From today, Sunday, November 4, 2012, until the results from the presidential election are in, the Moonhowlers  blog is Obama Country.

If you came here to make sh!tty comments, don’t.  It’s over.  Regular contributors  who very much belong here feel like they are in a hostile environment.  I can understand that.

Obama supporters have endured negative and hostile remarks for over 4 years.  For the next 4 days, I have declared this blog to be a sanctuary for Obama supporters.

To my blue friends….you asked…you received.

Feel free to talk about the fact that I am a repressive facist pig.  Now that’s newsworthy.  Meanwhile, enjoy the blue time.

Romney supporters are welcome.  We aren’t just going to have a feeding frenzy here against Obama.  Enough is enough and people felt like they were being bullied.  Most people can converse without bullying.  There are lots of other things to talk about.

Check out Steve Thomas’s well thought out reason for keeping voting for local officials in May.

Check out storm news.  There is just a lot to talk about.

34 Thoughts to “Obama Country”

  1. Moon, you are not a facist repressive pig. You had to stop the feeding frenzie because of all the compalints you were getting.

  2. Seal Team 6 tonight on NatGeo

    8 pm and 10 pm

    The story of the killing of Bin Laden.

    I am sure there is a version B out there but this is the real one.

  3. IVAN

    This is great. I won’t be wearing my finger out scrolling past a bunch of senseless, stupid links to worthless articles from The Drudge Report, Red State or other crap aimed at the “low information voters” that hang out here occasionally. Now I can converse with people who live “in the now” and not in some sort of “alternative universe” where reality is not viewed as positive, pledges and abstract theories rule the day.

    1. Hi Ivan, good to see you back.

      Are you going to watch Seal Team 6 tonight? Sunday is a big TV night. I will be cranking up the dvd recorder in both rooms and HBOgo and Showtimeanytime.

  4. Lyssa

    Moon you are not a facist repressive pig. You have responded to the majority.

    1. Thanks, Lyssa. I felt I had to.

  5. Lyssa

    I’m curious what others will be doing election night. Getting with a group? Ordering Chinese or pizza glued to the TV?

    1. What is everyone else doing? Anyone going to parties?

      We might go to Kaine headquarters for a while but I mainly want to watch the numbers come in.

      I do not expect to wake up Wed. morning with a declaration. I fear another 2000.

  6. Lyssa

    Ah, bite your tongue. That was the first election my son “noticed”. It was awful.

  7. @Lyssa

    Arrggghhhhhhhh

    Is there a cure?

  8. Morris Davis

    CNN reporters were asked what they’d be watching Tuesday to gauge the likely outcome. John King said he’d have an eye on Prince William County. Nate Silver, Intrade and Betfair have Obama’s odds at 65-85% with less than 2 days to go. Those are good odds, but I’ll rest more comfortably when it’s official.

  9. TWINAD

    My son is 11 and one of his assignments for the long weekend (they don’t go back until Thursday!) is to color all the states red or blue according to who carries it. What a great idea for an assignment…he is really looking forward to it. Great way to get the kids involved and to pay attention.

    Keep VA Blue!!!

  10. Lyssa

    Tim Russert would enjoy this! I’ll be flipping channels…check your remote batteries. I’ve read Ohio could result in a wait on the outcome. Provisional ballots could hold a few things up.mm

  11. @Morris Davis

    You and me both.

    Moe, what is it about Prince William County that makes it such an indicator?

  12. @TWINAD

    That is a great idea! I know why kids aren’t in school Mon. or Tues. Why are they out on Wed.?

  13. City of Manassas folks–Steve Thomas was invited to give us his opinion of the referendum.

    Hopefully you will take time to read his thoughts. Even if you aren’t city, it is a good read.

    Thanks, Steve.

    Where’s the red area? We would be nicer if the blue folks did not always try to “correct” everything we post.

  15. kelly_3406

    Not to say that the red folks aren’t always trying to correct the blue folks, too.

  16. TWINAD

    Wednesday is parent/teacher conference day…that’s why they have the extra day. I’m so jealous of his schedule this month! Two days off last week, only in school two days next week, then off Veteran’s Day then time off for Thanksgiving!

    1. Maybe they should just move Christmas into November….and just close school for the Month. Doesn’t deer season start in Nov. also?

  17. Lyssa

    @kelly_3406

    I think the administrators think we can argue our points with some modicum of respect and politeness. No kum by ya required?!

  18. Censored bybvbl

    My husband is putting in a long day at the polls so I’ll watch the returns on tv. After the results are tallied we’ll either drink champagne to celebrate or to drown our sorrows.

    My zip code is one of those that flip between red and blue so it’ll be interesting to see how it fares this election. I’ll try to vote mid-morning to avoid the longest lines.

  19. Mine is red or it used to be.

    I voted absentee by mail for the first time.

    Where will the Mr Censored be working? We could take him a sandwich.

    (email me)

  20. Elena

    @Lyssa,
    I will be home, “enjoying” the election results in a peaceful house (read between the lines if you know what I mean!), sipping a very good french red wine to stay my nerves!

  21. Lyssa

    @Elena

    Now, that’s a good plan. I’m sure I’ll be emailing a few friends throughout the evening.

  22. Lyssa

    @Moon-howler

    Typing. My husband will keep thinking I’m talking to him – we are in the same camp for this election.

  23. punchak

    @Lyssa
    Was surfing a bit tonight and happened upon W’s acceptance speech.
    You say that election was awful. You should have heard his speech.
    It was REALLY awful.

  24. Ben Tribbett (NLS blog) is calling Obama up by 4, Kaine up by 6. (in Virginia)

    Does anyone know of a good internet score care so we can keep track of the numbers as they come in?

  25. punchak

    TWINAD :Wednesday is parent/teacher conference day…that’s why they have the extra day. I’m so jealous of his schedule this month! Two days off last week, only in school two days next week, then off Veteran’s Day then time off for Thanksgiving!

    Veterans Day is on Sunday. Is it a holiday the following Monday?

  26. TWINAD

    Yes, Monday the 12th is Veteran’s Day observance for PWC schools.

  27. If I see that anti Kaine commercial done by “teachers ” any more I might put my foot through my own TV. Nothing could be further from the truth. Kaine has always been seen as an education governor. That money was pulled back during the finacial crisis and he had to balance that budget.. All areas took a cut, including his pet project of funding pre school in Virginia.

    I have lost all respect for George Allen over that one commercial. He is a lying dog to allow that commercial. It is a pack of lies.

  28. 9 Mormon women tell the Post whiy they will vote for Barack Obam.
