In this bizarro world…
It is acceptable to shout out at the President of the United States, “You LIE!”
In this bizarro world….
Its ok to point your finger in the face of the President of the United States and givre him the business.
In this bizarro world…
You can address the President of the United States as if he were your underling.
In this bizarro world…
Its OK for the opposition to look down his nose at the President of the United States and accuse him of lying.
In this bizarro world…
Its OK for a Supreme Court Justice to mouth the words “not true” at the President of the United States during the State of the Union Address.
In this bizarro world…
Its OK to accuse the President of the United States of being a socialist and like Hitler.
How shameful. These are not MY values and I hope they are not yours.
How things should be:
FOR ALL THE HATEFUL AMERICANS THAT HAVE FORGOTTEN THIS MAN IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES…OR HAVE NEVER BEEN TAUGHT WHAT THAT MEANS….
I have faux and friends on. The lies pouring out of their mouths are almost unbelievable.
Unless I am getting tone deaf to dirtbags, it seems to me that the gang who couldn’t shoot straight is trying to katrina-ize the clean up after Sandy.
Boo effen hoo. Janet Napolitano didn’t go on every street in Staten Island. I guess we can take away her “Good job Brownie” points.
The Faux Enemies are still reporting no electricity on Staten Island. I spoke with someone yesterday there who said they had gotten it Friday morning although not everyone has.
Turn it off. Opposition is good for the mind – but it has to be on SOME intellectual level. Fox & Friends is focused at a third grade reading level and in competition with Star Magazine so stop insulting yourself. F&F is simply the worst of Fox.
Yesterday an acquaintance mentioned their buddy who lives in the lower end of Manhatten in a basement flat was without pwer and still bailing water….my friend living just south of Asbury Park was in tears over the devastation. They need our help not criticism.
@Lyssa
I check in on Sat. to see what the latest object of national hate is. It didnt last long.
I think Hannity is the worst of Faux News.
Faux and friends were criticizing what the Red Cross and govt werent doing.
I shut the sound off after an hour.
In my world it is not acceptable for the President to lie to the people.
In my world it is not acceptable for the President to fail at his one real job of protecting the American People from foreign invaders.
In my world it is not acceptable for a president to have the ability and experience of an underling.
It’s still not acceptable for the President to lie to the people.
It’s STILL not acceptable for the President to lie to the people, even if it is about the Supreme Court.
It’s not OK for the President to be a Socialist.
And I already knew that is different from the left’s world
Perhaps you should consider relocating. How about Nicaragua?
….and it is pretty obvious from the suffering going on that President Obama has failed worse than Bush. Of course, Bush didn’t fail during Katrina. The warnings were there and people chose to stay and suffer. The people of New Orleans elected a whiny little girl like Ray Nagin, and unfortunately, elections have consequences. You elect Bloomberg? You stick around when everybody told you you’ll be destroyed? Guess what happens!!
Have you any first hand information?
On the upside both President Obama or a President Romney could simply put any of us on a kill list and remove any opposition he wants. At any time. For whatever reason.
Legally.
That is utter and complete nonsense. re Romney and Obama.
Watch Christie (NJ) and how he is handling things. Restrictions on insurance Companies to raise deductibles, gas rationing….hhis sole focus and objective is to take care of NJ. I think he ignored Eric Cantor last year regarding federal disaster aid – hope Cantor stays quiet now.
Watch Christie…..regardless of his politics its clear what his core beliefs and convictions are when push comes to shove.
He is doing what the people of NJ elected him to do which was to take care of NJ. He is to be commended for not playing cry baby politics which I have listened to all morning on Faux and Friends until I couldn’t stand it any longer.
What would facts and first-hand information matter to a liberal?
@Lyssa
And look at the leftist bullcrap Christie has to put up with:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/non-union-ala-utility-crews-returns-home-before-getting-chance-to-help-restore-power-in-nj/2012/11/02/e9f4ccea-252e-11e2-92f8-7f9c4daf276a_story.html
Good grief you are one angry person which explains the reactionary, repetitive and rhetorical dull response to everything. No point in engaging –
Slow,
Stop it already, George Bush the second ISN’T in office anymore, its time to let that resentment go!
Tell that to Obama and the Democrats!!
Translation: You’re clearly right and I don’t have a leg to stand on.
THAT is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo going on my Facebook!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
As the door begins to close on their Jimmy Carter reincarnation, the left is having a harder and harder time hiding their open hypocrisy.
This will help explain everything : http://www.staged.com/video?v=C0wc
I hear ya but I think its more of cognitive dissonance.
