I always cooked corn in the microwave, in the husk,   but I have never cut it off at the bottom and just shaken it out.

This is our let’s not fight over corn thread.

I’ll be dipped in doo-doo. That’s genius. I gotta try that.

I saw this a week or two ago and tried it and it really worked for me. It is sometimes a bit hard to shake the corn out of the husk, particularly when it is hot right out of the microwave, but it eventually does come out, sans a speck of the silk. Cool!

    1. So it really does shake out? I have cooked in the husk for about 10 years but I always just peeled it off and used paper towels to get the extra silk off. This looks a lot easier.

How do you do it if the tassel tops aren’t on there…you know, if the ears have been grocery store readied?

      Thanks for your input, Watchful.

you just hold it at the highest point, whatever that is. Just make sure to cut enough off the bottom so that opening is large enough to have the widest part of the cob slip through. The first time I did it, I didn’t cut it off high enough so kind of had to pry it out by peeling back the husk from the bottom upward until it could slip out on its own.

    1. Thanks, Watchful. I will try it next time we have corn.
