McDonnell calls out officers in riot gear to quell massive female uprising

What appeared to be a peaceful sit-in by women and older men was quickly quelled by police in riot gear at the State Capital on Saturday. The crowd was protesting invasive pre-abortion procedures soon to be mandated by the state.

31 arrests were made.  The protesters were carted off by McDonnell’s storm troopers.  The protestors were arrested for trespassing and unlawful assembly for being on the steps of the Capital.  It looks like McDonnell is hell bent on trampling  every component of the First Amendment, including free speech, right to assemble and right to redress grievances towards the government.

Bob McDonnell is going to insist on that ultra sound and if you don’t like it, he is going to shove it up your….trans-vaginal.

Planned Parenthood Services in the Old Dominion

Many folks have suggested that women just go to Planned Parenthood if they want birth control.  Let’s take a look and see what all is available.  It looks like there are 7 centers in Virginia.   They are located in the following cities:

Blacksburg

Charlottesville

Falls Church

Hampton

Richmond

Roanoke

Virginia Beach

All but one of those centers offers abortion services.  Hampton only offers a referral.  The thing that jumps out at the reader is that all centers are located in areas where there are colleges.  What also jumps out is there are no rural centers for women.   Some offer LGBT Services .  Some offer general health services.  All offer men’s services.   What do people do if they live in southwest Virginia or southside?  Danville and Emporia don’t have Planned Parenthood.  It appears that the closest center for most of southside is Roanoke or Virginia Beach.  If women don’t live near a population center, they are out of luck.   Pennsylvania has 41 centers.  Most do not offer abortion services.  North Dakota has no centers.  South Dakota has 2 centers and only one has abortion services.  There is a lot of land out in the midwest.

Cuccinelli burned over climate change lawsuit

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli failed to make his case and the Virginia Supreme Court rejected  his lawsuit  against former UVA climate change researcher Michael Mann.  Cuccinelli, sticking to the party line on climate change, no sooner got into office before he attempted to subpoena research records and communications between Mann and his research team while at UVA between 1999 and 2005.   UVA fought back.  Mann is now a professor and researcher at Penn State University.

According to the Washington Post:

The Virginia Supreme Court said Friday that Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II does not have the authorityto demand records related to a former University of Virginia climate researcher’s work.

In 2010, Cuccinelli (R), a global warming skeptic, issued a civil investigative demand, essentially a subpoena, for documents from the state’s flagship university.

He sought five grant applications prepared by former professor Michael Mann and all e-mails between Mann and his research assistants, secretaries and 39 other scientists from across the country.

But a judge dismissed the subpoena. Cuccinelli then filed a new, more specific demand pertaining to just one $214,700 state grant, but he also appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court.

Andy Schmookler on Global Warming

The August Free  Press:

Is global warming a real reason for concern? Sixth District Democratic congressional candidate Andy Schmookler doesn’t pretend to be an expert in climate science. He is smart enough to look at what those who are have to say.

“There are people who have been told that the way science works is that we have essentially a conspiracy of scientists from all over the world who are drumming up this hoax in order to frighten people so that they can get more research grants. That isn’t the world as it operates,” Schmookler said.

Bob McDonnell, VP (That’s Vaginal Probe, not Vice President)

According to pundits like Larry Sabato, McDonnell has pretty much cratered any chances of obtaining the Vice Presidential nomination.  Others agree.  Stick a fork in him, he’s done.  The stupid part is, he knew better and his advisors knew better than to sign the bill he is about to sign.

Being the anti-birth control party is really not the way to win elections.  The Blunt Amendment was defeated in the Senate today.  The Democratic controlled Senate didn’t have to allow the bill to come to a vote, but…why not let folks shoot themselves in the foot if that is what they want to do.

Krystal Ball says it all about Rush

From MSNBC:

Limbaugh, who called Fluke a “slut” during his Wednesday radio show, doubled down on his comments on Thursday.

So, Miss Fluke and the rest of you feminazis. Here’s the deal. If we’re going to pay for your contraceptives and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch,” Limbaugh said.

Bashir reread what he called Limbaugh’s ludicrous thoughts and asked his panel to comment. Democratic strategist Krystal Ball called Limbaugh “despicable,” “disgusting,” and a “loathsome individual.”

MSNBC contributor Jonathan Capehart also weighed in and called Limbaugh’s comments deplorable. “I’m troubled and saddened about the coarsening of political discourse,” Capehart said. “There’s a way to talk about these things without being hateful…rude or derogatory about people…For him to go down this low road…it’s low even for him.”