Did you see the video I put up about Obama supporters being confronted with his foreign policy? Snort out your nose funny.
I mean the same could be said about Romney supports as FP is about a 90% match with these chuckleheads but people still think there is a difference in the candidates. 😉
To discerning people, there is a huge difference. It isn’t about the person, its about what gets ushered in. But you knew that.
Slow,
I am taking a new tact, to simply treat your comments like the joke that they are. I like you as a person, but your simplistic view of Obama is unworthy of real debate.
Now that the nation is even more divided I can’t wait for this pain to subside. What acts of desperation will take place when there isn’t another term to be had? That is what scares me most if Obama wins!
Well, I think the attitude from the left was best summed up by Bill Maher last night when he said that “black people will be coming after Romney supporters”. Always classy!!
I think when people on both sides of the aisle say, “I’m voting for the lesser of two evils.” and you hear that.. a lot.
I think the idea that there is a huge difference isn’t quite accurate.
@SlowpokeRodriguez
Leftist bullcrap- How can this even be discussed when you lead in with ‘leftist bullcrap’?
Knock off with the labels. Lets discuss the freaking issue. Your attitude is offputting and obnoxious. Your attitude makes you sound like an angry old man and pretty much destroys any exchange of ideas.
There are obviously 2 sides to this story. perhaps 3 since the press is involved.
Could it be that the language wasn’t something the folks in Decatur Alabama understood? I am not used to union verbage so there is much I don’t understand when I read union conditions. Perhaps that happened.
That union said that their only requirement is that the guest workers be paid at those wages.
Well, in an emergency, where life and limb is in danger, they need to dispense with the rules. I understand why those rules are in place…but this time maybe it would have been wise to have not dusted off the rule book. Take what help you can get and be gracious. For all they know, those power workers might have been on their own time. Then who pays?
@marinm
I didnt vote for the lesser of 2 evils. I voted for the candidate who best represents my values and needs. I know many people who feel that way.
I would just stay home if it was the lesser of 2 evils. I dont vote for evil.
@SlowpokeRodriguez
I didnt realize you watched Bill Maher. Oh silly me, I bet you picked that up off some ….some right wing hissy mag.
@Moon-howler
The owner of that power company stated that his people made it to Virginia where they were presented with contracts that said that they had to join the union in order to work.
Cargo, read the entire article. There were 2 sides given. You don’t know who is doing the talking.
You believe the side that agrees with your political opinion. The owner of the power company wasn’t there first hand. I bet he is going on what he was told by someone who talked to the crew boss, even if there are that few people involved. Ever play grape vine?
I believe they turned back because they were told that the area had all the help they needed.
I said it sounded to me like there was a misunderstanding in the first place. That was purely an opinion.
When my grandmother died in NJ many years ago, the grave diggers were on strike and it wad during Holy Week. I understandthat local unions can be pitas. I still don’t understand union language. I understand that getting something done is like moving an immovable object.
WAshington Post:
You know, this sounds like a story where someone wants to make some political gain. Its a non-story. There was a misunderstanding by at least 1 someone who wanted to make an issue out of nothing at all. Maybe 2 someones.
For the record, I would not willingly live in a closed shop state.
It is acceptable to shout out at the President of the United States, “You LIE!”
Well, since he WAS lying…..
Its ok to point your finger in the face of the President of the United States and givre him the business. Where is it not rude for the guest of a governor to preemptively treat that governor rudely?
In what way did that letter address the President as an underling?
Dear Mr. President:
Since you personally provided this directive, I have a series of additional questions that I am confident you can answer in advance of the conclusion of any formal investigation.
I find it implausible that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Commander of U.S. Africa Command, and the Commander of U.S. European Command would have ignored a direct order from the Commander in Chief. Therefore, could you please clarify:
Thank you for your prompt attention to these matters. Members of the Committee on Armed Services are keenly concerned that any breakdown in communication that may have occurred not be repeated. Given your stated interest in transparency and sharing all relevant information with the American people and the families of our fallen, I am hopeful you can promptly address these questions.
Respectfully,
__________________________________
Since it IS implausible that order would not be carried out…. we need to find out where the breakdown in communication lies. Because the President did order that. He said so. And so, the Committee is requesting clarification to discover those subordinates that failed to carry out those orders.
Where is this letter disrespectful? Or do you consider any questioning of the President to be “disrespectful?”
Its OK for the opposition to look down his nose at the President of the United States and accuse him of lying. Well, because he was, has, and is. And its demonstrable.
