Showtime’s “Homeland” wins the Outstanding Drama Series at the Emmies
“Homeland” took home the Outstanding Drama Series Emmy at the 2012 Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awards in Los Angeles Sunday night. The cerebral Showtime drama beat out four-time winner “Mad Men,” as well as its network companion “Breaking Bad,” PBS’ “Downton Abbey,” and HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire” and “Game of Thrones.”
Cheer! Roar!! Encore!!!
Has anyone ever seen this show? What’s it about? Is it just me and you all haven’t told me about “Homeland?” I freely admit I am humorless and don’t like comedy. Is that it? Its a comedy? I love Boardwalk and Downton Abby. Mad Men is fun. I loved Newsroom which wasn’t even in the running.
Help is on the way. Showtimeanytime.com is Showtime’s version of portable movies if you subscribe on your TV. It is the Showtime equivalent of HBOgo.com. You can catch up and watch it on your smartphone or ipad during lunch. I am going to have to do this.
Has anyone watched it? If it is up there with Downton Abbey and Boardwalk Empire, I needed to know about it before this.
Pssst! its a spook show and deals with CIA operatives.
The award for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series went again, for the 10th year to Jon Stewart, who played the quintessential horse’s ass, yet again:
