative to put up the major content of what he said. The topic regard Supervisor Wally Covington directing taxpayer money to a charity closed related to his wife. Pardon me, MoM for the delay. I needed to discuss this issue with Elena before republishing your post.]
Why am I so incensed, just stroll down to item 10B under Supervisor’s time and you find a real doozy. Now before I start going off on this half-pint, miserable excuse for a Supervisor, let me say the Rainbow Riding Center does wonderful things and this isn’t about them.
Back to item 10B, a donation of $100,000, yes thats 100 effing thousand dollars, from the 2012 Brentsville Magisterial District Funds to the Rainbow Therapeutic Equestrian Riding Center. Let’s see that 100 effing thousand dollars of taxpayer funds being sent to a facility that was built on public land, without hearings, permits or inspections and is run by an organization that his EFFING WIFE is the president of. Conflict, stupdity, arrogance, corruption, the list of appropriate possiblities is near endless. Needless to say none of this was even whispered prior to the election. I’m sure Jeanine would have used it to club Wally like a baby seal. Sorry if I’m going off on a bit of a rant but this is so effing typical of all of our board members (except May). That sawed off little runt better sit up straight on his phone books next time he wants to cut something from the budget like senior bus service to save some relatively paltry sum of funds because I’m going to take a print copy of his $100,000 resolution and deliver it through the out door without benefit of anesthesia.
Sorry, I really disapproved of what was done to Wally on Greg’s blog and I have to be consistent with my conscience. I don’t know the issue but I will be glad to discuss whatever it was he did without the use of body parts.
@Mom
I would do the same for Corey and Candland.
There is one question I ask myself when in doubt about what to do. WWGD. Ask NTK what it means. It has never served me wrong.
However, lets put it this way, now I know what it was about, its a good thing that I did the WWGD thing before I knew. This is outrageous. MoM has every right to be furious!
First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Second, sure, saying it out loud is political, but this business owner is saying out loud what most businesses are thinking, but wouldn’t say out loud. Putting politics before country? No, not even close. This guy is putting his business first, the country don’t enter into it. I told y’all that employment won’t bounce back in any real way until Obama and his administration and policies are long gone. And like I said…you don’t have to believe me….just sit back and watch!
Back at you, Marin. How are my favorite twins today? Are you going to give them each a turkey wing to chew on? yum yum. That ought to feel good on those little gums.
And does GE as a corporation make any contributions to the Republican party or candidates? There are many different divisions within GE.

I did not know that Randall Terry was running for president as a democrat. That has to be a misprint. How funny and sad.
The real moral vacuum is that so much money is spend on elections. It is simply obscene.

The Senate must reflect the outcome of the election. Legislators must respect the will of the people of our great state who placed them into office.

Hey Starry, we’ll take a vote on it…the Senate can vote on the idea of powersharing. That’s fair….
Oh…look…the GOP has the tie breaker……noooope. no powersharing for you.
Has anybody else been watching Sing Off? The finale is next Monday.

Some Republican just came out and blasted CBO. Not sure why. I bet he wishes he could take that back.

Wasn’t commenting on the subject, merely Starry’s choice of nouns.
And the original remark remained. However, on that word, location location location. MoM, you are still my favorite single-malt-drinking grouch.
Wait, are we having an outbreak? 😈
Not yet, just an outbreak of someone else who I just reported to comcast for other infringements.
Not outbreak yet.
Just checking. Potty humor just comes naturally to me, I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I have a natural talent for it.
I prefer sexual humor.
“I prefer sexual humor”
In that case would “Dem-Whore-Oids” be acceptable?
No but I smiled. I might laugh if you could come up with a comparable for Republicans.

As I recall, when he was gov of MA, everyone moved over into NH to get away from the income taxes and just commuted to work.
Happy Thanksgiving!! 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving!
Red dawn! Where have you been hiding?