Its OK for a Supreme Court Justice to mouth the words “not true” at the President of the United States during the State of the Union Address. Where is it OK for the President to bad mouth and lie about the Supreme Court Justices during a speech.
Its OK to accuse the President of the United States of being a socialist and like Hitler.
Well, the socialist part is true. He believes in many progressive and socialist ideals and has belonged to socialist parties. The Hitler part, I agree with you.
Yo
You and I have very different values about behavior. The President of the United States is to be treated with the appropriate protocol regardless of who he is. (no she yet). I have never forgiven Sen. Webb for embarrassing me during the Bush years. He refused to shake his hand. That was low class. He embarrassed me as a Virginian.
I am not going to argue the points with you. I simply believe you are wrong across the board.
@SlowpokeRodriguez
It must be hard being you. Try the opposite!
I just heard an ad on the radio by a man named Robert Gray that credits Romney with finding his missing 14-year-old daughter in New York City. Apparently Romney shut down Bain capital and established a command center of Bain partners and employees in NY to search 24/7 for the girl. The search was highly publicized and someone responded with an anonymous call that identified her location. She was found shortly thereafter by the police.
The thing that I like about this ad is that it demonstrates Romney’s accomplishment and can-do attitude. It shows that he is a man of action. Obama is not even mentioned.
It also serves as a contrast with an Administration that did not take any particular extraordinary action to save the lives of American embassy personnel during the attack in Benghazi.
kelly, you weren’t there. You are getting all your feed from the spin doctors. It isn’t like on a movie set. I am very tired of this one being whipped up. We are just going to have to disagree.
first off, I am going to just admit I wasn’t there. i can promise you though, not all the information has been released. There is one thing about living in Manassas….when you are told state dept or dept of army, it almost always means something else.
You know darn well that not all is being said because of classified information.
Notice I haven’t brought up the 12 or so terrorist attacks on embassies under George Bush. Why? He didn’t do it. Were lives lost, yes.
The embassy political fodder is just trash.
That example brings a new dimension to comparing apples to oranges.
@SlowpokeRodriguez
The federal response to Katrina was a national disgrace. You have to be drinking the good Kool Aid to think that the federal response to Sandy has been worse. Sometimes I just can’t believe the blather.
Any clue what’s happening in NYC?
I couldn’t take being wrong all the time.
I apologize, I was on my mobile and I hadn’t noticed the moniker before asking that last question. Anyway, FEMA has run out of water, people are looting and roaming the streets with baseball bats, shotguns, etc….and Obama is here campaigning. You expect anyone to believe what you’re saying?
Well, tell us what is going on as you see it.
McDonnell/Christie – high praise for federal response
70% of power on in lower Manhattan
Generators being trucked in to power gas stations -Hess Corp had provided generators prior to the storm-
80% of subway back up and working
Port taxes,registration lifted to make it easier for tankers
Jones Act suspended
Bush looked at NO from an airplane…..
Michael Brown was a bud of Bush – how he got the job – zero disaster experience. Fugate was named during Obamas first term – interestingly enought Fugate came from the Florida Dept of Emergency Mgmt – he had been appointed by Jeb Bush.
A difference between Katrina and Sandy was the level of preparedness by FEMA. Big change – better qualified director better results. It’s not Obama and it wasn’t Bush it’s FEMA. And they’re still funded despite Eric Cantor. Thank goodness. I have family and friends throughout the Northeast coadt that have been impacted. One friend has completely lost their home and most of their property.
So tell us what’s going on.
Thank you for those facts, Lyssa. Operative word, FACTS
Sent you a photo of our friends place. They had a front lawn, they had a six foot sea wall….
This is real to some of us Slowpoke.
Did you send it to me? I will post it. Please send to my private address, Lyssa.
Got it. Please advise. I will post it with your permission, Lyssa.
@Moon-howler
There were apparently sizable military assets that could have been brought to bear within a couple of hours. Either there was a break down in coordination between the CIA and military or the decision maker in charge chose not to respond. Which is it? It is almost certainly not classified to give a high-level explanation that does not go into specific details.
And it is pure horse manure to state that if one was not there, he cannot critique what happened. The military is usually ready to respond when forces are deployed in unstable regions. When the military says it was ready to respond but was asked not to, the onus is on the Administration and State Department to explain the rationale for the decision.
If one doesn’t have all the facts then it is certainly not manure. If you werent there then you have a hell of a nerve commenting on gossip and remakes of a situation. Right now it is like vacuuming a room in the dark.
The fact that the House committee outted the CIA is a breach of security. Those house committee meetings stopped faster than greased lightning as a matter of fact. The fact that we are even discussing the CIA shows security breach.
the world is a dangerous place. Libya is no different. Situations can change on a dime.
