The news has jumped the shark! Generals taking orders from their privates

My favorite soap opera character is Grayson Wolf. And what is wrong with Susan Lucci? I know she is no spring chicken but geez. Put some meat on that woman’s bones.

You couldn’t make this stuff up. Stephen just will never get it.

I am not sure I will ever get past General Petraeus being a hottie. He probably never will either. Then we have the iron pumping girl friend, the diplomat other woman with an evil twin and a shirtless FBI agent.

Stop. This is just too far fetched. No freaking wonder we are quagmired in Afghanistan. Get out of there!!! Someone sent me an email today about the generals taking orders from the privates. I think that says it all.   How do we get past this soap opera?

Mitt Romney still complaining about “the gifts”

Mitt Romney also had his gifts. How about lowering taxes for the rich boys? Expanded oiling drilling? Ripping the heart out of Planned Parenthood? He had his own gift bag.

However, not all Republicans are hell bent on blaming a no longer traditional America for all the GOP’s woes. Listen to what Bobby Jindal has to say about how Americans view these gifts. According to the Washington Post:

We think voters generally make decisions based on a complex assessment of their own interests and what they think is good for the country. Mr. Romney apparently views the people as a series of segmentable, selfish market shares. That is “absolutely wrong,” said Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R). “We have got to stop dividing American voters.”

It’s encouraging that many Republicans are repudiating the contemptuous, and contemptible, O’Reilly-Romney worldview.

Is American no longer traditional? Is ‘traditional’ a dog whistle for something else? What has changed radically recently? All roads lead me to suggest the obvious.

How do the Republicans get back in the saddle and start discussing ideas rather than relying on the sound-bytes from the many bases?

To the Democrats, Romney is just the gift that keeps on giving as he speaks of Obama giving gifts.  It looks like Romney meant what he said in his 47% quote.
