The Olympic Pagent was grand, glorious, and very Brit!  It appeared that no expense was spared.  I only cried twice.  Once over the queen and her corgis and then again when Paul McCarthy’s voice wavered as he began Hey Jude.  You could tell he was overpowered by emotion has his voice got more and more cockney accented.

What did you like?  Everyone has to have a favorite part?  I wonder if  person can buy the opening show?  I felt somewhat overpowered by all the people and the production.  I have never done well with pagentry.

Anywho….your impressions please?  Also, what is your favorite event?

  1. I HATE Mr. Bean. HATE HATE HATE

I love Glastonbury Tor. It played a big part in the Mists of Avalon. sigh. I love Brit Lit.

Rowan Atkinson is awesome. Totally AWESOME. He’s NOT anything like Mr. Bean.

I loved the whole thing. Haven’t watched an opening ceremonies I didn’t like. Oh, and while I’m thinking about it…..Voula Papachristou is so fine, THAT girl can make fun of anyone she wants!

    1. Do you think the Olympic committee went overboard? @ pokie

Do you think the Olympic committee went overboard? @ pokie

I have a hard time keeping my drool in my mouth with Papachristou, let alone being able to make a rational decision about that!

I think throwing her out was overboard. How about a stern warning about using good taste while representing the Olympics.

Different people from different countries don’t all have the same standards for politically correct. I am not even sure who she was taking a swipe at.

In UK, different slurs mean different things to people there than people there. I have checked it all out actually, a long time ago.

  6. Go Team USA!

Ryan Lochte: ‘I’m in kind of a shock’
Lochte wins the gold in the 400 meter individual. First gold of many to come.

  7. So far, the sportsmanship award goes to none other than Queen Elizabeth who really is just getting better and better with age. She really is a monarch of the people rather than the stand –offish stuffy woman of my childhood. I think those young grandsons have done her wonders!

She really is a national treasure and she came off like a rock star!

I couldn’t imagine her doing that James Bond stuff 30 years ago when she seemed all about propriety. My gkids and kids don’t understand why she makes me tear up. Not sure I do either but she really is a remarkable woman.