The real question Americans should be asking is what possible motive would President Obama have to cover up anything. They got attacked. I am not even sure I would classify it as a terrorist attack. Its that howitzer rolling up to the front of the building….
This one is so transparent and I should have picked up on it sooner when some of our blog strong men stood us down over the video that had pissed off so many men on the street. I should have seen what was coming. I dropped the ball. Right wing reconstruction (aka the I HATE Obama club)had already left its calling card.
This is a silly, artificial political attack. We should be concentrating on real concerns, not political bullshit.
So….it’s your FRIEND’S place, but it’s real to you. I shouldn’t be surprised, y’all think Obama actually pulled the trigger on Osama bin Laden.
Slowpoke, time to just STFU. I am tired of you harassing and mimicking people on this blog.
I have seen the picture. It speaks 1000 words.
Had to jump in and help? That’s probably for the best…..She wasn’t doing too good making points.
@SlowpokeRodriguez
Very odd leap. What is your point? Hurricane Sandy and bin Laden? Maybe you are in that group that believes Hurricanes are liberal plots? Hurricane Issac and the Republican convention, now Sandy gives Obama free press?
Reality has a well known liberal bias.
BTW, I read the FULL story too, it WAS total BS that the crews that came to assist these poor people had to consent to Union affiliation as a condition to help. They weren’t turned away, but they couldn’t ASSIST without consenting to union affiliation. We’re not all stupid out here.
Make no mistake, I’m VERY comfortable with the press Obama’s getting over the Sandy response right now! I wouldn’t change a thing!
@SlowpokeRodriguez
Any suggestions for President Obama? Walking the streets with his security unit?
Who supplies FEMA with water? What would you have the President do?
What would YOU do?
@Lyssa
Another difference is the size of the disaster. The area affected by Katrina was much large and much worse. Much of the staged supplies inland were destroyed. The local gov’t’s such as Gov Blanco of Louisiana refused to cooperate.
FEMA may not have been at its best, but there were some mitigating circumstances.
If I was FEMA, I wouldn’t have waited until this past Friday to make ask for bids from water suppliers. If I were President (BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!) I wouldn’t make a photo stop in the area. I would contact the governors and ask what I can do to help. Bush was right to NOT fly into New Orleans. His presence would have halted incoming aircraft and supplies.
Oops, sorry, some of the above was in answer to Punchaks’s questions to Slow.
In regards to Benghazi…the White House Admin is leaking secrets.
http://freebeacon.com/post/34851744561/gop-senators-to-white-house-stop-leaking-national
Agree, the locals are the key- FEMA is the liaison between locals and Feds. So you agree Pres Obama shouldn’t be walking the streets of the city or North Jersey.
@Lyssa
Yep. Obama should not be in New Jersey or New York. He can do nothing there that he can’t do better in DC.
I don’t mind that he has to attend a campaign event as long as he authorizes what needs to get done. Which, of course, should have be set on remote control days in advance.
Also, cries from relief from FEMA or any NATIONAL assistance during the first 3 days, if not a week, are ludicrous. Yes, FEMA needed to have water on hand sooner…..but then, the LOCAL government could have done that too. It’s not like this event was a surprise.
You sound like an idiot. No one even knew where that storm would hit a week ago. It could have just as soon hit you squarely between the eyes as it did the Jersey shore and NYC.
This just isnt the blog where that fight is going to be fought.
Well, I suppose the discussion could shift to ” how prepared should your local emergency personnel be and what level of preparedness are citizens willing to pay for”. Another storm coming this week.
It seems to me that expensive equipment is best shared. Not every locality can have 1 of everything. I am thinking about how Fairfax allows us to use their helicopter to look for lost people and criminals.
States aren’t going to have all the equipment the military has. I think the military should help domestically also. The corp of army engineers shouldnt be just for making war.
I’m voting for Romney/Ryan,that said I still like your blog.
Welcome Stephanie, all voters are welcome. There are lots of other things to talk about. things had just gotten a little too overly zealous.
Elena and I made an executive decision.
Have you already voted or will you vote on Tuesday?
I voted absentee. I wanted to avoid long lines.
Lyssa et al,
Seriously, the best thing to do when you have a person within your midst who is only interested in whipping up contention is to ignore them. Slowpoke is angry, I am hopeful that his attitude will change after the election, no matter who wins.
Hi Stephanie,
Welcome 🙂
What about the blog do you like?
Who did you vote for in 08?
What do you like about the Romney/Ryan plan?
