Akin claims that abortions are given to women who aren’t pregnant. Isn’t that impossible?
According to the Huffingtonpost:
“It is no big surprise that we fight the terrorists because they are fundamentally un-American, and yet we have terrorists in our own culture called abortionists. One of the good pieces of news why we are winning this war is because there are not enough heartless doctors being graduated from medical schools. There is a real shortage of abortionists. Who wants to be at the very bottom of the food chain of medical profession? And what sort of places do these bottom-of-the-food-chain doctors work in? Places that are really a pit. You find that along with the culture of death go all kinds of other law-breaking: not following good sanitary procedure, giving abortions to women who are not actually pregnant, cheating on taxes, all these kinds of things, misuse of anesthetics so that people die or almost die.”
To think….this guy could end up as a U.S. Senator. Plenty of people have objections to abortion especially if the procedure is performed later into pregnancy. However, if someone isn’t pregnant it isn’t possible, by definition, to perform an abortion.
Akin talks about bottom feeding doctors. How about bottom feeding politicians? He certainly would qualify.
“It is no big surprise that we fight the terrorists because they are fundamentally un-American”
Does that mean he wants to fight everyone in the world who is “fundamentally un-American?” That’s quite a lot of people, most of whom are not actually posing a security threat to us. How big does he think the military needs to be to accomplish this?
I wish the Republicans could have figured a way to replace Akin on the ticket. That’s a Senate seat we were almost certainly going to win, and now almost certainly will lose. President Romney will need strong support in Congress to replace Obamacare with something better, and to get the budget under control. People like Akin are not helping.
@NTK
Are you going to feel foolish and ridiculous if your candidate doesn’t win? That’s why its probably a good idea not to go out on a limb. Eventually the votes will be counted.
I have no idea who will win. Bad Karma to even speculate.
I won’t even use a bumperstick nowadays.
He is the one who is fundmentally un-Americn. He just called every single person who is pro-choice a terrorist. How can someone this mentally confused have any possibility of being elected to craft policy?
Well, folks, if it’s impossible to impregnate an unwilling rape victim
it’s probably also possible to abort a fetus who isn’t there.
Ain’t democracy wunnerful?
@Elena
What ever gave you that idea that ANY politician is smart as a general rule? Clinton is considered a genius because he’s the EXCEPTION.
@punchak
Excellent point, Punchak, bwaaaahahahahahahaha
Only in Akinville.
@Cargosquid
Who mentioned smart? I believe she was referring to
sanity.
@Moon-howler
Moon, I can be optimistic if I want. If I’m wrong, which I admit is possible, I’ll congratulate the winners and hope everyone can work together for the nation’s best interests.
Of course you can be obnoxious…err…optomistic if you want. Its pretty offensive to the other folks so expect them to say stuff back however.
@Moon-howler
Also, I figure plenty of Democrats are out there being optimistic from their perspective and predicting an Obama reelection. The bad karma on each side cancels the other out.
@Moon-howler
Now, now, we mustn’t call names. The blog is better and more interesting because you attract so many people who disagree. That makes for a more fun discussion than the blogs where everyone is just agreeing with each other.
And, I like when people challenge me. It allows me to refine my arguments and positions, and come back stronger next time.
@Moon-howler
And, you didn’t give me credit for essentially agreeing with you that Akin is a numbskull.
@Need to Know
Who called a name? I described a behavior.
I would hope everyone who believed in science and rational thought would think Akin is a numbskull. That sad thing is, I think he thinks he can justify his behavior.
