We seem no closer to solving the problem of what to do with prisoners at Gitmo than we were in 2008.

Moe Davis tried valiently to address those concerns. However, Chris Matthews in his usual rude interview method, cut off Colonel Davis every time he opened his mouth.

I turn my TV off when Matthews comes on. He says stupid things and slobbers when he talks. He is rude to those he interviews and he answers his own questions. I am not sure why he bothers to have guests.

Nice job, Moe. I was Howling proud of you that you didn’t turn to the guy and tell him to STFU.

16 Thoughts to “Colonel Morris Davis attempts to address concerns over Gitmo”

  1. I would PAY to watch Morris tell that little pissant to STFU.

    1. As Elena and I have been saying, there are no Chris Matthews fans operating this blog.

Who was that cartoon character that said ‘suffering succatash?’ He talks like that.

I’m no Chris Matthews fan either. He should just perform a monologue because he doesn’t give his guests time to answer anything.

Moe was awesome. I listened to it on my satellite radio while Rachael was in gymnastics. Chris Mathews, was, and remains, a pig. He was arrogant and rude when I did his make up and time has not altered his personality.

He is the “left’s” Bill O’Reilly.

Ethics are ethics. Just as much as we won’t waterboard the three “friends” of the bomber in custody, we should not waterboard ANY person in American custody. Just as these people will get a trial, so should the detainees in Guantanamo. Ethics are not simple conveniences in life. You either have them or you don’t.

    1. I guess I have no ethics. I probably wouldn’t turn some of them loose as long as we have our troops on the ground in the middle east and afghanistan if they were picked up under those circumstances. Its sort of the same reason I won’t trap mice and turn them loose outside on a larger scale. I do agree that some need to be tried. The ones that fit the POW bill…when its over then they get to go home.

What Moe argues is that we are a nation of laws. When I hear that Tsarnaev replied to someone after the bombing that stuff like this happens all the time, I think he believes that to be a basic truth. It gives me the impression that he believes that because their are deaths to some, it gives people the moral latitude to excuse deaths every where, to all people. I think that when we allow that basic human instinct to supercede law, we go down a slippery slope.

The problem with these jihad terrorists, in my opinion, is that they truly believe THEY have the moral high ground to ignore basic human decency.

I think the example of these three kids is actually a great case in point. Did they act as collaborators or dumbass kids? We don’t know. But they will have a fair trial. Only then will we know how deep, if any, was their involvement. Do we treat them the same as the Tsarnaev brother who clearly is seen putting down the backpack? I doubt it.

Are there people sitting in Guantanamo Bay that may fall under these same circumstances as these “friends”? It sounds very possible. I think they deserve a trial.

    1. I am not even sure where they all come from and why they are there. Aren’t some of them just what we would have called POWs in another war?

      Sort of like Vietcong?

How do we try them? I am missing some key bits of info I think. Those people would have been returned home at the end of the war in another war or another era.

Too bad Chris Matthews didn’t really interview Moe. I would have liked to have heard his answers.

  5. Morris should try to get on Hannity AND Jon Stewart.

Or….. get on Blaze TV with Glenn Beck. If nothing else, I bet it would be entertaining. At least Morris would get a word in.

    1. Probably not with Hannity@Cargo. He is a big interrupter also. Beck, not so much of an interruptor.

Is there really a blaze tv? What channel and what cable company?

Am very proud of Moe’s efforts but now that the administration has decided to force feed the hunger strikers, am not sure much will change unless a couple of them die. Then maybe things will change. I surely hope so–the Guantanamo cancer is killing ever so slowly.

  7. Actually just saw that its on Dish channel 212

I would be interested in hearing from Col. Davis to get his impressions of the real Chris Mathews (the backstage one). Is there a difference between the on-air Chris and the off-air Chris.

    1. Ask Elena also. She did his make up. She was not impressed.

  9. Morris Davis

    @BSinVA

No, he talked non-stop from the time I walked on the set, waited through a 2 minute commercial break, straight through the segment, and then through another commercial break until the producer gave him a 10 second warning and I left. It was like he had taken a handful of No-Doze, washed it down with 5 or 6 of those 5-Hour Energy drinks, and was now halfway through a venti espresso.

    1. Did he splatter you with spray when he talked? @Moe

Why does he bother to even have guests?
