27 Thoughts to “The 3rd Great debate”

  1. SlowpokeRodriguez

Nice to see the “moderator” debating Romney. Somebody had to help Obama out.

  2. SlowpokeRodriguez

Good answer! What’s Obama’s plan to curb AK-47s in America? Give them to Mexican cartels!

  3. Emma

I can’t believe how Candy Bedhead helped explain Obama’s position. UFB.

  4. SlowpokeRodriguez

Well, I’ll say this, Obama wasn’t asleep this time! Democrats HAVE to be happier with his performance tonight.

  5. Emma

That woman who started clapping should have been ejected, as per Candy’s own rules.

  6. SlowpokeRodriguez

Can I get a Starryflight’s “Obama kicked Romney’s butt tonight!!”:)

  7. SlowpokeRodriguez

Oh, and for anyone who actually looks at the transcript from the Rose Garden, Obama just lied to the American people on national television, and “Candy” helped him lie.

    1. Pulling that pretend fact from where, Slowpoke?

  8. punchak

Well, well, well = Slow and Emma, guess you’ll have trouble sleeping tonight.
Debate didn’t go too well for Mitt, did it? Just blame it on Candy. She was GREAT.

  9. Emma

Why would I have trouble sleeping over this debate?@punchak

  10. SlowpokeRodriguez

    Yeah, I slept just fine!

Obama’s Mouth (Teleprompter), where most pretend facts come from.

I feel so much better now that I know the economy has been doing just fine over the last 4 years. Why, the country is doing so well that I hope nothing changes for the next 4 years. Unfortunately the source of that information came from none other than Obama last night. If the last 4 years has been so great, then why oh why is everyone complaining? The entire thing was a continuous string of every political ad I’ve seen over the last 6 months. Nothing new to see here folks, move along.

Romney impressed me. He made rational arguments and he did convince me that despite being a great vascillator that he actually does have core beliefs (lowering burden in small business). He stuck to issue and projected well.

Obama disappointed me. As with Bush in 2004, he had no real arguements or agenda and it’s pretty obvious he’s given up trying on most issues. Much of his time was devoted to personal attacks and reminiscing about four years ago. I’ve been leaning towards Obama but watching him unable to articulate any substantive agenda makes me wonder if I should bother to vote for him.

  14. Starryflights

Romney does not believe that women should get equal pay as men. That is terrible. Those who believe that should vote for Romney.

  15. @Starryflights
Hmmm…maybe you’d better email the White House. Reports show that women, there, on the administration’s staff, are in the same predicament.

Also, please provide evidence other than a drive-by statement.

  16. Starryflights

Secondly, a UMass-Boston study found that the percentage of
senior-level appointed positions held by women actually declined
throughout the Romney administration, from 30.0% prior to his taking
office, to 29.7% in July 2004, to 27.6% near the end of his term in
November 2006. (It then began rapidly rising when Deval Patrick took
    office.)>

Initially, it did not seem that the Romney campaign cared to answer. But that changed this morning when Huffington Post journalist Sam Stein asked during a conference call whether Romney supports the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, the first bill signed into law by President Obama. The Romney aide’s answer: “Sam, we’ll get back to you on that.”

It is concerning, to say the least, that Romney’s campaign could not provide a simple yes or no answer for whether Romney supports Lilly Ledbetter—a straightforward law that was designed to make challenging unequal pay easier for women. How can a campaign that is currently trying to flip the “war on women” conversation and encouraging voters to focus on Romney and Obama’s economic policies affecting women, rather than social policies, not have a stock response for Stein’s query? Isn’t equal pay an economic issue? On Tuesday, the Romney campaign claimed that “one million women have lost their jobs under this administration, nearly one million have become unemployed as a result of Obama’s policies” and accused the Obama administration of having “set women in the workplace back 20 years.” And on Wednesday it wasn’t sure whether Romney supports pay equity.

Those who support equal pay for women should not vote for Mitt Romney or any Republican next month, because they believe discriminating against women is okay.

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obamas-female-debate-coach-complained-about-hostile-workplace-white-house_654745.html

Anita Dunn, worked at the White House, this is what she reportedly had to say about her experience there:

“This place would be in court for a hostile workplace. … Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.”

In the same piece, former economic adviser Christina Romer is reported as saying, “I felt like a piece of meat.”

    1. I am going to bite. First off, The right needs to come together on what they are attributing to Anita Dunn. Glenn Beck accuses her of being the female satan.

On the other hand, with the above quote, which I think might have come from the Ron Suskind book about “confidence men.” That makes sense. At no point was Barack Obama accused of making the women feel like pieces of meat. He has always been cited as being very respectful. However, he isn’t always around. Rom Emanual was around in those days. He made everyone feel like a piece of meat from what I have determined.

I think thats what happens when you get a set of alpha males and alpha females in the same pond.

It seems ridiculous to give either candidate a “win” on last night’s debate. The questions were all selected by the moderator, so the “town hall” format was totally bogus. The moderator did everything possible to hand Obama lifelines. Romney flubbed big time on Benghazi. He seemed too excited about the topic that he didn’t think through his response well enough. Obama never actually bothered to answer the questions that were asked. The media is giving Obama the “win” based on his renewed energy level and Romney’s flubs, but no one is giving him any props for substance. I’m betting that Monday’s foreign policy debate will be the one that nudges the polls.

    1. No one has given us the benchmarks yet. I think it is really all about who you like the most in the first place. If you hate them then that too.
