Spurred on by David Albo’s silly, tiresome anecdote about his wife cutting him off because of trans-vaginal probes attached to his name, influential Virginia woman have sprung into action and formed a new pac called the Women’s Strike Force. Enough is enough. Leslie Byrne is one of the founders.
From the Women’s Strike Force website:
The Women’s Strike Force is a Virginia PAC dedicated to recruiting and supporting all candidates opposing any elected official who supported the “personhood” or mandatory ultrasound legislation in the Virginia General Assembly.
All funds raised will be used to beat every Virginia Legislator who voted in favor of HB1 or HB462/SB484.
Donations may be made at www.womenstrikeforce.org
They take credit cards and pay pal.
The women strike back. May the force be with them.
Love the name!
It says exactly what it intends to do!
“The Empire strikes back. May the force be with them.”
Wait. Was the Empire the good guys or the bad guys? I forget.
YAY for PACs!
The Empire was/were the bad guys!
Women really do need to be prepared because HB1 is just on hold. If Sideshow Bob comes back, it will be resurrected and HB462 may take on its old form one of these days if the Republicans stay in charge. It all can be changed but people have to vote not just gripe. These guys are depending on all of this being forgotten by the next election cycle.
“The Empire was/were the bad guys!”
But the Empire was the republican government voted in by the People and then they ceded powers to the Emperor..
The Rebellion were a bunch of terrorist antagonizers………..
So, aren’t we cheering on the BAD guys?? 🙂
Back on topic. I really don’t think that the govt should be involved in matters of healthcare but our Constitution would only block the Federales from doing it; not the States.
I think I misspoke and started off a firestorm over the empire. I believe George is right. I haven’t watched Star Wars in 35 years.
He is right. The Empire were the bad guys in that they were the pinnacle of liberal fascism.
The TEA party symbolizes the Rebellion and bringing back the principles of our Constitution and a republican form of government………….
I think that makes Ron Paul Luke Skywalker…
Ok, I’ve geeked out enough!!! 🙂
@marin, worse than geek. fantasy land and Ron Paul is way too old.
The tea party is sort of confused.
It doesn’t take the average person that long to get into a gun cabinet that is locked.
Ok, he can be Obi Wan… He brings back the lost art of the Jedi (the cause of Liberty) and hands it off to the next generation so that we can be inspired by his sacrifice…
Wait. Maybe he’s Jesus!!
It sounds like ….well…never mind. He isn’t going to win. I promise you.
Now to go fix that empire remark I made.
I wonder how many single-issue voters are out there?
Define single issue voter. I won’t vote for anyone who isn’t pro choice as a rule. That isn’t an absolute of course. Show me someone who is anti choice and I can tell 100 other things about that candidate. Not all the things I can tell are necessarily related to reproductive issues. I am 95% accurate at least. There are exceptions. Senator Colgan comes to mind.
Reproductive issues are a good place to start with the filters.
Local issues in the county it isn’t as important. Until our supervisors decided to take a public stand on something happening in the City of Manassas, I never thought it would matter. It still didn’t matter. It was just enraging. They didn’t give a damn how their constituents felt. How could they even know. It never comes up. They just had to do their usual big assing. Screw the constituents.
