The third and final presidential debate is tonight. Foreign policy is the focus and each candidate will have 2 minutes to answer.
President Obama should have the strength here but who knows. I am not a betting woman.
How many different election cycles, in recent memory, have been close in popular vote? The polls have both candidates neck and neck…something like each having 48% of the likely vote.
What would happen if there were an electoral college tie?
Did the Iranians drop an October surprise and were they attempting to manipulate the election?
Meanwhile, we will never agree on winners and losers. Its obvious that the one who wins is the one we personally like the most.
Yawn! I am so tired of this election. We get this one over and the state cranks up. Moan! Groan!! More fools.
Here’s hoping that seasoned old Bob Shieffer will be able
to rein in these two “young” bulls. He has been around, but
this, I believe, will really test his abilities.
Obama will win tonight’s debate hands down. Not because he is Presidential, not because his policies have been effective, and not because he has ever accepted any responsbilitiy for anything, but because he has an inate ability to throw people under the bus, from diplomates to intellegnece analysts to otherwise loyal staffers and civil servants — and come out of it smiling. No matter what Romeny says, no matter the subject, this Presdient has the unique ability to lie about it and get away with it – and Shaffer, the moderator, will do a Candy Crowley before it is all over. We are not safer or better off due to this President’s approach to Foreign policy.
The problem for Romney is to not come off like a barking dog expecting Obama to be honest. Rather, I will be looking for Romney to sandbag Obama, be pleasent and let the press have to deal with the facts. MSNBC and CNN are pretty much out of it now, credibility ruined, so its more about presentation via the main media.
I guess it takes one to know one. DTRT!
I am curious why MSNBC went under the bus.
This is beginning to get interesting. The national polls really don’t matter much at this point. It’s just those handful of swing states.
It would be nice if Obama could spend a little less time telling us what Romney thinks and a little more time telling us what he thinks.
Well, you know what Obama thinks…..exactly what he has laid out……nothing.
You are my hero.
Interesting debate.
They both have basically the same foreign policy!
There was a debate?
Why?
Are there that many “undecideds” that haven’t figured out the respective positions and qualities of each candidate?
And in a nod to Marin, where was the Libertarian Candidate?
I’ve said it before….Obama’s had some foreign policy successes. Drones? Absolutely! No involvement in Syria? 10-4! Out of Iraq? Yep! I don’t know if there are really huge differences to be exploited between the candidates on foreign policy. Thing is…..foreign policy isn’t terribly important when things on the homefront are suffering so badly.
Other than what happens abroad very much can influence what happens at home. 2 wars didnt help our economy. 9-11 didnt help our economy. Spending billions of counter terrorism doesn’t help the economy.
I think foreign policy is critical.
Romney came out of this looking weak and timid, while Obama looks and acts like the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. Romney is too weak and puny to be our nation’s commander in chief.
i was glad to see Moderate Mitt. If I end up with him, I would rather not deal with bad Mitt.
