McDonnell (R), who had repeatedly resisted involving himself in the escalating troubles at the state’s flagship university, sent a stern three-page letter to the Board of Visitors late Friday, nearly two weeks after the ouster of President Teresa Sullivan.

The board has called a special meeting Tuesday to discuss whether to reinstate Sullivan. But McDonnell said if the 15 voting board members cannot make a decision at that meeting, he will ask all of them to resign. If they refuse, he will remove them for cause, a power granted to him by state law but rarely used.

“Let me be absolutely clear: I want final action by the board on Tuesday,’’ he wrote. “If you fail to do so, I will ask for the resignation of the entire board on Wednesday. Regardless of your decision, I expect you to make a clear, detailed and unified statement on the future leadership of the university.”

So, they come to an agreement or he fires the Board of Visitors and replaces them all. Let’s see who blinks. It’s about time he settled things down, rather than going off to Park City, Utah to the huge Romney fund-raiser. He needed to have reinstated Dr. Sullivan. That would have been his safest move. Why? Everyone liked her.

Penn State:

In other news, pedophile Jerry Sandusky, formerly of Penn State has been convicted of 45 of 48 charges involving pedopilia. He will not see the light of day and will go to jail for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, his charity he helped found has closed, Joe Paterno is dead, 2-3 others have lost their jobs, and there are many many victims in his wake. Even one of Sandusky’s adopted kids came forward at the last minute and confessed that he was also abused. Mrs. Sandusky has so far stood by her man. Who knows what she is really thinking.

“Rally For Honor” Sunday On The Lawn

A Facebook group of 14,000 friends of the University will hold a Rally for Honor on the Lawn. The group is demanding the reinstatement of President Sullivan, the resignation of Rector Dragas, and representation by UVA faculty as voting members on the Board of Visitors. Members of the faculty senate, current professors and UVA student leaders are scheduled to speak. The rally will be held Sunday, June 24 at 2 p.m.

Cindy, thank you for spreading the word. I have not talked to one person yet who does not support Terry Sullivan. She has a superior reputation and is respected and liked by faculty, students, and employees. It doesn’t get much better than that!

I think she will be reinstated and Dragas will go the way of the fools. I hope Dragas learned a valuable lesson.
